Hi all I am going to make some lotion bars and was going to infuse my oils with Calendula and Chamomile petals. Do you think I could also use royal jelly? Not fresh but the kind in a tub from the natural food store. Do you think it would infuse the oil and strain out or is it a waste of time?
Hi I am thinking it overheated. The liquid did zap so it was definitely lye. Do you think I could rematch or should I just toss? Here is my recipe. Olive Oil 33% Coconut Oil 25% Palm Oil 20% Cocoa Butter 5% Castor Oil 7% Mango Butter 5% Avocado Oil 5%
Made a batch of green tea soap-new recipe with added mango butter and new fragrance. It gelled for quite a while. I un-molded it today and there was lye water liquid on the bottom of my soap log and white blotches on the bottom of the soap. What do you think would cause this and do you think it will soak back in? I actually wiped the bars and set them on my curing rack. I should have just stayed with my regular trusty recipe. Just wanted to try something new.
LOL! I got this here http://www.gardeners.com/Large-Orchard-Rack/38-524,default,pd.html It is a vegetable drying rack. Someone posted it on here, I looked into it and bought it.
Just wondering if it is mandatory to put your full address on all labels or if you can just put Handcrafted in (your town and state)??? Just weirded out to put my home address on anything and I don't have a PO box.
I just want a salve for dry, cracked hands in thewinter and something good for gardeners hands in the summer. I would like to use beeswax, avocado oil, mango butter, cocoa butter and maybe olive oil.
9 pounds. I have never rebatched soap. What is the easiest way to do it? Can I cut it up really small and put it in a big pot in the oven? How long should it be in there?
