  1. maybe they added something like shea butter, or coconut oil-the kind that gets hard-not the fractionated one or something like that... not sure how "hard/soft" the foaming bath butter stuff is, but i did see a few sugar scrub recipes using coconut oil... just a thought... Heather
  2. here's my suggestion... try doing just the first letters in your biz name Southern Scentsations of Arkansas Handmade in Little Rock, AR Then your scent name with the same first letter of each word with a different type and the rest something easy to read, like times new roman... just an idea, because with all that cursive it is hard to read, but with just the beginning letter in a cursive or whatever type of font you choose, you call more attention to it. jmo-for what it's worth... Heather and then your website address a little bit closer to the bottom... hth:D Heather
  3. ok, i know there was another post going about ICS best scents, but i didn't want to clog it up since i didn't know what wax they used. I'm looking to order snowtops cranberry spice scent and would like to order a few more of snowtops and some of ICS too. I use soy wax and a soy lotion base - and i prefer the bakery, food, drink, fruity type scents, but i do need to add a few florals-even though i don't care much for florals, i need to have them available for customers. I've never tried anything from either company. I need to place an order shortly- i did notice however that their melonade and raspberry lemonade? are out of stock currently, so i may wait til they come back in-they sound good... Thanks!!! Heather
  4. me too. it's not going to get here soon enough.. can't wait to take a shower and try it out!!!! i'm hoping when it comes it will have some label listing the ingredients. then i'll be able to help out with how we can create our own... here's the popsicle soap i was talking about... it looks good enough for a kid to eat, but there are a ton of people selling it... i don't want anyone to get mad, i just want to show you that there are other products out there that look exactly like food!!! and this one is meant for kids to use in the tub... at least the cookie dough doesn't have a spoon included, lol!!!! Heather
  5. very true, i never thought about that. i do have insurance... i guess my opinion is-did mcdonald's stop serving coffee because of 1 stupid person, millions of products are made daily that used wrong could be dangerous. does that stop you from making candles? because if used incorrectly, could start your house on fire... granted they have a much bigger legal team, and more $$ coming in to be able to pay fines, etc... they don't stop selling cars to people who are idiots and can't drive or leave their kids in the cars to die... unfortunately there isn't a test to see who can be a parent and who can't, cause imo there would be a lot less kids in the world today!!! i personally am not going to worry about a lawsuit, as long as any product i made is labeled correctly with any warnings that are necessary... it is just like some soap i seen on someone's internet site-not sure who-but it was popsicle soap.... and it looked like the real thing.... just something to think about.... as long as you've got your tail end covered, i would sell these products in a heartbeat... just my 2 cents worth... Heather
  6. i'll let you know if the label gives away any ingredients. as seen on the website, there is absolutely no labeling, but i'm assuming that it will have some sort of labeling on it when i get it. and it does say foaming bath sugar scrub... so i'm assuming it must have foaming bath butter and maybe just sugar and fo's... the oatmeal one, i saw a recipe on the web that had real oatmeal ground up a little in it... the stuff on the top made to look like "cinnamon" etc, is probably some sort of mica powder or something put in a shaker... i'm excited. by this time next week i should have an answer for you. the minute i get it and try it out i'll let you know. i'd love to make this for my mom and mil for mother's day... and some for myself too, of course!!! Heather
  7. well, i took the plunge and ordered some, so will let you know the results when i get it. it says 2-5 days... i ordered the chocolate chip cookie dough one-i want to see how the cocoa butter feels... will update when i receive my order... Heather
  8. I would say as long as you put a warning label-and probably bigger print, that it was for external use only... otherwise, tons of bakery candles, cute little soaps/tarts that are shaped like candies, and even bead type jewelry, etc. would not be safe. It would be the parent's responsibility for keeping it out of the reach of children. I say go for it, as far as a recipe, i looked around and i think if you followed a recipe for a thicker body scrub you'd be ok-some say you want a cookie dough consistency..... I was thinking of getting some from this place just to try it out. it would make a very nice gift for mother's day, valentine's day, etc. I'm going to go check out her other products and see what shipping is. it is a little spendy, but i bet it would go quite far... will let you know if i do order it... Heather
  9. sorry that's so big-i couldn't resize it... here's the websitehttp://www.funkydivashop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=645&osCsid=198d093acb5dd968cf3b4f6671ca0452 from their website: What do you get when you cross your favorite cookie with your favorite bath product - cookie dough foaming sugar scrubs! A yummy, no calorie way to enjoy one of our favorite snacks. To keep it genuine we even added small chocolate chips, which easily melt and are made of cocoa butter, which is good for your skin. Choose your favorite cookie flavor and ENJOY! Approx. 10 oz. would be neat to make that, bet it would sell good!!! Heather
  10. i've heard them called many things, but what do you think customers would recognize them as ? i'd love to have something a little more unique? instead of just wax melts. any ideas? Thanks. Heather
  11. i contacted create a shoppe plus today, and for some reason my site hadn't gotten transferred from the temporary to the permanent stuff yet... even though it showed my permanent address. which is why i didn't know what was going on. So, they will be fixing that shortly. Thanks for bringing that to my attention-so i could get it fixed. Heather:D
