  1. Well called them this afternoon...there seemed to have been a little glitch but they had already figured it out and had mailed it out already!!!! I talked to Heather and she was sooo nice and helpful - great customer service which is always a HUGE plus!!!

I am super excited to get this package...I ended up ordering 42 of them!!! I hope they are everything I am expecting and more!!! Just out of curiousity what did everyone order - I wanted to order 1 of everything but had to keep in my budget!

  2. Yes it was in the SNC newsletter I get..I just purchased 20 oils and put in the comments box it was the sale..they sent me the paypal invoice within 15 minutes with the correct total :)

I ordered last night and still haven't heard anything...how long does it usually take? I've never ordered from them but signed up for their mailing, etc and then ordered like 40 some 1ozers and received a confirmation but not a shipping notice and the cart did not discount??? Should I call and ask or what??? I really don't want to pay over $100 for these when they are supposed to be on sale KWIM?!?!

  3. I made this stuff today and it is some awesome stuff!!!!!! I can't wait to make a bigger batch, I only did a 20 oz to test it. :yay:

I kept asking myself why I waited so long to try this???!!! It was actually pretty easy and I liked the results soooo much better than the regular whipped butters!!!!

  4. I used a small (sanitized) stainless pot on the stove top on low/medium heat and just let it sit there for a while - approximately 20 minutes - while I measured and prepped other ingredients

if you do it this way it doesn't seem like such a hassle like I thought it would be......

  5. I just whipped up a batch of "Bunny's Bootylicious Body Butter" and oh my!!! oh my!!! oh my!!! it's simply amazing....thru some in some jars for testers...and saved a bunch for me!!! I must say...if I can keep duplicating this - it will definitely be in my B&B line!!!!!

  6. you have several misspelled fragrances....in particular check out the following:

    1, 26, 30, 34, 45

    #17 - shouldn't deep fried be 2 words?

#18 dreamsicle with an s or c???? just looks odd with 2 c's could be me though.....

    also other errors include:

please email of call me - should be or

just leave you paypal - should be your

also it could be my eyes playing tricks on me but the fonts don't seem to be consistent on the fragrances????

might want to work on pics a little...its hard to see your product clearly...lighten them up and make them bigger!

your on the right track...just takes time!!!!

  7. Does anyone have a recipe or product they use/sell for a "natural" creme rinse or conditioner for use after a shampoo bar? (I've read here that you can follow up with vinegar - but the smell of plain ol' vinegar makes my stomach turn! - and I don't really think I'd like to try it either...dunno just sounds gross)

I have tangle prone hair and need to use conditioner before I can even think about combing my hair....I have purchased a few shampoo bars to test drive and really need something afterwards!

Any recipes or comments are greatly appreciated

  8. maybe sell soaps in stacks of three and have them tied together with ribbon on a cute soap dish....1 brown soap/1 white soap/1 pink one...may work easier than trying to really mesh different scents into one bar!?!

  9. I noticed JS (which I've never tries) is having a pretty good sale this week and was wondering how the following compare to Peaks oils - which I normally use...

    Hot Apple Pie

    Cinnamon Bun

    Creme Brulee

    Fruit Slices

    TIA

  10. The candles in the picture you provided are more brilliant than the tutorials provided...perhaps try a wider pan that is still deep enough for your water....instead of using hot water use room temp water and candle safe paints that aren't water based (does such a paint exist??)

I once watched a lady make the most brilliant and beautiful scarves using a similar technique...trough of water...she made an intricate pattern on the water's surface by layering paints and using sticks and such to manipulate paint into ripples, etc and then she simply laid the silk in and it soaked up the paint! really cool to watch!

  11. Here are my reviews for the experimental food soaps. Bear in mind these are my opinions...and you know how the saying goes!!!

CORNSTARCH: Loved the color of purple for this one and the fragrance was wonderful - I absolutely love it. It felt as though it took longer to work up a good lather and the bubbles weren't very big or great. The lather felt "chalky" rather than creamy. The lather did slide well across the skin. After showering I felt a little dry but not uncomfortably so. I wonder if it would work well as a facial soap additive for 'greasy' types? (edited to add - maybe not made my face feel dry instantly!)

MAYO: Great color on this one!!! I also love this scent...even more than Peaks version this has more spice! The bubbles and lather left a lot to be desired on this one. It glided well over the skin very smooth and slippery. Skin felt wonderful after using...so I'd say it's quite moisterizing!

AVOCADO: mmmm..smells so wonderful! I really like this bar almost as much as the cucumber one...nice creamy lather nice bubbles....no drying effect...slides well across the skin. I will have to put this on the "to-try" list.

SOUR CREAM: Not big fan of BNB so that may affect my enjoyment on this bar a bit....crazy I know but true. Bubbles and lather were great, slid well over the skin, and was a nice moisterizing bar...a pretty good additive...may have to experiment with this some day!

EGG YOLK: My 3rd favorite so far....nice creamy lather and bubbles...glided over skin well but was slightly "tacky" feeling...nicely moisterizing

YOGURT: Not sure why but I could barely smell this one...(candlenose???) It seamed as though the yogurt cut down on the bubbles a bit but the lather was nice and creamy...felt great on the skin both during and after. Nice!

CARROT PUREE: I finally used this bar...held off a little because the top looked a little weird...the scent on this is awesome...I love Peaks Carrot Cake...not sure I like washing with it 'cause it makes me drool and then I have to wash all over again...hahaha...Bubbled well and the lather was creamy and plentiful....slide well over the skin...felt nice and moisterizing in shower and after...all around nice bar!

CUCUMBER: One of my absolute favorites!!! Smell is divine and the soap is fabulous! The lather was easy to work up and was deliciously creamy. The bubbles were wonderful - nice and big and fluffy just like I like 'em! Felt wonderful on the skin and felt very moisterized after showering. I was kinda wary of the little yellow spots but since it didn't smell funky I decided it was ok to use....this was the only one that "turned."

Based on this I have put the cucumber, avocado, carrot, yogurt, and sour cream on my list of projects to try.....it'll have to wait until I get my base recipe "tweaked" though! The cuc and avocado bars were my fav.....I think it was because the scent/bubbleage/moisterizing all worked for me in these 2 bars! It was a very fun experience for me...I hope you got something from my feedback...I know this was a learning experience for me!!! Thanks so much for including me!

  12. Thanx guys! I see that size isn't uniform so to speak. We each like our own size for specific reasons! I am with Robin on the 3.5 inches though, I think I like the longer bars much better than the thinner bars. Thinking that maybe a mold that is a cross between a slab and log mold may be ideal. Maybe get the best of both worlds......

I'm getting ready to test drive a new mold and it is a cross between a slab/log mold....

bar measurements should be 3.5x2.25x(1) ()means it is up to your preference 'cause you cut it like a log!

if you would like specific measurements or my opinions on it after I unmold everything let me know!

  13. Looks good. And good name and target audience..

A little bit of stats for you, since hikers always like to know these type of things. Soap is biodegradable, 99% in 3 days. Supposedly. Don't have a link to substantiate it though, just one of those things in my journal.

    interesting info! Cute labels!!!
