  1. I've tried to up the amount of FO in soap before and it didn't work out too well....I added 1.5 oz (weight) ppo which was a lot of oil because it was a light weight oil (if that makes any sense to ya). the batch overheated a tad...some FO pooled on top...i let it soak back into the soap before cutting into bars and the end result was a "mottled" looking soap....similiar to mottle candles...kinda cool looking but I don't recommend it

this particular FO was one that didn't perform in candles either...so i have like 12oz of FO that I have no idea what to do with it!!!

  2. if you could find some cute little fish or crabs??? I can't think of mermaids without thinking of Ariel...and flounder and sebastian....

or maybe a cutesy little flower and some sparkles in the M&P....or maybe just throw in some M&P curls around her in some really fun colors

hmmm...let me see what you come up with...'cause the kids will be needing some new goodies soon! the last package was so wonderful....we will definitely be return customers!

  3. Hi AJ! With mine you have a choice, a little or a lot, whichever you want to take off. There are two grooves and you decide which to use to bevel your soaps. And yes you can shave off tops, bottoms or sides it you want.

yep yep...and the shavings from the sides. etc are paper thin!!! so next to nothing is "wasted".....i think i paid $23 from the actual maker on ebay....so for me it was more economical because it was a little more versatile than the l'l shaver...which I looked at...I figure I'll give For crafts sake my money when i order the log cutter!!! ohhh I want one soooo bad!

  4. now could somebody show a picture of the target organizer, I will be going there today and wanted to know exactly what I'm looking for, thanks

the target organizers were clearanced out...and I have never seen them again...although I've been looking at every target store I visit...as I absolutely love this "mold"

  5. hmmm how about

    Tres Magnifique (very splendid)

    Tres Beau (very beautiful)

beauté et élégance (beauty & elegance)

    opulent (opulent)

belle femme ( beautiful woman) - I think this is my fav so far

    adding more:

    beauté indulgente (indulgent beauty)

    beauté décadente (decadent beauty)

i dunno - I'm stuck on the words woman, beauty, and synonyms for indulgence but that's what comes to mind for upscale and french...for me at least

    adding even more...still thinking

    beauté essentielle (essential beauty)

  6. you can even go one ebay and buy them for like $2 a piece....so maybe if you don't have time to make them...you could buy them from another person and then markup from there....

i just bought 10 from a lady on there as gifts to throw in the family's baskets at our 4th of July bash.....if I am happy with them I'll let you gals know...

  7. I luv these things....I paid $5 a piece for mine from a lady at a craft show last year....they are the best things ever...great for mowing grass and doing yard work!!! I soak mine in ice water...shocks ya at first but is wonderful...they really really work! I've worn it for up to 2 hours without it getting too warm...just keep flipping it whenever it felt like it was warming to my temperature. then just poured some additional cold water on it or tossed in fridge for alittle to cool down!

and Macy they would go great on a softball or baseball field....the girls would only be allowed to wear them in the dugout due to uniform codes..but the parents would greatly appreciate them!!!

  8. to kind of gauge what % of your ingredients check out bunny's bootylicious body butter....it's amazing (IMHO)

    http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=bbrecipes;action=display;num=1113319658;start=19#19

you may want to do a search on it here to get more info about updates and ingredient switches....but it's a start.....plus Lori posted a link to a recipe at oregon trails another thread of yours about the same thing.....

  9. i would like to use:

    distilled water

    shea

    cocoa

    mango

    veg glyc.

    emul wax

    steric acid

    citric acid

    aloe leaf juice

and some other things like fo, rose water, micavit e etc...

trying to get close to this souffle that i have as possible

your first 3 ingredients are butters...so you have an emulsified "butter"

i guess if you wanted it lighter you could use shea oil and mango oil and small amounts of cocoa butter

  10. borax is found locally in grocery stores, etc...it's known as 20 Mule Team Borax in the laundry aisle (Sodium tetraborate Na2B4O7 )

"mineral softens water and is a cleansing agent, and has the unique ability to suspend soap particles in water so they don"t adhere to the skin or clog the pores. The skin is left cleaner and softer because of it." (Quote from Rosemary Gladstar's book titled "Herbs for Natural Beauty.")

Which that is all on the site you posted as well!

http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/recipe/default.asp has some recipes for lotions, creams, etc with borax...you can do a search recipe and type in "borax" - for some reason I couldn't link it correctly

  11. I would think the same of that stuff as I would any premade aloe gel/juice.

Ok, ok.. You twisted my arm! Here's my source for it!

    http://www.thesynergy.com/supplies/extracts.htm#Aloe%20Vera%20Powder

aww geez bunny!! ok I went to the link and was sniffing around and low and behold if you go to the weekly specials they are having the aloe powder on sale BOGO!!!! Thanks girlie.....I think I may have maxed out my credit card....ok not really but I did pick up a few other good looking ingredients....now I need to learn how to use them!!

  12. I read that on the old forum link.......i think next time i am gonna try the aloe juice from the health store.....it's clear and unflavored and says it's distilled.....i'll make a few batches and see how that goes until i order the powder......

  13. I used the aloe juice from wal-mart

i upped oils and butters since i had some % points to play around with 'cause my lack of ca and ipm

my butters and oils were - sweet almond, apricot kernal, macadamia nut oil, kokum, mango, shea butter

so my recipe looked like this

    57% aloe

    12% e-wax

    4% sweet almond oil

    4% apricot kernal oil

    4% macadamia nut oil

    4% glycerin

    4% kokum butter

    4% mango butter

    4% shea butter

    1% Dry Flo

    1% Preservative

    1% FO

  14. So glad ya'll like it! I've tweaked it a bit more since I posted the recipe.. I upped my water a tad and lowered my oils/butters. Also subbed out the glycerin for sodium lactate, and added a few more hard to pronouce things! I love it even more now!

hmmmm - so what does the sodium lactate offer into this??? I actually have some of this!

I ended up nixing the cetyl alcohol and IPM because I didn't have them.....what exactly do those 2 ingredients do for the recipe......I seriously need to start researching some additives now.....thanks Bunny....another freaking addiction!:P
