  3. I just cut my 2nd batch of CP soap. This is scented with cucumber Melon, I attempted the swirl. I found out later i should have used a coat hanger on chop stick. Well i'm making progess. This one looks better than the last batch. Thanks for looking and all the helpful comments.. Lisa;)
  4. I know what I did wrong on my first batch so I had to make another right away. This time I won't keep peeking in at it. I can't wait to unmold!:smiley2:
  5. Well it ain't pretty, but i am proud of it. It soaps up nice, and fells soooo soft. Can't wait to make more. Will the bars eventually look softer on the out sides of the bars, ore is there something that needs to be done differently next time. Also the color is alittle ash, what can i do to prevent this again? Feel free to critique. I hope u do!!!!! Want to get this right!!! Thanks Lisa
  6. I set my lye outside in 40 degree weather it cooled nicely. (in a safe protected area)

  9. It feels as tho it is setting up, just would like to know how hard it to should be . or if its supposed to be soft. I am in the dark as to how it is progressing. I am so hoppful for a good outcome... and thank yyou for your replyi used the Soapcal9 WP
  10. Wow that was interesting!! I made my own receipe too..how does this sound to any of u experts!! i changed my weights to oz 40 oz Olive oil 20oz cocnut oil 20oz soybean 2oz of castor oil 1 oz coc butter 31.54 oz h2o 11.592 Lye Now after all that, I need to know , what should i be looking for. Its been 5hrs. Its all nice and warm. in the oven. If you leave the oven light on, it keeps it nice and warm. Anyway thats where i am.. Should it be getting hard at this point??? I am nervous, that it might not come out right. What should i be looking for, as far as knowing if i am on the right track here???? Thanks Lisa

  14. Where can u find these items for making soap? Sheabutter, almond oil, coco butter, and palm oil. I have never made soap, so i am excited to try my hand at it. I want to be ready with all of the info that i am collecting today, cause first thing tomorrow I wanna start makein soap (after i round up the items i will be needing) I appriceate all of the info that i get here, it has been a terrific help to me!!! Thanks all!!

  17. Hi, never tried to make soap, but from what I read about making your own; once you use it you'll never go back to the other stuff. My question is, if you don't have soap molds. , what around the house can you use for a substitue. I have used sources available on this site for calculations and have made my recipe. I can't wait to get started! Any helpful tips before getting started?? Thanks... happy Holidays santa big
