    Ordered some FO Friday and received it MONDAY! I live in Mississippi. Can you believe it?! And on top of that the shipping was only $7.20. I'm in heaven. Kudzu, pomegranate, and vanilla frosted grahams smell great! I'm kinda on the fence with the caramelized pralines...hopefully that will smell better in wax.

    I do it as a hobby. I'm a teacher and have an antique business. Why did I ever start this? Now I'm obsessed. Started out buying wax and stuff from Hobby Lobby...then I found this board and BOOM! I've been doing it for less than 6 months altogether and I'm in for way over a grand. It is like Hotel California...you can check in, but you can't check out!

    I love Peak's Pink Sugar. Does any other supplier carry that particular scent that may be closer to south Mississippi? The shipping is killing me. I've looked at several different suppliers but I would love to know if anyone has actually tried one. I ordered the Pink Sugar (Type) from Cajun's and didn't like it at all. It was totally different. (Now I know why thanks to the previous post:embarasse ) Thanks in advance.

    I bought a "Mad Love" pillar candle at Pier 1 and it tunneled right down the middle. No hot throw either. My worst candles have a better scent throw than it did. You would think you could get a good candle at Pier 1.

    I love NG's Carribean but I can't get it to throw very well in paraffin. Does any one know of a scent that is comparable and throws really well? Thanks~

    Thank you, Top. I just got this wax. Usually use 4794 and having to add the extras is new to me. I'll try the smaller LX.

    I made two testers last night. Brought one to school today to burn. After 3 hours it spilled over the side. Paraffin wax 1343A (10 oz), 1/2 tsp vybar 103, 1 oz FO (strawberries/cream Cajun), UV, LX 22 wick. Should I start with a smaller wick? Or would Stearic Acid make it harder and hold it's shape and not run over? By the way the scent throw is not very good at all....but it is a beautiful red candle! Thanks in advance for any help!

    Is this about right for paraffin wax? Vybar 103 at 3% per pound That would be .48 oz or about 1/2 an ounce per pound. I'm not even going to pretend like I'm good at math! Thanks!

    Wash them in vodka. That is what the professionals use when nothing else works to get the smoke smell out of houses.

    I'm using a preblended pillar wax 4625. So no additives here. Maybe I should try a straight paraffin and do my own additives to see what happens. Trying to put that off since I have plenty 4625 and shipping prices being what they are. Do you know or have any experience with this wax vs. a straight paraffin with additives?

    Please let me know how it turns out with the LX wicks and square molds. Creme Brulee (Cajun) is an easy scent too. Try it. Great hot throw. I haven't tried the other scents that you have. I'm testing a Carribean today and I think I'm in love. I'll let you know. Reminds me of "drinking an adult beverage while suntanning"!!!!! YUMMY smelling so far!

    Starless, I was about to give up until someone on this board told me to try different wicks. Finally success. There is a lady in our community that sells pillar candles and all of hers have a super strong scent throw. I've seen it posted several times here that pillars don't throw as strong as container candles. I'm telling you this lady makes loud pillar candles and they burn great. Mine are not as strong as hers but it is a work in progress. I wish I knew her secret! I know she uses different wicks too since I have a couple of hers and now know what to look for. What scent are you using?

    This may sound absolutely crazy but I'm using 3 different size wicks for 4 different FO. 51-32-18z, LX 16, LX 20. Finally got a decent scent throw for each candle after changing wicks several times. I can not get a scent throw from some wicks.

    Ok I've got my 3" pillars looking and smelling just like I want them...Success at last! YAHOO!!! Now my sister wants me to buy a square 3 x 3 pillar mold. Surely that will take the same wick since it is basically the same size. Is that right or will I have to start from scratch going from a 3" round pillar to a 3" square pillar? Please remember I am not a professional chandler but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night...

    Yea, that was the one. So do you think I put too much FO and that could have been the culprit? It was 1.2 oz of FO to 1 pound of wax.

    It is a 51-32-18 zinc core. I have a sample pack of wicks arriving today. LX wicks from Peaks. Any thoughts on which one may be a smaller wick than the one I'm using.

    Thank you. Yes, it is my first burn. I'm at school (teacher) so I've been watching it burn for about 2 hours. It smells pretty but not nearly as strong as I wish. I made a couple last weekend and tested... It didn't make a rim at all. Ran over sides and pooled. What is this a symptom of? Too much FO or wrong wick? I think the FO was Pear Glace' from Cajun. Thank you again.
