  1. Having a bit of a fragrance dilema and looking for a little advice/insight. I ordered a bunch of fragrance samples from JS. One order about a month ago and the other I got last week..So far I am not finding that they are throwing that well or at all in my KY125. A couple have done okay after 6-7 days of curing…..not sure I want to wait that long….I have a few more poured up to test and many more I haven’t put into wax yet…..

My dilemma-since I haven’t had much luck with throw so far, is it worth my time and wax to test the others I have or should I try to find similar scents through another supplier?

    To pour: Poured:

Bayberry Apple Spice and Holly-good throw-odd smell

Appleberry Spice Cashmere-no throw after 6 days

Captivatingly Currant Frosted Ginger Mint – light throw-6 days

Country Christmas My Secret recipe – need to burn again

Festival of Lights Mystique – need to burn again

Grapefruit Mint Rhapsody Pink Peppercorn – finally starting to throw/6 days

Green tea and Cucumber Pink Bombshell – very light, need to burn again

Lemon Magnolia Yuzu – slight fuel

Lemon Sugar Exhale – light, could burn again now

    Mediterranean Fig

    Provocative

    Satsuma

    Sunkissed Currants

    Sweet orange Pomegranate

    Santirini

    Sandalwood and Bee Blossom

Anyone have luck/no luck with any of the fragrances listed above in soy/cottonseed? I really like these Fo’s OOB and was so hoping at least some of these would work for me….

    Thanks for any help!

  2. Hi Candleman-

If you are looking for a good stron Pear-try Impeccably Pear from Scented Bean or Brandied pear from Candle Cocoon. They are both wonderful and the pear from Candle Cocoon I only used .75oz pp and Scented bean's just 1oz per pound.

Fresh Peach and Wild Watermelon from ICS are wonderful. I use KY125 and have had no problem with thrown on any of these.

I have not tried a straight honeydew or anyone's cuc melon. I mix my own Cuc Melon using KY's Cucumber and Melon Mist from NG.....

    Hope this helps a little

  3. Hi Candleman-

I did burn the JS Yuzu last night and up close there seems to be a bit of a fuel smell-wasn't strong though to me. But if I just walked into the room I couldn't notice.....

Other than that how does the NG version compare to JS?

    Thanks

  4. Hey Angela-

I will most definitely let you know about those 3. OOB I like all three. The Sandalwood and Bee Blossom-you definitely pick up on the honey....

My Secret recipe-does smell like eggnog OOB

Yuzu-you can pick up on the grapefruit aroma, but it's not as intense-there's other good scents in there too-it's a very nice combination.. I unfortunately am not good at descriptions....it's very fresh though....

I have to get these in wax this weekend....I am thinking the Sandalwood and Bee Blosson will be good in soap-I only do MP, but I still think it will be good....

  6. Hi all-

I just got my first order of samples from Just Scent. I love all the ones I got. Just wondering what your experience has been with percentage of FO in soy or soy/cottonseed.....I use KY125. I am hoping to get as many of these as I can in wax this weekend to test.....

    Thanks for any input.

  7. Potpourri does really well for me in the fall and actually, I just brought some in to my office for the first time and it sold well-I put some in a pretty jar and set it on my desk-got quite a few sales that way.......

I get mine pre mixed and blended from Stone Stew. Linda has beautiful blends and the fragrances are awesome-her prices are great too. She is wonderful to work with.....

  8. Thanks Crafty-

So far my CD18 is working really well. I had a fear about wicking when I poured these. I know my vanilla (when poured by itself) in this jar smokes with a 62C and figured a CD20 might do the same. I was hoping that I'd get a good burn on the blueberry and strawberry with the 18 and so far so good-the blueberry is wonderful and it's just starting the blend with the vanilla.......

    Thanks for the help

  9. Good Morning All-

I am working on making some 4th of July layered jars. I poured up a tester just to see how it would turn out and if I really wanted to do these. I love the way it turned out. My question is....is it better to pour all the layers the same fragrance? I used blueberry, vanilla and strawberry, but now as my candle is getting down into the vanilla part, it's blending with the blueberry (I had the blue layer on top).

I am wondering if the vanilla will ever truly smell as the vanilla or if I will have more of a blueberries n cream or blueberry muffin smell-of course once it's gets into the strawberry.

    Just curious....

    Thanks
