  1. More than I want to do - that's for sure. Start on fund raiser, fill couple orders that have come in so far, make more stuff for Christmas Open House at friend's shop next saturday, keep grandchildren for several hours first think in AM, take Pepper (4 legged young'un out every 3-4 hours it seems, she knows when I am real busy!), and today I can't seem to get started. Work few minutes and then sit down at computer. Forums really slow work down, but I love 'em.

  2. Does anyone use the hemp wicks. I used them in my 5" 3 wick pillar and also am trying one in mottled, three layer 3" spicey pillar(paraffin) and I think I really like them. The wick burns straight up and has the prettiest oval to point flame if that makes sense. You know - like pictures they show icon4.gif

  3. I agree with Tish - I just put color and fo in my pot and then when ready to pour it put in my pitcher and pour. They are very easy to clean up. Anything under 2 lbs of wax though I do use my pour pot as a double boiler. It just seems easier to do smaller amounts in the pour pot. For my double boiler I use an old presto pressure cooker that the handle broke on and I always keep it warming with water. Help to have to clean out pour pitcher and also if you get interrupted - just put your pour pot in it. When I have a large job I have 2 presto pots and I use both of them. Couldn't make it without them.:D

  4. When I make mottled candles I always use the mottled wax. It is always hard to come out of the mold but if you put in freezer 5-10 minutes that will usually do it. This may sound crazy--but if it is still hard to come out, pull wick pin out - i use wick pins - and put your finger over the hole in the candle, and then blow from the bottom of mold. Something about the air seems to force it on out:laugh2:

  5. Well - I'am posting to my own post - I decided to use the Hemp 60048 wick for candle, can't remember why I ordered them though - forgot to mention it is made with IGI 4625 wax and scented with nutcracker from WSSP at 1 & 1/4 oz per lb. It smells delicious! and is burning great. Been burning since 8:30 this am. I did turn off the ceiling fan, they seem to not be good for pillars, even though my is always on, but just not right now. Got to get busy - spend way to much time at forums:yay:

  6. I just made container candles with Pumpkin Crunch Cake from Natures Garden and it really smells great, not real spicy like all the others. I also have been searching. I also poured the pumpkin pie spice from natures garden and it is not as spicy as the others I have tried and I think it is going to be good. If you get it don't go by the smell until you have made it. Also like perfect pumpkin from WSSP. hth

  7. Hi - New to group - been looking and finally decided to join. I think forums are a terrible thing (only kidding)---I spend all my time looking and not working---love to browse and see what others are doing!!:yay: I will be doing a candle party in couple of weeks and was wondering how do you "pay the hostess"? Do you give % of money made - only on what was sold that you had or do you add orders taken, give her gift basket worth how much, or give gift certificate and for how much? This will be my first and I really don't know. Thanks in advance for help
