  1. Here they are cut. I cut them a bit differently & got better shaped bars, but a bit too thick. I should have the perfect size on my 3rd batch. They say 3 the charm.
  2. Thanks everyone. You've all been so supportive. Ok, I'm off to do my 3rd batch. Maybe I'll try swirls in the pot as my first swirlings.
  3. Yes, let's take a look at them. Super job!
  4. Yes, we do need scratch & sniff Tech. They look mahvelous (a la Billy Crystal)!
  5. They all look wonderful. Love those Apricot swirls.
  6. jbren, it definitely is getting darker. Thanks Carrie. Good to know.
  7. Robin, your tutorial really helped. I read that thing so many times. The swirling in the pot looks way cool & sounds easy. That will be next. I also followed Bunny's tutorial on "how to create a soap recipe" & create this recipe & others. I enjoy that part immensely. I'm like a mad scientist creating all these formulas. You guys here on CT have created a monster.
  8. Got Milk? Now I'm hankering for brownies. They look great.
  9. Didn't get the color right. I was going for a Cranberry color using Select Shades. I followed their instructions but it now looks like a dark peach color. We'll see if the color changes.
  10. Thanks everyone. Here it is cut. Don't know how to put it in the original post. I'm not happy with the size of the bars. Too square. I just can't find a 2lb mold that's not a log. I'm caught in a serious addiction here. I'm off from work this week & I've just done another one. Now where the hell am I going to put all these to cure?
  11. Lovely! Looks like a yellow butter cake. Yummy!
  12. Nice & swirls on your first attempt! Good job.
  13. Good advice E. They're always welcomed. Ginger, I felt exactly the same way. I did m&p since no lye involved, but after looking at all these soaps & all the swirls, I just had to try. Now when I show my friends the soaps I did, I can say I actually did the soap, KWIM?
  14. Thanks so much E. Feel better now. Now I can breathe. Do I dare try another one tomorrow?
  15. They look scrumptious. Are they soap?
  16. Thanks for all your support. Now I'm freaking out cause I don't know what to do next. Afraid I'm going to mess it up. It's gelled completely. Should I uncover it to let it get cool or keep it warm? How do you all keep the anxiety at bay?
  17. Thanks, Brenda & SoapintheCity. It was a mixture of fear & excitement. I keep peeking looking for the gel stage, but nothing yet. I can't wait to use these. Do I really have to wait 6 weeks? It's gonna kill me to wait that long. This FO is nice. More citrusy than herbal.
  18. My very 1st cp batch. I kept it simple until I know what I'm doing. I've put plastic wrap on top to prevent ash, but it's touching the soap. I hope that's fine. I read about small batches not producing enough heat, so I covered it in a towel & placed it in the oven with the light on. I was going to try rt cp, but it couldn't get it done last night. So I did it this morning & let everything cool before mixing. Hope it comes out alright.
  19. Wow! This looks amazing!
  20. Good luck ah-soy! I'll be looking for those pictures.
  21. I always do individual bars. Using this method has always worked for me when I don't know the amount a new mold holds. I add water to the individual cavity of the mold & pour into a measuring cup. With that measure, I then weigh some of my mp on a scale to that amount. I then adhere a label to the bottom of the mold with that measurement. That way I always have that info at hand. As for color & scent, I pretty much do as Angel91805 suggested, though I do use a tiny bit more scent. I'm a scent junkie. HTH R.
  22. MBShafeena, that palm oil you used might be the "red palm oil" I once saw on the shelf of a health food store here. I wondered at the time if it would be good for soaping & you've answered my question. Of course, I'd have to scent it to match a yellow color. In any case, yours look yummy!
