I thought I was the only one who had this problem! This is the reason I took the pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant. I could smell EVERYTHING, I knew something was up. Thankfully it did fade over the next few months. Thank God! I kept telling myself that I'm never gonna be able to change a diaper if I can't even stand the smell of walking through the grocery store meat department. Congrats!

Smelly Jelly crystals can also be burned in a "tart" burner. They don't melt though, they just dry up. They are made from a polymer.

I get my crystals from Home Depot. About $7 for around a pound of them. I found them right in the gardening supplies.

You could also use water soluble paper to print out any image you'd like and embed that into your soap. There are plenty of awesome examples in the archives.

I really like NG Juniper Breeze. Customers seem to like it too. Very clean floral scent...

I had the very same problem. We couldn't figure out if it was pouring the balm too hot or putting them in the freezer to cool. When we stopped doing both, we didn't have anymore problems.

So instead of confusing the hell outta everyone with leolilyshandmadeluxuries.com we decided on leolilys.com. It's a very important decision, don't rush it. Good luck with figuring out a name. I'm jldorrington's business partner. Yes, I definately feel the same way. I think we have a good thing going for us, mainly because we weren't best friends before we became business partners. I don't think it would have worked out nearly as well if we were any closer. It is a tough decision to make...especially with your "best" friend. IMO if you were afraid to tell her that you were uncomfortable with the idea of going into business with her, imagine how it would be if you were working together. Sometimes you need to be brutally honest if you don't like the way someone is handling business, especially if it is your business on the line. Maybe an option would be for her to make B&B and you make candles, but not in the same business. You could have fun working on things together, and not have that commitment. You could bring each other customers and even sell each others product, be it wholesaling or whatever. That way you both have total control over how you run your own business, but can share it with your friend. Just an idea! I just think that if your initial reaction was, "no", then there was a legitimate(sp?) reason for it. Good Luck!

I don't think that I was overfilling them, but we do travel with them alot. That is a good idea to use the lids just for traveling to the shows, then putting the other lids back on. I just do not want to use canning jars instead of these lids. I love the flower cut out, and so do my customers. And the whole canning, jelly jar look isn't what our company is going for. What do you recommend for shipping them? We are working on a website, and will be shipping very soon. Do you think that if I just put on our warning label to wipe off lid and rim immediately to remove any FO that may have came into contact with the lid during shipping? Also, would the metal liners fit under the flower lids that come with these jars? Thanks for all your help.

We use NG monkey farts in their 100% soy wax. And we have the same problem(well, not exactly a problem). People love this scent!

Sorry if this is not the right area to post this. If so, let me know...Anyways, I am having a huge problem with my smelly jelly jars. I use the pretty bulb 12 oz jelly jars from NG. Was thrilled with them at first...especially thilled to use something other than quilted jelly jars(ughh!). I've recently noticed that the ones that I have made up in stock are not doing so well. The plastic liners that come with the jars are melting and dissolving! I'm soo pissed! I would assume that liners that come with these jars that are made to use for smelly jellies that will obviously contain FO, would be FO safe! My stock is gonna be dryig out, not to mention I have a show in the next week or so. I really do not want to sell damaged merchandise, nor do I want to discount my product because of this. I don't know what to do. I just emailed NG and am waiting for a response. It says right on their site that they aren't responsible blah blah blah... I just can not believe that they would knowingly sell a defective product. I also can not believe that I am the ONLY person this has ever happened to. Has anyone had this same problem? Any suggestions on what I should do about NG, or how I should temporarily line my jars?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use the 7up cake in my smelly jellys, and love it. I usually don't like baked scents, but this one is nice. It is very strong though, so be warned. I've sold quite a few of this scent...people seem to like it, so thats all that matters. I've also used the baby powder. I personally HATE the smell of baby powder perioid...but if you like it, it is dead on. Good for baby shower favors.

lol Yea, sorry! I meant candy flavor oil. Good eye though, wouldn't that have been a disaster?

Thanks so much! I never thought about using candle flavor oils for lip balms...I guess it would make sense though, huh? I'll give it a try. They have a very good selection, so I hope I have a good experience with them. Has anyone ever used this supplier before?

Some one please help me! I've searched all my usual suppliers and cannot find a cookies and cream flavor oil. I got a request for some lip balm and was hoping to fill it ASAP...Any suggestions?

Since my daughter was born last year I haven't had much time to do much of anything. I'm just getting into all this candle and b&b stuff and love it, but other than that I used to be an art major in college. I was majoring in ceramics at one point an LOVED it. I was always more into sculptural ceramics and handbuilt rather than working on the pottery wheel. It was all good dirty fun! When we get our house I plan on getting my own ceramic studio and getting back to work. Yay!

I know they don't have to cure, but I was told that they are sposed to be wrapped immediately to avoid sweating. My question is can I just put them "naked" in the organza bags and how long after they are wrapped can I unwrap them, I would prefer them not to be wrapped in addition to the bag.
