  1. I've used their wick building system several times. They are great. When I called them with a special request (one that isn't included in the wick builder) they gladly accomodated me. My only complaint is the shipping charges since I live in the SW. HTH
  2. I have also been using GG for many months now and haven't experienced the problems you've described UNTIL this week. I pulled out a fresh candle and started the burn. The flame was out of control. Since this is the first time this has happened after many months of burning this wax, it couldn't be the wick that is the problem. (I use CSN 12 for my 3" containers) So I pulled out another fresh candle to watch the burn from the very beginning. What is apparently happening (at least with my candles) is that there were many caverns underneath the very top thin layer of the candle (this batch must have cooled quicker than all of my other candles). When the melt pool began to form, it trickled into all of the little tunnels leaving no melt pool ... just a wick that is now exposed and is suddenly 1" long instead of 1/4" long. The flame height suddenly increased 4 times higher than it should have been. I think this would be true whether you use a CSN 5 or 12. I blew out the candles, trimmed the wick to 1/4" and relit them. Once the "caves" were full of wax so that a normal melt pool could form, the candle started burning properly. Just to make sure, I poured 4 GG containers as I usually do (same wicks, same containers)....except this time, I made sure they wouldn't cool too fast AND I poked relief holes and did a re-pour. I test burned them this morning and they are performing beautifully. Hopefully this is the answer because I really do love this wax and would hate to stop using it. :undecided
  3. I couldn't find lids for the 5 oz cubes but my Libby distributor (www.riekesglass.com) carries all of the Libby products including the 7.5, 12, and 20 oz cubes with lids. HTH for future purchases.
  4. I just purchased a Xerox Phaser 8560 from Costco Online. They are currently running a special on this printer ...$499.00 for a $799.00 printer. It uses solid ink rather than cartridges and is very heavy duty (85,000 pgs/month). So far I am loving it. It prints 30 pages per minute both in color and b/w. For the price, can't beat it. HTH
  5. I noticed that Candles and Supplies carries them in several sizes.
  6. All of you have been a great help! Thank you. One thing for sure, I will be going into my first show a lot more confident because of this forum and all you contributors. I was starting to panic when the server was down. But all is well now.
  7. Thank you Crafty1 for your input. And to you again Janelle. I hope I have the problem of having too many customers to be able to provide written receipts. Have a great day all of you!
  8. Thank you two for the info. I have my first show coming up in October and just trying to make sure I've covered everything. By the way, Holly, your website is fantastic. Good job!
  9. What do you all use for customer receipts at craft fairs?
  10. Your process sounds intriguing but I am having a hard time picturing it. (Forgive me for being a little bit "slow"...I am still very new to this business) Could you provide further explaination? How do you pass a rubber washer through a solid bar? Thank you.
  11. I've also used CandleWic's palm wax with good results.
  12. Soooo glad I'm not the only one with the "disease." Seems like I am in good company. Thanks again for your help.
  13. I've wicked my aluminum pillars both ways. When I don't use a wick pin (for my square molds), I set them on a rack that my husband made so that they remain level. I use a wick pin for my round molds and they work great. They don't affect the concave tops because you are inserting the pin from the outside of the mold.
  14. Being new to the business, I am overwhelmed by all of the choices for FOs and I am trying to narrow down to the ones I will carry. On an average, how many FOs do you seasoned chandlers offer? Thanks in advance for the info.
  15. Thank you. I will definitely give that a try.
  16. I did, but didn't get a full melt pool. Perhaps I should try something other than ECO???
  17. I got the full melt pool about 50 minutes into the burn. I noticed the black puffs a few minutes later.
  18. Thank you. Just to be more specific...I am using C-3 soy wax, ECO 14 wick and using 1oz. of FO per pound of wax. I am getting very smooth tops with few wet spots, a complete melt pool and the throw is really nice. So I am pretty pleased with the result except for the black puffs.
  19. Just another newbie...:rolleyes2 All of you veterans have really been helpful to me and have helped to make this new venture a blast...so thanks to you all. I have been testing my 9 oz. "roly poly" soy containers (ECO 14) and they seem to be doing everything right except I keep getting black puffs of smoke shooting up during the burn. Any thoughts? Thank you.
