Hi I'm Lisa Canon. I have been in the candle/toiletry business for nearly seven years. I pour soy candles, make cp soap and make all sorts of toiletries. I was the former owner of Fragrant Expressions Supply (FES) and allowed someone to babysit the oils for me while taking care of a son that needed surgery and raising a grandbaby for another son. Family health issues got in the way and delayed our return. Long story short, someone sold my business out from underneath me and I'm back with a

OH heavens in this business I'm not sure I have dislikes. I love almost everything as long as it isn't a super heavy floral or perfume type of scent. Those give me headaches but sometimes it is worth the suffering. LOL

  1. Hi, do you still make fragrances? I'm in Oklahoma.

  2. It's actually been a rule for quite a while now. This is why most suppliers won't ship via priority mail. I had one tiny leak and I had a FAA Federal Investigator all over my tail. I had to turn up with paperwork and fax it that second or look at huge fines. Every since 9/11 it has hit our industry hard. No we aren't going to blow up a plane with a 4 oz bottle of Mulberry but rules are rules and we don't make enough to pay fines, plus I don't look good in orange. LOL The rules just keep on getting stricter. Hang in there girls. They can go parcel post. Hugs, Lisa
  3. Glad to hear you all like the merger. I have been busy private formulating some oils for some pretty big accounts. We still haven't recovered from the ice storm and this is going to be very slow recovery. It is really affecting our ability to ship in a timely fashion and keep the oils in stock. PLUS Rhonda has a better system set up and since we lost our shipping place during the storm the mess in the house was driving me nuts. I can only toss tableclothes over so many drums before it becomes obvious. LOL Rhonda is a great person and we are lining out the kinks so we can keep all oils in stock at all times and give you all better shipping. I will keep on developing new scents but at the present time I've got over 400 samples to test and no time to test. Being the control freak I am, I am the one to test. : ) Enjoy the merger folks, this will give you two suppliers and one shipping cost. Plus the combination of our sales volumn will probably give her even more discounts with her shippers. I think it is win-win for everyone. I'm finalizing any outstanding orders I have this weekend and week and then I'm done as a full time supplier, unless it is 25 pound lots and private development. If someone wants private oils developed that is my speciality and that is where I shine so I will be available for that and can focus on that aspect of it all. Hugs and wishes for an awesome weekend. It is time for a relaxing bath for me and some sleep. 5. Good morning Candletech family. On the question with the oils the situation here was a bit different. The suppliers sent the oil. The trip here wasn't easy and they were tossed from pillar to post basically. They were several days late arriving due to the delays along the way. They arrived at the UPS facility and there was no heat (it was very very cold here). They brought them to the house and I honestly don't remember if we were in the shelter or hotel that day. Naturally we weren't here. So they tried to deliver the next day, still no heat. So we weren't here. They held them at UPS for close to a week and shipped them back. When they arrived at the facility the boxes had been opened and some of them were dented. With the combo of the heat/cold/heat/cold, damage to the drums and the fact that the boxes had been opened they didn't want to send them back to me for fear of contamination. There was also some debris in the bottom of the drums.Sometimes when you get the drums they have a screw lid on them and a pull tab. This particular supplier didn't have the pull tab, therefore, anyone could have added something to these oils. I'm sure they could have tested, but they opted to send me fresh. They know I sell quite a bit and they knew of our situation. I think they wanted to make sure I had no other problems. If it had simply been an issue of the cold alone I think we would have been ok but there was some damage. From what I understand we didn't have the normal drivers as some were stuck in their homes and it was quite a mess.I feel this was more of a quality issue than anything else. Also wanted to thank you all for the tip to double return and get my paragraph. I'm not the smartest cookie in the jar when it comes to html and stuff.Have an awesome day folks, I have orders to ship and shea butter to package. If you all have other questions just post them I will be thrilled to answer.Hugs,Lisahttp://www.oklahomafragranceoilsupply.com
  6. HI ladies, we do have quite a few oils out of stock and we are working hard on getting them back in here. We had placed them on order right before the holidays and we had to wait for our facilities to open back up to produce the oils. (pb)Unfortunately then the oils were delivered while we were staying at shelters due to the ice storm. We spent a few nights in a hotel and a few in the shelters. I don't remember which day the oils tried to arrive but we weren't here. We had no electric for six and a half days. This forced many of our shipments back.(pb)After sitting in the warehouses that long our suppliers opted to offer us fresher oils and dumped those that they had originally shipped. They feared the extended time in the warehouses (without power as well) could cause some harm.(pb)It is a long road back from the ice damage and we are working very hard to get back on our feet. All windows are replaced, carpet is pulled up, water damage is being worked on. Our furance went out and we lost quite a bit from electrical surges as well. The place that we housed all of our shipping and packaging supplies and did most of our work was destroyed in the ice storm and now everything salvageable was moved into our home.