  1. I've never done a fundraiser but I print my own brochures. You can download a template off the Microsoft website and play around with it until you are satisfied. If you have a digital camera, you can even insert some photos of your products on your brochure as well. Send it out to friends, family, neighbors, co-workers. You may be able to generate sales this way without having to jump into a fundraiser before you are ready for it.

  2. People make firestarters out of different things ... pinecones, potpourri, wood chips, etc. I fragrance leftover wax with cinnamon FO then mix with hamster litter (the pine shavings). I scoop it into little paper cups, such as the kind you put mints or nuts in at a wedding shower, top off with some dollar store potpourri for looks, insert leftover wick pieces, and let them set up. I use soy wax and my experience has been that the wax pretty much burns away.

  3. I have been packaging sets of container candles in crates and then shrink wrapping them. However, I did not have an impulse sealer and found it very difficult to shrink wrap without one. Today the light bulb finally went off! I have a Seal-A-Meal in my kitchen and it suddenly dawned on me that the sealer part of this gadget (without using the vacuum) just might work to seal the shrink wrap. Needless to say, it worked PERFECTLY to seal the ends of my packaging before I shrunk it with my heat gun. I just sat thinking to myself, "Why didn't I think of this sooner?!":rolleyes2

  4. I do both ... mix in the presto and mix in the pour pot. Just depends on what I'm doing. If I'm making several different scents in one day, I'll just have my pots melting wax and mix the FO's and dyes in the pour pots. If I'm just working on one particular scent, I'll do all the mixing in the presto. No problem with cleaning up ... just wipe clean with a paper towel, then I use a soapy rag to wipe clean and dry with a towel.
