  9. I have wanted to try to make hurricanes. The ones here on the board are just beautiful. You say hurricane wax, is there a wax that you just use for hurricanes only? I went to one of the places I get my supplies and asked about making hurricanes. I was told you could use any kind of pillar/votive, I didn't think that was right. clc404 Cheryl C
  10. Hi sockmonkey I've never had a problem with them not melting the candles. When I see them on sale I usually grab a few. I don't use any bigger than a 4 oz or 8 oz container. I tried a larger container but it took so long to melt . clc404 Cheryl C

  13. Thanks for the replies. I was also wondering I did a search and some of the post said hurricane wax. Is this the same wax as the IGI 1260 or 5055 and 5560? Or something different. I want to try to get from a supplier close to Columbus, Ohio. The one supplier I went to told me to use M 38. I'll have to let them know you need a hotter MP. Thanks clc404 Cheryl C
  14. Hello everyone I want to try to make a Hurricane Candle. I think these are so pretty and would really like to master how these are make. I read the instructions in the general info section. My question is can you use any type of pillar wax to make these? In the instructions IGI-1554 was used, I have some M 38 and CBL 141 that I got as samples. I was wondering are either of these good to try to make hurricanes? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks clc404 Cheryl C
  15. Hello and welcome. What I do is after you take your candle out of mold take a pencil and wrap the extra wick around pencil. Hope this helps. clc404 Cheryl C
  16. Help. I made some pillars that I poured almost a week ago and looked at them today and they have small hair line cracks from center all the way to the bottom. What would cause this? I use Cargill NatureWax Votive/Pillar Blend. I heat wax to 180 add color at 175 add scent 160. Pour in heated molds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I made these for a wedding this coming weekend.  Cheryl C clc404
