  1. REALLY cute!! love the berries. I did some little cake candles for a craft show and although i didn't sell as many as i thought they definately got alot of attention to my table! Even though i put a small sign infont to say they were candles some people didn't realise they were candles straight away, doh:grin2:
  2. i've just found a company that does a range of packaging including shrink wrap might b worth checking out. I haven't ordered yet am planning to this week but i did have a quirey wich i e-mailed and they replied straught back seem very helpful : www.candigifts.com Good luck would love to know where you finally go as i'm thinking of going down this route!

  4. after a couple more attemps with increasing the stearin it's finally come good! i did a layered candle with different berry shades and the finish was much better just by adding slightly more than normal!gonna try the same tonight on my chunky candles Ill cross my fingers and hope for the same finish -THANKYOU again!
  5. I've looked through and all the suggestions i've either tried or aren't suitable! I've checked out the forums and web sites suggested but stil can't find any thing suitable i'm doing a pty for my best customer and have used alot of games b4 like the left and right game pass the gift , have u ever and i'd love to find more like these possibly with a xmas theme i've found the dice one but any others would be a great help.
  6. I always get to the hostess home about 20 mins earlier than guests and remember to take a table cloth to protect hostess table! After introducing myself i usually start with the pass the gift game which relaxes everyone and gets them eager to play more games to win prizes , i find they appreciate it and order more!I try not to talk for too long and pass items round for the guests to smell- it keeps them interested! Remind them that you can take orders and it's not just what they see. Don't forget your diary incase others want to book a pty,and remember to relax and have fun!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I have added slightly mare stearic acid but was no better so am i melting it wrong should i dissolve it b 4 i add the wax? Hope i don't sound too stupid. i started from a book but doesn't give too much detail! your ideas have been great though!!!
  8. That looks great! I did a show 6 weeks ago. But my stall looked no where as good as yours! It was my first one and although i managed to full together anough stock, not nearly as much as you though people weren't reaolly noticing my stall so i got a few of the other stall holders to give me a few pointers and they said i lacked hight, so the next day my stall had more hight and more attention! I love the way you did yours they r sooooo right about the hight thing!!!! R there any other pointers u can share with me?
  9. Thanku for all ur suggestions guys will definately get some vybar! I'm just using straight parrafin and only adding stearic acid (think thats spelt right). Last night i tried it slightly different. I heated to 90 'c -sorry for not stating that b4- and then left in pan to cool to 84 before slowly pouring and it seemed to work, so could it b the temperature's that i'm using? Where can i get vybar from found a couple of places based in england but seem quite expensive if not i have to ship from america and thats quite steep also! This was the first time i used this msg board you guys r great!!!
  10. I've been making candles from parrafin wax using stearic acid and dye disks, i melt to between 80 and 84 degrees before pouring every time they have set small white marks appear through them! They're almost like little snow flakes!!! I've tried different temperatures but the nearest i've got to removing them was at 90 degrees and although i tapped the mould and pirced the skin i ended up with a candle filled with hundreds of tiny air bubbles. I've removed all additives but makes no difference, could anyone else recomend anything i could try???
