  1. Thanks for the responses! WSP did get back to me, thank goodness. She said that heating it should get it back to normal, but so far it's not there yet. I don't want to try much heat because of the preservative issue, but sitting in a sink full of hot water isn't quite doing it yet, and I have 12 gallons to do this with. Ugh.
  2. I got a huge order of lotion base delivered to my porch and it froze. I didn't realize until now that it having frozen could be a huge disaster. It's a bad consistency now, kind of chunky, and doesn't get better when it's mixed up or rubbed into the skin.I have a HUGE order I need to get out on Monday, and 12 gallons of lotion I can't afford to replace even if I did have time. Is there anything I can do to get this lotion back to a good consistency? Would heating it up do any good?I contacted my supplier (it's WSP goat's milk) but since it's the week-end I don't know if I'll get a response in time.Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm freaking out more than a little bit right now.
  3. Someone asked about the waterproof labels. I ordered sample sheets of the regular "water-resistant" labels and they failed the very first test. When I ran water over the label on a bottle once it ran right away. Not terrible running, but the ink seemed to wash out of the little grooves of the surface, and mysterious blue patches appeared to be leaking from the back. It doesn't look awful, but not professional either. I'm kicking myself for not ordering a couple sheets of the Ultra Water-resistant at the same time, but after the raves I wasn't expecting the regular ones to fail so quickly.
  4. In my pot is some cold EZ Soy waiting to be turned into 8 oz jelly jar testers, but I don't know if I'll get to them since we're leaving town. :embarasse I'm thinking of bringing along supplies to work on lip products while we're gone. I must be an addict if I want to work on week-ends away from home.
  5. I've been testing votives for what feels like my entire life. Smaller wicks like CD 7 and 8 work great in smaller containers, but they drown out immediately in a larger cup. So I'm trying 10, 12, and even 14 and the 10 and 12 are drowning out as soon as the MP overflows too. There are only a few FOs that are working in a 12 and none in a 10. A 14 seems so big to use in a votive, especially in what feels like would need to be the majority of my votives. But I know that my customers will NOT burn in just a tightly fitting cup, so I want something that will work in a larger votive container too. Anyone else gone through this? Is a CD-14 crazy big to use in most of my votives? I use Ecosoya PB with UV inhibitor, 1 oz FO PP, and no dyes.
  6. Thanks for the information, Bill! It sounds like applying the seals is pretty easy. I'm placing my order now!
  7. Hmm, I've found BCN's lip balm to be really nice, as have my customers. I've only heard raves about how moisturizing it is. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!
  8. Thanks for the Bayousome link. They look great! It says they work well if correctly applied. How do you apply them? And does anyone know which sizes fit 2 oz and 8 oz bottles? I'm not sure my own ruler-measuring will be accurate enough and I don't have time to mis-order and reorder correctly...
  9. I've heard that lilac is an aphrodisiac for men. That's the scent of most of our bedroom candles.
  10. I've had a customer tell me that her lotion bottle opened up in transit and she had a big messy lotioney mess. Is there any way to prevent this that will still look professional? I'm not sure I just want to tape around the bottle cap and I'm not sure if those sealing discs will really do the job. I can't imagine that shrink wrap would work that well either. Anyone have any suggestions?
  11. Wow, I'm over your soap pics! Good call moving them to the main page. They even drew me in, and it takes a lot to get me to look past the first page of any site. Good work, Scented! I'm hoping you'll be around to critique my website in a few weeks!
  12. BCN Hot Fudge Brownie is great and throws really well in soy. 1 votive scented my large bathroom, hallway, and into the adjoining rooms!
  13. WSP are not good, in my opinion. I used the recommended amount and got no sweetness and barely any flavor or scent. I'm going to try blending a small amount of them with my awesome BCN flavor oils to see if I can get some use out of them. I love BCN but wish they had more variety and more "grown-up" flavors.
  14. Just poured some Pink Sugar votives and a small tester batch of Creme Brulee votives. Second big pouring day with my Presto and I'm loving it!
  15. I had the same experience with BCN Coffee, but it throws really well as a Mocha when mixed with Hot Fudge Brownie. YUM!
