  1. I don't think anyone was ROLF...we've probably all been there with something! I also use C-3, have remelted with good results and also with bad results...mostly the color was the problem, some frosted badly after remelt. I've now gone to all natural (no color) and remelts work great.

I'd like to know how to wick after the candle starts to set up? You mentioned poking a wick hole...what do you use to poke the hole, wooden skewer? I'm thinking that might resolve my bubbles around the wick as my wickless candles come out nice and smooth on top.

  2. Thanks for the info, the problem is shipping charges, it doubles the cost of wax when I order from suppliers out of my area (Southern CA). I can actually pick up the Cargill C-3 in North Hollywood from Gen Wax and I think I'm just going back to that and dealing with the bubbles around the wick and the occasional sink holes! I'm by no means experienced, but I'm starting to think that you just need to find a wax you like and work out the problems until resolved rather than trying every wax out there???:embarasse

  3. www.thesoysensational.com

this is the website. Several manufacturers list the suppliers on their website and I can get some info that way, but I can't seem to find this one. They claim it is 100% soy, it has a very low melt point and pours quite well, good adhesion, but it cracks after it cures...looks good for the first 3 days! It is so soft that I doubt it has any pillar wax in it, but I'm thinking some type of additive?? Of course, I'm just guessing here!~!:D

  4. :embarasse I'm very frustrated with the suppliers "renaming or renumbering" the soy wax. I'm having a hard time telling if I am double testing! I've searched the archives and can't find a listing of who carries what brand...Oh, did I mention that most of the suppliers won't give me the information! Does anyone know if such a listing exists and where to obtain it? If all else fails, I'm sure I can contact the manufacturers directly and find out who they supply to in my area (or specific companies I'm buying from.)

    :embarasse

  5. Love the name of your company! That's exactly how I feel at times. I also am using C-3 as I can pick it up locally and save $$$$ on shipping. Sometimes I get sink holes, sometimes I don't. I find it works best in room temp tins, don't know why. Cold glass, warm glass, hot glass...some come out fine, some sink????

I'm ordered EZ soy and loved the way it poured but almost every candle cracked either slightly or completely through??

My next step will be testing the two together???:D

  6. I'm not sure if this will work for the ball, but I bought some molds that you wick after cured and the instructions state to heat up a thin nail or long metal object and then stick it into the candle where you want the wick when it cools slightly you can remove it and insert your wick. It works fine for up to 4", but I'm not sure if it will work on a larger candle.

  7. I'm with you on this color situation, I'm pretty new at this and thought that was the problem, but speaking to others found out it is just an issue with soy. I spoke to a lady who has been doing this for years and she almost never colors her candles as she loves the creamy white of the soy. Lots of labels, but you have to make tags or labels anyway to sell them.
