Many, many people love JS fragrances. Personally, I have never had luck getting them to throw. I use 444 though, not CB. I think that you'll get some many people saying the prefer the CB 135 over the advanced. Cure times vary, but I'm impatient and don't want to wait two weeks. There are too many FO companies to try for me to wait that long on a particular FO to work. I'll just move on and test from somewhere else.

what type of paraffin? There are many, many type. What size containers? What wicks? Do you achieve a full melt pool? What FO are you using? Help us help you....

some FO is body safe, some isn't. There are different strengths of FO. Some FO works with some wax, some doesn't. Some FO works better with a certain type of wax. Tell us what FO you buy, and someone will be able to tell you if it's something they've used.

I bought this font, because I wanted something that was unique and different. Everything is kind of built around the flowing lower case 'f'.. so I'm not sure I can change that without changing everything. I've tried many other fonts without finding one that I liked as well as this one. After SOW's suggestion, I even tried it with a plainer font... but it just doesn't flow, IMHO.

Making labels is sure not an easy thing to do. Or perhaps it's because I'm so graphic design challenged. Posting a label is somewhat similar to showing a picture of your child. To you, it's terrific... to other's... well...

I was recently going to participate in a swap, and backed out because I don't have any labeling and/or packaging for anything I make. When asked how I tell fragrances apart, I came clean and said that I write it on a sheet of label paper from Staples, cut it out, and put it on. It's really time for me to take a step ahead. If you'd like to know the type of jars this will be going on... well... I have tumblers, status, square masons, victorian, salsa, 12 oz straight sided jelly jars, hex and I'm sure there are others. Anyway, I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!!

whew.... I'm right there with you! Choosing a name can be very, very difficult. It's easier to help someone else, I think. I like the way 'Mountain Lights' sounds. I love simple, easy to spell names. Adding 'Luxuries' takes away some of the simplistic appeal, at least for me. I think Mountain Lights might be able to transfer over to B & B. If not, I think that luxuries is the best fit, as far as B & B. But maybe you could add a luxury thing into a tagline. Mountain Lights, bathing you in luxury. I suck at taglines. Wait, I kinda suck at business names too. Perhaps you should stop listening to me now.

How are you going to do labels? Do you already have a 'theme' decided? That always helps when choosing a name as well, I think. Picture how the entire line will look labeled, packaged and on display.

I wish you the best of luck, as I can empathize with the difficulty of your decision! Hopefully some of the more creative folks here will jump in and help you more...

Ok, so I don't sell anything. But, occasionally, I get a hair up my behind and think I want to. Sometimes, I even go so far as to pay Becky at studio beck to do a logo for me. I like to experiment, and going the business route would tie me to a specific formula, ie. jar, wax, FO, etc because things would have to be consistently consistent. That's just too much commitment for me, usually. However, this morning, I find myself with that itch.... The name that I had decided on was Sunday Soy (yes, my logo is on Becky's portfolio, lol). Now, I want to venture into soaping, and that name doesn't carry very well, I think. So, I've come up with.... Me First, Naturally. Now, before anyone freaks because I haven't actually made soap, please keep in mind that I've been making candles for many years and have yet to establish a business. This is more along the lines of 'what if' or 'maybe someday'. Anyway, just wanted some feedback... thanks for taking the time!

Is it a medieval name they'd like? Because you could take something like Be Delicious and re-name it Guinevere (I'm sure I misspelled that)... or Green Irish Tweed called Lancelot... AH has a FO called Dark Knights, that could be Knight in Shining Armor.

I use several companies for my FO for candles. CS, DS, KY, AH, MC, Peak, etc.

I've read the sticky about scents that rock in CP soap. There aren't any listed from Candle Science or Aroma Haven. I think I read, during my research, that it's best to go with a FO company that tests in CP soap, which makes sense.

So, for those who make both soap and candles... do you use different suppliers for FO for each? I know I have to test my own, I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible.

What Candybee said... however, with a 4" container and soy wax, you're going to have to double wick. I, right now anyway, am using 444 and I like LX the best, with second choice probably RRD. CSN were developed, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, mainly for the palm waxes. I think Jackalex posted something about trying to use her RRD's in Palm and it not working and CSN in soy and it going badly. Let me search... nope, can't find it. Anyway, wicking is always discussed. You'll find that one person can use the exact same wax, FO and wick combination and have very different results. Wick kits can be a bit pricey, but what isn't pricey in making candles? It all depends on what is most important to you...

during my travails with researching, Robin's tutorial on CP is terrific.. it includes pics, and is quite detailed. The only other thing I've had to go looking for as far as instructions is percent FO to add. I found that at www.millersoap.com

kangaroo blue, camden grey, catalina, mms, a garden eastward, columbus foods, the scent works. Or if you do a search on the supplier by state ( http://www.suppliersbystate.com/state-listings.php ) there are many suppliers listed. I can tell you some of the keywords I've used to search, but I still wouldn't know what I know without the help of the few I've PM'd. People here really are helpful!
