  1. manly basket ideas....hmmm i think they call it a "dop" kit....

if you could find the old time mugs with the brushes & add in a shaving soap - could either pour it into the mug or make "rounds" that would fit into them

maybe add in an unscented moisterizer or a "manly" scent like mountain lake or something....could also add in some grooming scissors, small comb, nail clippers

you could do the "Metro" themed manly baskets as well..now that more men are starting to take skincare seriously you could put a wide array of products in...just make sure they are unscented or have a manly scent....

packaging on both should be very simple! dop kits could be on the rustic side with darker colors while the metro would have a more modern approach...i'm thinking clear and shiny....maybe even packaged in the plain paint cans that you can buy at lowe's/home depot

  2. hmmmm...how about for b&b "bath" baskets you could make a "girls night in"....all sizes depending how much of a pricetag they are willing to take! you could start out with the simple

    salts/teas/fizzies/melts, etc.

    soap/shower gel, etc

    lotion/whips/butters, etc.

    body sprays/linen sprays, etc.

candles/jars/holders (i like lots so this is something you could add more of for the deluxe...i love bathing in a candlelight rooom.....so relaxing)

    poofies/slippers/spa socks/loofahs/back scrubbers/soap savers

    manicure sets

wine glass & CD (i noticed walmart had a pretty good selection of holiday type cds, could also go with classical, easy listening, greatest love songs, etc)

i have a bazillion types of ideas for this type of thing...just NOT much time to put it into motion....2 kids under 3)

    ask if you'd like more.....

  3. have you checked out walmart....they have some nice ones at a reasonable price! I have checked a few places online and they seem costly even at wholesale pricing......maybe some knows of some places that are cheaper....

  4. Same here. I steer clear of using "common" scents like "French Vanilla", "Sugar Cookie", "Apple Cinnamon", and the like. I also don't do a "country" theme, and I don't use terms like "scentsations", or "such and such candles". (No offense to anyone.:P ) I don't do jelly jars, mason jars, or anything like that either. Most everyone around my area does. I try to keep away from that. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with any of these things I've mentioned, but I choose to go another direction to try and distinguish myself. :)

I second you on this one....I always hated the look of candles in canning jars...i loved the handmade candles but would hide them behind a picture frame or some such thing in my apt.....I've also stayed away from the hex jars....and the tins (everyone seems to be picking these up now as well) It's getting pretty hard to find glassware that's unique...I am also in the process of weeding out the FO closet......I personally detest bakery scents....but they are such great sellers....so I am only going to keep a few during the holiday season.....

Terrie you have me wondering what your company name is....

  5. the leather smells exacly like a leather shop....fresh leather jacket smell...which to me is nothin like new car (but then again I've never owned a car with leather interior)

tall grass smells like the old school body spray from the GAP - grass

    hth

    DUH asking fav's as well

    my favs from peaks are:

    green tea

    green clover & aloe

    blackberry sage

    stormwatch

    tuscan nights

  6. I continued to make candles throughout my entire pregnancy.....and have a perfectly healthy 6 month old baby girl!!!

I did have a few problems with FO's making me extremely nauseous.....and the last trimester everything was difficult big belly was awkward, legs & feet were swollen, etc

Each pregnancy is different so just take it one day at a time and be cautious...it never hurts to ask your dr's oppinion especially if things aren't going as they should....

  7. If you do decided to put a spigot on make sure it is brass....hubby did mine while he was at work and put on some expensive valves and extended the spigot so it wouldn't need to set directly on the edge of the counter.....it looked really spiffy and best of all materials were free.....HOWEVER, he used stainless....let's just say it gets clogged every single time I use it!!!!!! Stainless is NOT effective conductor in this application - PITA - so now I haven't used it in ages and don't really miss all the headaches of using a spigot....I use a huge ladle that holds like 4 oz......

  8. It's crazy how this addiction has snowballed!!! I started out with a $40 kit from Michael's and $2800 later I sold my first container candle at a local craft show!

It was only supposed to be a "hobby" but then I became more and more consumed by it....for soooooo many reasons mostly to preoccupy myself. I was in severe depression and it was an "outlet" for me. (Hubby was shipped to middle east with the army and I lost my kid sis in a car accident) I just kept working and working on it 'til I got it "right" I wish I had found this website sooner!!! I tested about a year...went thru 2 container waxes and then worked on votives.

I can honestly say very little has changed since that first show! Only difference is the use of UV inhibitor. I am currently switching my line of wicks.....but that's because of preference not necessity - just tired of zincs mushrooming so I'm retesting with LX's and they are performing wonderfully for me! Almost have all my scents rewicked!!!! (which I carry about 45)

  9. I remember your previous post with the goblets and must say again that I love your rendition of the them...I'm not much for frilly florals and autumn is my favorite time of year so the leaves are PERFECT!!! Your basket looks gorgeous and I am sure it smells scrumptious as well!
