Thank you. I use the 2.5" round labels. The lids are the same as the 8 oz jelly jar.
-
Thank you. I've had these jars sitting here for a while. Now that I've done one...there will be more.
I used 10 drops liquid yellow dye for the color. I make all my labels. Today I decided to jazz it up a little.

Every place is different. I don't need a business license here in Mullan, ID. I did get a tax number, my domain name from godaddy, and I registered my business name with the state.
I called the city clerk for the information that I needed.

Welcome to the board. You're soaps look nice.

Budget???? Too late for that.
Welcome to the addiction. It's a good one to have.

I believe you did a good thing. Did you send her a full size product?
I just recently kinda did the same thing...only I used the q-tip test. Dipped a q-tip in a few scents, put each one in it's own zip lock polypro bag and let him pick which one he liked. He wanted something that was fresh smelling.
I know that the oils smell different in product...but it gave him a good idea of what they are like.
I'm all for keeping customers happy.

I shrink wrap, then tape a paper label band, (my version of a cigar band) around it.

That is correct. They have the neon colors also, but I have only bought the regular colors. Keep the color mixing part of the box...it will help you mix colors to make other colors.

I haven't had a problem in the 3 years that I've been making my own lotions and soaps.
I only use 1 - 4 drops at a time for soaps (m&p).
My lotions and body butters only 1 - 2 drops.
-
I use food coloring. One drop is usually all it takes.

Good morning and welcome to candle making.
Try to buy from someplace that is close to you. Shipping on containers can be expensive.
Some places are:

I use ziplock polypro bags. For a single 1 oz melt, the bag size is: 3" wide by 3 1/2" high.
-
Metal tape here also.
-
I would like this word template also. Thank you so much.

They all look good. I like the wave ones. I've tried doing them once...need to try again.

Thank you Trappeur. The bottom of the heart candle is dark brown.
-
Those are pretty. Good job!!!!

I tend to favor my silicone molds. I do alot of 1 oz soaps in the heart mold.
I would like to try (someday) a loaf pan. I need to really work on my cutting. I can't even cut a piece of paper straight...let alone soap.
I also like my indiviual molds, (a hard plastic) that make 2 oz. and 3 oz. soaps.

Thank you. I got both molds from Let It Shine in Seattle. I use liquid candle dye...4 to 6 drops brown with 1 drop black.
-
You're welcome. Have fun learning to make soap.
Scared to Start
in General Candle Making Discussions

Welcome to candlemaking. I was scared to start also. I read everything I could (and still do). Finally I bought a kit...made 3 candles from that. I was hooked.
I had the thinking that all you had to do was put a wick in a container, melt wax, add fragrance oil, and pour.
Little did I know:smiley2:
That was almost 3 years ago. I have learned alot since then.
Keeping notes can not be stressed enough. I wasn't very good at this part in the beginning. I soon learned the importance of it. When you start mixing scents and colors together...you will learn to keep notes.
Have fun. Post your pictures and questions. We were all new at one time. I haven't found anybody on this board to say anything hurtful. Everybody is here to learn and help others learn.