(pb)I've done all the work and I'm waiting for insurance settlement now to help us get back on our feet.(pb)In the meantime I have been working on a fix to our shipping problem. Our business grew very fast and we love working with you all but with all the focus on shipping I'm not getting to formulate new oils for you all. With that said when we get back on our feet here in the new few weeks you all will notice much faster shipping, quicker turnaround from the time of your order, and much less out of stock. (pb)We appreciate your support and patience. We offer our prayers and thoughts to those currently affected by this crazy weather hitting us all this year. Deana, my dear, enjoy those oils. : ) (pb)Yes, would someone please tell me how to type in here so my words don't all run together when I hit send. I keep on typing html and it isn't very up to date in this old brain. LOL (pb)Hugs,(pb)Lisa(pb)http://www.oklahomafragranceoilsupply.com
  7. Flickers Fragrance has a great Cinnamon and it is skin and soap safe as well. Hard to believe but it truly is. They also have a great Cinnamon Buns. No, she isn't paying me, but maybe I could hit her up to pay me. LOL I've poured soy for years and they perform very very very well for me. I am picky about what I pour. As far as Bluegrass goes it is very hard to judge what oils are going to sell well and to balance the budget to bring them all in. I know Randy's mother had been very sick and I'm sure it is very hard for Tonya to keep up with it all. The supply business can be very difficult when times are good but with family health issues it always creates a new issue.I like giving them my business because I know they are family run and I just simply have backups in case I need it quickly. I know when I order to give them at least a full week to ship. If it gets here before that I'm excited. I know we can't always do that thought and it does make it hard sometimes. I'm guilty of slow shipping myself right now and lots of oils out of stock. Mine is for different reasons but we are working on calculating which are the top sellers and how to keep them in here a little better for everyone. Give Rhonda a try at Flickers, she is a great lady, easy to work with, ships fast. Hugs,Lisahttp://www.oklahomafragranceoilsupply.com
  8. Amy @ Rustic Escentuals now carries the original Heavenly Honeysuckle that I formulated when I first opened up Fragrant Expressions Supply. Since Angie sold it to her it says that it is a Soap n Candles formulation. I took the wild yellow honeysuckle and the hybrid red honeysuckle and freeze dried them and sent them to the supplier. With that they were able to extract and duplicate. So you might want to try that one. : )Hugs,Lisahttp://www.oklahomafragranceoilsupply.com
  9. Hi folks, just wanted to update you all and let you know that of the oils we had issues with through the supplier were overnighted to us and arrived today. This means those ladies that thought they were getting incomplete orders with me to ship later at my expense, well surprise your orders will be complete. We've been reboxing since 5:30 this morning and we are still at it. We hope to have all orders out of here tomorrow. Our new sale started today with free shipping over $75.00 and our unrefined shea butter buy at $4.00 a pound is going nuts. So I better get caught up now and not eat too much turkey. LOLEveryone have a great evening, please know we are working hard to get everyone their order in a timely fashion. This was a buy that just hit the snag of tied up manufacturers at this time of the year. I did allow for that and quite honestly the buy is going out on time. : ) I just would have preffered for it to ship early. Night night ladies,Lisahttp://www.oklahomafragranceoilsupply.com
  10. Sure you can pick up orders or we come to Tulsa quite often for DR appointments. We are in Pryor. Strawberry Musk was Angie but Rhonda at Flickers Fragrances has a great one you might want to try. : ) Have a nice day everyone. Hugs, Lisa http://oklahomafragranceoilsupply.com
  11. Thank you for the comments on our oils ladies, we appreciate it. We had planned on coming back to FES but it was sold so we now have our new company and have moved forward. So you will find all the FES oils now at Amy's and I will be releasing new ones. Hugs, Lisa
  12. I have personally tested these in soy: christmas pines spiced cider & chestnuts tuscan lace and they performed well. Her shipping is quick and the quality of her oils is excellent. I've poured the Autumn Spice & Cedar & Spice but haven't tested them yet. However, if Rhonda says they are good in soy I can tell you they are good in soy. She has several test for her and she uses her own nose as well. Hope that helps. Lisa
  13. Well hey there yourself. We are shipping as quickly as possible. I'm still holding up on that five hour catnap I had last night. Just got news that the other two oils aren't shipping till tomorrow so that delays me a bit, but won't hold me back. : ) Hugs, Lisa
  14. Now would that we nutcase in the good way or bad way?
  15. Morning ladies, nice to meet you all. Reporting in from beautiful Oklahoma today. Thing it is going to be slightly chilly again but we need some falling leaves to fill the pumpkin bags. Yes I am the former owner of Fragrant Expressions Supply. We had some family health issues (son needed surgery for seizures, husband's son gave us his baby, mother on hospice, daughter with rheumatoid arthritis, husband had serious health issues, etc.). It was more than I could handle at the time and I let a "friend" take over the business. Long story short that person no longer has my business and it was sold to someone else, not by me.:lipsrseal Everyone in the family is healed up and I'm back to play. Formulation is my thing. I love formulating new and different. It truly is a passion. Who else is up at 4AM sniffing bottles and writing down ideas? LOL Looking forward to getting to know you all. Have an awesome week. Hugs, Lisa
