My tax lady told me same thing and then when it got down to it she didn't need the actual inventory broken out just the $. So I'd keep track of spending, sales and any product already made but not sold.

For sure those guides are just a starting point. I've found some that created underwicked and some overwicked candles. I think you're already on the right track but like everyone said it may differ from scent to scent. In my wax I found that heavy vanilla and some citrus scents required a size up.

That is crazy expensive for a small bottle of surfactants. It is not even soap.
all ingredients ending with “ate” and “aine” are surfactants used in various shampoos and liquid cleansers. The Epsom salts in that bottle is pretty insignificant for effect.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua) (EAU), Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Magnesium Sulfate, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Coco-Glucoside, Panthenol (Pro- Vitamin B5), Glyceryl Oleate, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Shea Butteramidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Phytate, Xylityl Sesquicaprylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids
you could try taking a nice shampoo and adding a little Epsom salt dissolved in water and see if the oiliness of the Epsom improves th feel.
There’s also a quaternary compound (quats) in the ingredient list that improve feel. Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey (Honeyquat) is a common ingredient in hair and skin care for improved feel used as a conditioning agent. This is where I personally would start. You can add it to any product you have currently to see if it is the performance enhancer you enjoy in that bottle of cuccio.

Thank you! I kept the bottle so I have the ingredient list, I'm going to experiment! It really leaves your hands feeling so moisturized you don't need lotions. I just won't pay $40 for any 8 oz soap. if it didn't come in my box I'd never even know it existed, which is how FFF gets products so cheap to include in a $40 box (massive marketing).

No it's Cuccio it came in my Fab Fit Fun box when I had membership there. It is amazing but $40 a 8 oz bottle.

This is so pretty! Did you pipe on the designs?

Has anyone tried epsom salt in their liquid salt recipe? Looking for a % to start with. TIA!
Asking because I have a bottle of name brand with epsom salt and Lavender EO and it is amazing.

I have a silly question about heating the jars before pouring the wax. I’ve wanted to put them in the oven to warm them (because sinkholes), but have been unsure about the best order of operations. Would you typically heat the jars and then continue with the wick assembly? I think that makes the most sense but I’m afraid of the jars being too hot to the touch. How hot should the jars be?
Lowest heat possible on your oven, most are around 200. I always set wicks after taking out or the wax primer on the wick melts and I fear the sticky tab will give in the oven. 4 trays (12 jars) fit in my oven. If I pull 1 tray of 12 at a time I can wick and pour fairly quickly and they stay warm.

I didn't seem to notice a difference with C3 soy wax but my ambient temp was on the warmer side. For Palm wax where you want those beautiful crystals to form, I noticed a big difference by heating the jars, pouring very hot and allowing it to cool slowly. Just another example of each wax is different, even soy to soy.

Longer is better with all vege waxes. I would try cutting back the beeswax to 2% of total coco wax and see if adhesion is better. It's not important if just wet spots but I wouldn't want the entire candle to be loose in the container.

I haven't had a crumbly problem but I have had pieces stick to silicone molds, esp the molds that are more intricate design or very thin. I pop in freezer for 3-5 mins and they come out perfectly.

I haven't used 464 in a long time but in any wax too much fo load can easily result in low or no HT.

I do what you said, soapy water then straight alcohol and allow to dry. Pumping alcohol through the pump will work but the alcohol will eventually ruin the seal so you can only do it once or twice.

min 2 weeks, longer is even better. There are tons of thread on here about this blend if you use the search.

I've heard people say that glass explodes or cracks but I personally have never had it happen. IMO if you use a glass made for candles and don't overwick it your chances of it happening are very slim. That being said I watched a clear glass Libbey coffee cup crack as the coffee was poured in and for that reason I stopped reusing glass for candles (Unless it was just for testing). Stress lines can form from high heat and then the glass will crack.

There was a discussion on this way back but I can't seem to find it in search. I tried calling it different things, maybe someone else will remember.

I have an Oreck 21 vacuum with a bag (not bagless with filters) so mine doesn't clog up at all from the baking soda.

So pretty and Spring/Summer! Lemoncello is also a fav drink that we make homemade.
-
If you are talking about carpet freshener, yes I make it but only with essential oil and baking soda. I use stainless powdered sugar shakers to hold it.

Love the spool one on the bottom. The other looks cool but also looks scary, I don't know if I'd like my flame on the edge like that??
-
Love it cut even more!

Also check at Dollar Tree if you have one, they carry the Libbey Tumblers in clear sometimes.

Where are you located?

Honestly right now I see it going up if you have an online presence. If you did fairs/shows they have been cancelled everywhere in the US and I notice reschedule dates are late June or July and who knows if that will happen? I have seen a slow down in getting any kind of supplies and soon our suppliers won't have the items sourced from any overseas company and I'm not sure how long it will take for a catch up. I recall years back when everything was sitting in the docks in Long Beach & Los Angeles for over 4 months and some suppliers were wiped out of supplies. I remember because my candle warmer order was sitting there.

I've worked with both as well. It is preference. I never had good luck with HT using 464 with too many scents so switched to primarily C3. There are people here that have great luck with 464. Test and see which you like.

Didn't realize that is a food storage container, I've seen them in Ikea but probably way pricey. Idk where to buy in bulk with the lid.
