Anyone try it in CP soap?

So are you saying after it melts and you stir and it hardens it is ok to just scoop and use? I did portion a bunch out in baggies but now I need more so I don't know if I have to melt the whole thing down again or not. I hope not! Thanks everyone for all the input on this subject.

LOL, I did put half the bottle in the soap and drank the other half. But it looked pretty scary oozing out the bottom of my 7lb soap log!

Well to let you all know I took it out of the mold and took the freezer paper off it and on the bottom the was a good size pocket of lye/wine that must not have mixed in. So I threw it away. I think next time I will do a lye water mix and then add the wine in at trace. Learn from your mistakes. I actually think it was the pink sugar fragrance I added as it did start to seize but I thought I mixed well but I guess not.

No just my normal recipe, it did start to seize but that was after I added the fragrance and all oils and lye/wine was mixed in well. Just think all lye was not dissolved. If the wine heated up with the lye you would think it would have been dissolved after stirring and stirring. Not sure!

I made 2 batches of wine soap the other day, I have not cut them your but it looks like there is undissolved lye beads in the soap. I dissolved the lye in the wine and made sure all lye was dissolved but the mixture was really dark. Is it possible to rematch it if it is lye or should I just pitch it? How can you tell if it is lye? I know the tongue test if that's what I have to do.

If I were to add yoghurt at light trace would I discount water? I was going to add 1 Tbs per pound of oils. So it would be 4.5 Tbs of yogurt and minus the same in water?

I ordered the RBD Palm which is in a bucket. I kind of wish it was a cube so I could just cut off what I need.

Thanks Scented! I actually called them and they said it it must have melted during shipping so I opened it up and stirred it like crazy and portioned it out into baggies. I put them outside as it is a little cool out so I am hoping that they solidify so I can store them. I am actually glad it was melted as I have no idea how I would ever melt a 50 # pail.

The one they sent me is fully liquid. Is this the same as the solid and just easier to use? I did not know you had to stir the solid palm. Even the 7 lb jugs from BC ad WSP?

I ordered Palm oil from Soapers choice and they sent me RBD. Can this be used the same as my regular Palm (Solid) for CP? Will it make the soap softer? Not sure if I should send it back or just use it.

So I tried Coconut milk soap today. I added the lye to half water and then added the coconut milk at light trace then fragrance. It started to seize quick so I stirred as much as I could and put it in the mold. I did cover with a towel and then I realized that milk soaps heat up quickly and took the towel off after it sat for 6 hours. Hopefully this won't affect the soap. What do you all think about this? Oh and I scented it with 4 different 1 oz oils as I wanted coconut scent but I only had 1 oz coconut left, so I added Jamaica Me Crazy, Peach, and Pineapple. It smells really good.

Thanks everyone!! I will try the canned milk as mine as additives. Maybe I'll try a fresh coconut! Does it stink like goat's milk? If I did part water do I add the milk in with the oils before I add the lye/water? What is the best coconut scent? Peaks? I need to get some to try!

Anyone ever use coconut milk in CP? I make it with Goat's milk but would like to do a milk soap for Vegans and have read how great coconut milk is for the skin. Also what kind of coconut milk do you use? Can? I have some I got from Trader Joe's in a box. Any input is much appreciated.

I Have been using the deodorized for my CP and happy with it but have never tried the Golden Prime pressed. What is the actual difference between the two? Is one better than the other? I have read that the Golden has the chocolate scent, is that the only difference? TIA
