  1. Sounds great, this might be the "It Factor" to get your name out there full blast if it isn't already. I think it might be something you can handle, although do you think it will interefere with your day job especially if they can have 400 orders at a time? You may have to reevaluate the day job, if you haven't done so already. I say go for it, when an opportunity comes up afterall sometimes opportunities like this don't come knocking twice. As far as the coloring goes, I'm sure it won't be hard to master with good notes!!

    I wish you the best!!!

  2. Good Lawd Cozy! These look fabu girl! I'm glad I'm in this swap! whoohoo! :yay:

Thanks CBE, that means alot!!! I just felt like I had to step up my "game" a little. :grin2: All of this motivation on this board and others makes me want to make my soaps a little more appealing to the eye. I just hope you like the receipe as well.

BTW, I can't wait to try each and every one's bar of soap...I just luv swaps!!!

  3. Hey if you can get all of your supplies from one supplier, you're doing great, I have a handful of suppliers that are all one or a couple of states away to save on shipping. Since I am in GA, I usually stick with suppliers in FL, SC, NC, TX or AL. The farthest I go North is TN, and the furthest I go west is CO (I love Peaks). I don't think I could ever cut my list down to just one supplier, I love fo's to much!!

  4. I'm not sure how a real Gardenia smells, but most of my customers say Peaks Gardenia smells similar. I guess I will have to have my own investigation to see if it's a good dupe or not.

  5. I thought this new info might interest you ;) , I've smelled the YK brand so if JS is anything similar I'm sure new business will be rolling your way...good luck and let me know how you prospective customers enjoy it as well.

I haven't tried it - but I have three people that have been bugging me for it. One is my nail tech who just opened a shop....so I have to get it - cause that is future business there...lol. The other is my hair dresser....same thing...

So I will break down and order.....sigh...lmao

  6. I received an email saying that JS now has Vanilla Lime in stock, I don't know if it's similar to Yankee's but I can't wait to try it and find out. If anyone has tried the sample or found one similar to the one at Yankee please let me know :grin2: ....thanks!

  7. I know exactly what you're talking about I have some myself, and I put potpouri (sp?) in mine or depending on the scent that particular item. For example, if it's a lavender candle it's lavender bulbs at the top. I did some for Christmas and I put cinnamon sticks in the top. I got mine from someone off of Ebay. But I'm sure you can try various glass suppliers like Candles and Supplies, they have a couple on their site under the heading Apothecary Jars, try this link

    http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Apothecary+Jar+Lids&product%5Fid=4527%2DC

    Good Luck!!

  8. Check out Z's tutorial on rebatching in the tutorial section, her tutorial may help you out alot as it did for me when I did my first rebatch. :wink2:

You can find it here: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69598 . Also, there are tons of info in the archives, do a general search on rebatch and will find loads of information...

Normally, water isn't needed if your soap is fairly new, (any soap less than 2 weeks old), however since you did a discount you may need water, but you may want to ask an expert or see if you can find something in the archives. Eugenia, is pretty good at rebatching so she may chime in any minute but if not she has several post on rebatching in the archives.

    Good luck on you search!!

  9. I'm doing mother's baskets this year, I am only doing five fragrances (cucumber melon, gardenia, sweet pea, lavender, and french vanilla). Maybe next year we can get into individual requests, I stuck with 5 fo's to keep it simple, there are 5 products (4 to 5 oz bar of soap, 3x3.5 pillar, 10 oz of bath salt (I just luv the msgr bottles from bayousome), 4-2 oz votives and and bath sponge.

I passed out flyers last Friday at the J-O-B and so far I got 11 orders, with more to come this week I'm sure. Order deadline is this Friday, I made some things in advance just in case but other things I am making as orders are placed.

I am attaching my sample basket which is going to sit on my desk, I just got an order from Vista print so I'm eager to show off my new business cards as well as my new car magnet, a copy is going in each basket you will notice one in the pic. I hope you enjoy.

  10. Working on my mother's day baskets, all orders should be in by the 2nd. I am only offering 5 scents: Lavender, French Vanilla, Gardenia, Sweet Pea, and Cucumber Melon. Basket contains 4 to 5 ounce soap bar, 3x3.5 pillar, bath salts, and 4-2 ounce votives plus a bath sponge. So far alot of the pillars and votives are done as I did a bunch before flyers were passed out on the job in certain scents. Friday alone I got 11 orders so I'm a busy little gal!!!:yay:
