  1. Thanks - after seeing some for 10.00 and some for 12.00, would love the 20.00 but don't think that will fly around here, I decided to hit the middle with 11.00. My friend at gift shop said valentine was not a big thing for her, this is a very small town so not sure what it will do. We hav to try don't we!

  2. What are you charging for candle made in the heart dish from Wal Mart? It holds a full lb of wax. The price that I am coming up with seems sorta high :undecided but I don't want to give it away. My figure for making it comes to 4.95. What are suggestions for selling it at icon5.gif

  3. I thought the name sounded familiar and checked and it was. I ordered some tartwarmers from them maybe last year and it seems they were a little slow but it seems like they said with the tart warmers it could take a while. I waited and the tart warmers I got from them were a big hit. They were very pretty - primitive looking. hth

  4. I do private label for 2 companies and I just put the warning label. One co I do make the labels for them and just put a small oval label on back of jar with my co name & etc. The other co I just put the warning label on. This co I "created" the scent for her and I don't make that for sale on my site. With your customer can you just rename the scent that she is buying? Oh, that reminded me, I did have another co that I wholesaled to and they renamed the scents. So they could charge what they wanted to because nobody could buy that certain scent from anyone but them. Not sure I'am making sense. Need another cup of coffee ( 2nd pot so far!) :yay:

  5. I have just got in my supplies for making them. Using the reed stick diffuser base from wsp and the apple jack & peel - 1/2 of each and it seems to be working good. Put 1 drop of red dye in it and you can see the reeds "soaking" it up. Seems to have a strong smell - if I can smell it I think it is pretty strong since I keep a bad case of "candle nose":yay:

  6. Remember "be careful what you wish (pray) for, it could just happen."

bugtussle - I totally agree with you on that. When I retired this July I prayed the same thing! Seems like I have been in overload ever since and I continue to give thanks for that, even when I complain. I said the Good Lords knows I am just tired!!

I have a shop built on to my house, so I never leave my job. My DH thinks he just has a cook around and that is about it!!!

Good luck - we all need a little rest after the Christmas Holidays!!

  7. I am also trying to "perfect" a 3 wick pillar about your same size. I think the biggest problem I am having right now are the druded little pin sized holes that I am thinking are due from splatters that occur as you are pouring. With a mold that big it is hard to keep it from splattering and that is exactly what the little holes look like. I tried wicking it with a hemp 60048 wick. I use IGI 4625 pillar wax. Think the wick might work, the next one I will try is a zinc 60. If anyone has ideas I would appreciate it also. So-----sorry, I can't be much help. :undecided

  8. I use both waxes - just depends on which one I am working with. When I make either pillars or containers I always pour my left over wax into tart molds and use them for the repour and then what is left is what is put in jars for my tarts. I use the quart - Golden Harvest I think - jars to store my tarts in. That way when customers want to smell , it makes it real easy for them to sniff!!:)

  9. I have the plug in tart burners I get from Levine and have a hard time keeping them in stock. They are a perfect gift for when you don't want to spend a lot of money but you want a nice gift, give it with couple tarts. They are very popular for bathrooms. I have them in my bathrooms and never turn them off. I have the other tart burners in my kitchen and never turn it off. In the plug in tart burners you cannot use the regular night lite bulb - they do not get hot enough. hth