  12. Thanks for all the help!!!! I will contact the company to see what i need to do!!! i will also be leaving the herb description page-as i checked out a ton of websites last night and any that had a picture/description of the herbs had this same exact picture-and they were more professional places. When i have time i will work on changing it to my own, but for now, i think it will stay...i think it helps people realize what the herbs in the packs actually do.. and this weekend, i will try to take new pictures of the bears and get some more of my tart warmers on... can't sell what you don't have offered.... like i said, most of this website for now is for friends and family-but also for when i go to craft shows-i want to have a place they can come to reorder. so i really do want to have the best site possible. will try to do new pictures of my roses too-that one doesn't do them justice at all!! Thanks everyone for all your help/suggestions. I really appreciate it!! Heather
  13. if i knew how to create a website from scratch, i wouldn't need my cookie cutter store. and i wish i could change it, but this is the first one i've found that actually works. i know it can be changed as i went to a few other create a shoppe plus sites and theirs have their actual websites in the address instead of mine. can anyone direct me on how to change that manually, or do i need to contact create a shoppe plus. not sure how anyone can get anything with that, but i don't want to let myself be vulnerable to anything damaging.... Thanks for bringing this problem to my attention - i know very little about website building!!! Seems like there is as much to learn about website building as there is about candlemaking!!! lol... Heather
  14. i see what you mean-the actual herbs that are listed. i just did that last minute. i don't want to get in trouble for that... i just liked the way they had their pictures done and since those pictures weren't selling anything... but, i do see your point and as soon as i can i will try to get that changed. unfortunately, doing daycare, time escapes me all too often. it is on my list of things to do... Thanks everyone for all the positive and helpful advice... I sure hope someone comes back on telling me how to get rid of the isp address link thing... i don't want someone to use that to my disadvantage. Thanks for taking the time to look at my website!! It really means a lot to me, i was really nervous about opening it up to the "experts" but i knew you guys would be honest and let me know what i needed to change. so far, i've been exceptionally pleased with the responses!! Keep them coming, if there's anything that you think might be better changed, i'm open to suggestions. Thanks!! Heather
  15. here are 2 places i've used for candy molds and both had great service, shipping and prices... http://www.getsuckered.com/category.aspx?categoryID=2 http://www.candymoldcentral.com/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=1221 both of these sites offer quite a few different candy molds. i also use these to make unique shaped tarts. hth, heather
  16. got that fixed, thank you very much. I think after looking at it so long, i couldn't see any mistakes anymore, know what i mean. Thanks for all the help!!! Heather
  17. i see the website address now, so how do i change something like that? and i don't have to scroll down very far to get to the bottom so hopefully that is just your computer acting up.... Thanks again for the comments. keep them coming!!! Heather
  18. corrected arthritis, you are right. had a t instead of the r, Thanks. Heather
  19. after re-reading, i noticed you said to put it into a different format, this website design only allows you to use gif format-nothing else... not sure why, but that's the way it is set up.. Thanks. Heather
  20. ok, i'm a computer dummy here-how did you see that information? I can't see it-but then again i don't know exactly what i'm looking for either.... and i had to do this as a topper in this program to have it as my logo and didn't know how to clean it up.. what did you do to it? and do you mind if i copy that one? Thanks for all the help... Heather
  21. Thanks for the nice comments!! I really feel good hearing that... i worked quite a while on this website getting most everything i wanted done... i love the nature/wildlife feeling, and hope to someday put that "feeling" into my candles, bath and body type stuff etc. I just started in October so there is so much to learn. someday, i will try candles with wicks-but for now, i'm a little shy about that!! keep the ideas/suggestions coming. Thanks. Heather
  22. ok, broadzlla-thanks for mentioning that, i updated the sizes.. and before anyone mentions it, yes those are the pictures from first and main of just the regular plush, and yes, when i have more time, i will take pictures of my actual wax dipped bears. mostly this is for friends and family right now, but i'm planning on doing craft shows etc. and getting this site "polished". Thanks!!! Heather
  23. oh, i knew i forgot something.... I'll have to go to the first and main website and add those details, plus a little description about the bear... Thanks!!!
  24. ok, i'm a little bit nervous about posting this for the "candleworld" to see-as i have been to some of your awesome websites, but i'm hoping you can lend me your expertise on how to improve my website... i already know a few problems i'm working on-but since i do daycare and have 2 sons, time is limited!!! those problems being-no picture for the tarts, and the pictures for my wood roses needs to be better-i need a picture for just the plain roses and one for the vases, but my mother has the vases that are already arranged-and she is much better at that than i am. If the wood roses work out good, i will be offering a choice of colors and different vases, but for now this will have to do.. I do have more tart warmers but have not had the time to get pictures of them yet... another thing on my to do list.. any other suggestions would be appreciated. the shipping is not added in, and i want it that way for now as i only want to charge exact shipping and that is noted on the first page... here's the website... www.dakotacandleworks.com please be honest, but if you see something wrong, or that you would change, please give me a suggestion. Looking forward to all the comments-good and bad... Thanks for taking the time to check out my site!!! Heather
