  6. postage varies from seller to seller (although it shouldnt, but it does) and that can depend on many things ie nattycat on here has a flat rate postage up to a certain amount of kilos, jo from sensory perfection, offers discount on postage for multiple items bought, it comes down to what set up the business has with the post office, some sellers of ebay for instance will charge more than others, its a case of doing some reasearch and comparing prices not only on the items you want but also the postage charges, what you may pay more for on one site, will possibly be higher on another site, but there postage may be higher, you will have to shop around and compare! Ie craftwise in leeds offers a discount of 10% for orders over £100 but also has discount (cant remember off top of head) think its no postage on orders over £15, but a small order charge on orders under that (some one else will let you know if im wrong or correct) hope that helps
  7. you've blown that away you help us to much to remain tough lol
  8. just a quick thought i know you say your parents wont let you buy from internet, but if you chat them up nicely, why not look into a starter kit which will include the bits you need some even have the thermometers in, that way you can see if you enjoy making candles without splashing out loads of money. also a nice easy way to start is making some melts, that way no wick involved and you can get used to working with wax, all you will need is for starters a slicone/rubber ice cube tray,(ikea 99p) fragrance oil and wax.
  9. yep as long as there is enough water in the bottom one, but please dont use mums good pans as she might stop you before you get started!!
  10. i can vouch for gaynor have bought from her ebay site:)
  11. there in one in germany however at the minute im dammed if i can find the link i had saved will keep searching though:)
  12. hi just looked at your order and its middle of the road price wise for the uk, unfortunatly our candle things are expensive over here:( in comparision to USA. I would suggest that if your determind to do this as you seem to be then one thing you really MUST buy is a thermometer(spelling) to check the temp of your wax, you can buy one from any good cook shop and please be safe:)
  13. believe us from the uk for candle making supplies we wish we were

  15. then i would suggest at first you buy some beeswax sheets for candle making to begin with as there is no melting of wax, no having to make sure you wax is at correct temperature, and worring of wax igniting! as many of us have learned at a lot older age wax is not something to be "played" with as it can be extremely dangerous if not handled correctly, and im sure im not the only one that would say so. Please take no offence but there are "childrens" kits to be bought, again that are safer for some one of your age. I am sure that other children have made candles even my children have helped but with strict and i mean strict supervision, im the one melting the wax checking temp etc Be care ful out there as hot wax has the potential to do some serious damage not only to your self but your parents home!!
  16. i dont mean to be personal but how old are you? if you click on some of the sites they may have some contact details that you could phone them

  19. you could try internet searching for suppliers in your area, but have to say internet suppliers are better to buy from especially if they come recommened
  20. hi have you looked on Jo's site for FO's? (scents you have picked sound ok, just try a few at a time) believe me i know i have more than i should do many will also say the same lol its called a scent addiction. Also noticed no vybar or sterin on your list these help with mould release and FO throw, but no need to use at same time. also noticed you have just one set of wicks, try midnightstarx as she does a tester pack of various size LX wicks Cant advise regarding quality of 4 candles uk as i have never bought from them but keith who owns http://www.candelights.co.uk/ is also a member on here have a look through his site and compare prices hope this helps
  21. craft wise in leeds hobby craft can only think of them of top of head that you can walk into and buy but hobby craft can be pricey Jo from sensory perfection although she is internet based, but if you can look at her site, im sure you can write/telephone and talk to her, have her address will need to check to see if ok to give it out also in back of some candle making books will give you a list of suppliers http://www.craft-fair.co.uk/suppliers.cfm?SubCatno=144&category=Candle%20Making have look at these as ringing round they may be able to help??
  22. have few fragrance oils not using that may be of some use and some cheap moulds but as gaynor said try hobby craft, or let us know where abouts you are and can point you in shop direction fingers crossed
  23. not sure where in the uk you are but do you have a Hobby craft by near you as they have a small range of candle making stuff if you let us know where abouts you are can try and point you in right direction, some craft shops have a walk in where you can browse, ie craft wise in leeds not sure about making your own wicks some one else may be able to help you http://www.craft-fair.co.uk/suppliers.cfm?SubCatno=144&category=Candle%20Making
