Edited to add: Thanks for all your helps!!!

  2. I don't make these, but I've read enough posts to *think* this was done by scraping the wax w/ a wire brush.

    Susan.

Yep thats how its done,,,Ive seen others do this too,,,Not a bad looking Candle though,,,I have a book that shows this technique

  3. There is a Sun & Sand from WSP - very good.

Forget this - what I get for not reading all of post!!

:laugh2:Thank you anyway grama,,,I think I found it at JustByNature.com

P.S. Its not a yankee scent, She tried buying a votive that was called Sun & Sand and it wasnt it,,,It doesnt have any description on the jar of where it came from either:undecided

  5. OMG, why did I have to read this?

    Description from their site:

"The essence of sensuality captured in this fragrance with it's aromatic blend of exotic amber, elegant frankincense and myrrh with just a whisper of patchouli. The tiny top notes of Rose and other lovely florals gently tickle your nose and drifts softly into an musky background. Egyptian Dragon soaps perfectly and turns a lovely soft caramel color after curing. We tested it in a perfumers alcohol base and received complements too numerous to mention. The staying power is beyond compare. For pure sex appeal, this fragrance embodies the seductive scents of mysterious Ancient Egypt."

    OMGosh,,I must get this one!!!!:shocked2:

  6. Did anyone notice that these container instructions are from the CT site of Basic Instructions? I dont know Italian BUT I do know these pics!!:angry2:

Riempire, come nella foto, fino quasi all’orlo, senza colmare completamente.

Chiudere e decorare.

  7. I was getting ready to make a light box and my hubby came home with a Studio in a box he found at Wal-mart. He had bought me an excellent camera for my birthday and then last week he bought this studio. It comes with 2 studio lights, camera tripod, the box with 3 back grounds, Blue, Black and white and a carrying case for 50 dollars.. I love it and have been using the heck out of it. My MIL has started doing ebay and I have been doing her pics for her,,,I LOVE it. I use Paint shop pro for my editing and enhancing and such,,,Thought I would share this with all of you.

Im hoping to get some pics of my candles done when I get my MIL situated,,,:cheesy2:

  8. HI Liberty, What is the name of the wax? And how much scent and color was she using per LB of wax? The reason I ask is because I use 25% container wax and 75% Pillar wax (4625) and when someone else comes on they will ask you for all that. I am sorry I can not be of much help but there will be someone that will chime in soon to help,,,

  9. Go ahead and try. The FP of wax is over 300 degrees, so set your digital thermometer to beep at 250 this is still way lower than the FP and you can adjust if you need to.

I also like the pour temp on my molded candles around 165-168 in preheated molds. If you are pouring to hot you'll get them too.

    Karen B

Thanks Karen for answering. Okay I will try it and see how it goes. I usually always pour around 170,,Thank you again!!

  10. HI Everyone, I have had a case of IGI-4625 for a little while now, I guess about 4 months. After making my candle baskets for the silent auction I opened my other box and the wax LOOKS fine. I put it in the presto pot, melted it (noticed a wee bit of popping)< it went away,,,Used Peaks FO's poured pillars and votives like I always do, and they looked okay when I de-molded them and after about 8 hours they started to fingernail!!!!! Now whats with that????

The only time I ever had problems with fingernailing I was using gemlites FO, After I stopped using them it quit....So now what do you all think??? HELP ME PLEASE?!:cry2:

Edited to add: I bought this case in the classys so I cant call a distributor. I looked in the archive and seen Allens suggestion on cooking the wax at 225 for thirty minutes kinda scared to do that.
