  1. I have also played with stearic acid and vybar (small amounts) separately and together and still did not achieve anything close to Beanpods product. Maybe I need to try again with varying amouns?
  2. I also was thinking along your train of thought. I've used many straight soy brands and a few parasoy blends and Beanpod seems to look and act more like a blend. I wonder if there's somewhere to send a sample of their wax to be analyzed.

  5. not happy with quite a few fo's from NG. Really like Candlewic's fo's has a "ultimate fo category" very strong scents even in soy. Also Justscents has great fo's and lists "strong" or "light" in soy. Have been very happy with both companies.

  7. I think you are using too much stearic acid which can inhibit scent throw. I'm not sure but I think you are supposed to use 1/2 to 1 tsp. per pound of wax which should also enhance scent.

  11. Thanks fo answering. I'm from near Chicago and I often order from Miller Creek, they seem to have the cheepest prices on wax and the fastest and cheapest shipping then others I've tried. Wanted to give Calsoy a try though.

I've been making soy candles for more than a year now and you guys have helped solve some of my problems just by reading, thanks. I was wondering if anyone ordered Calsoy from Swan and do you know approx. shipping costs for 50 lbs. Thanks again, you guys are great.
  13. I use an "old fashioned" regular microwave all the time to melt down soy wax in jars, tabs and all. No problem.
