  1. Am I the only one not impressed with NG scents....I have: monkey farts, fresh green grass, cotton candy, cucumber melon, black cherry bomb.....hopefully when I mix them into candles they will be better...... the only one that smells reasonably close to what it should be IMO is the cucmber melon. With out looking at the lables that is the only one I could pick out... I don't know maybe it is just me...(sorry done ranting now)
  2. if you are just making them for your self...run....or if you making them to sell...make sure you sell then buy more. Of course if you are selling you will need your inventory up first, which will cost some...
  3. If peaks lavender is anything like their lilac, it has to be strong...
  4. BCN is bitter creek right? I can't seem to figure out how to purchase things there... As any one tried Cierra candles lavender?
  5. I have a request for lavender scent...anyone know who has the best lavender FO?
  6. what do you ship votives in...or what would you ship them in?
  7. I know where to find them, I was asking why it states they are good for storing votive candles. wondering if anyone used them.
  8. I am sure you guys don't use new pour pots, etc..everytime you make new candles (I could be wrong)...so how do you make sure the prior FO and color is gone when you do a new batch? I put all of my stuff in the oven, heat it up and wipe it out...but I still can smell a little FO from previous batch...what do you guys do?
  9. where do you buy shrink bags or cello bags?....I know cierra candles has them, but would local stores have these things..
  10. do you use shrink wrap or cello bags, or other
  11. Walmart has the glass mason jars...I believe I saw 12 for $5.00 or something cheap like that..(no shipping $ involved)
  12. would I need 1 or 2 wicks in this jar.... what determines how many wicks to use?
  13. I can't remember what site I saw them on, but they were selling one gallon plastic jugs and it stated that they were good to store votives in...do any of you use gallon jugs for candle storage? Does the plastic do anything to the scents?
  14. has any one used these guys? they seem to have cheap prices..which could mean a few things...but, just wondering if anyone knows about them.. http://www.letitshineusa.com/
  15. ok, I looked pretty much everywhere on NG's site...what are reward points and how are they calculated? any one know..
  16. well, I do nothing different then I have with any other FO that I get both cold and hot throw....
  17. ok... actually I am not looking to burn the wax in question...I am looking to get a very good cold throw...
  18. maybe it is something I am doing with their scents...I have 4 scents from them and they have a good cold throw, but can't get a hot throw....
  19. Is there anything I can add to wax to increase the melt point? I did a experiment today by leaving a candle in my car, I guess it was directly in the sun at one point and it melted some(which I can't believe it did melt) ...So is there anything I can add to increase the melt point.. one of the additives or what?
  20. I should have explained more....I am making votives and I use a pyrex measuring cup to pour....I have to do repours and I need a faster way to do this...so with everything being micro safe and watch the temp every few seconds or so, I guess I really am asking is, does the microwave hurt the wax/FO mix?
  21. do any of you use the microwave to melt / heat wax? I am not talking about pounds of it, but if you need to repour, do you heat that little bit up?
  22. Ok, I want to do something like yankee candle does with their votives. Is that shrink wrap that they use? What do you use? I think I need a heat gun, but won't a heat gun melt the candle when I use this shrink wrap stuff? I found some old post about shrink wrap but I was wondering if there have been anything new about shrink wrapping etc... So basically what do I need to get to get votives wrapped like this: is there any advantage to wrapping candles other than looks? thanks
