  1. oh that is such a bummer!!! I will send you a 1/2 cup if you pay the shipping:yay:. I live in CT though, the opposite side of the map from you. Just let me know K?
  2. very nice, they look better than what I did. Thanx for shareing.
  3. Thanx Kitn, I have that mold. Its nice for embedding in single bars but it wont work for loaves.
  4. M&P scented in waterblossom ivy. I am sooo upset. I tried to find a loaf ribbon mold to no prevail so I ventured into trying to make my own. As you can see I failed miserably. I have been trying to make this mold for weeks and finally thought I had it using a gallon jug. Once I cut and shaped it to where I thought it looked nice, I poured the soap and the mold started to lose its shape a bit. Against my better judgement I still used the molded ribbon and figured it wouldnt look so bad AND THEN GOT THIS!!! Does anyone know where I could get a ribbon loaf mold? Hubby says it looks like a tooth*dead horse*
  5. I just tried it for you but I didnt have a problem. I added something to the cart and was able to check the cart just fine. I was trying to get to the bath cookie recipe from wsp, posted here somewhere and everytime I tried it would just freeze up on me though.
  6. Darn !!! I couldnt edit again but I wanted to say thank you to Getcha for also sharing your recipe. I will have try it. I am seriously thinking I need to just splurge and buy one of these from Lush. Just to compare it.
  7. Thanx Getcha, but shes about $11.00 higher than what I am used to paying. Butterfly, I was thinking that exact thing, no cr of tartar. Have you tried the lush B.bars and the other recipes to compare? Could you share your experience? NOT YOUR RECIPE...JUST your experience, Lush vs. others. I was thinking of using my bubble bomb recipe but just adding a little more peg oil.
  8. try this place http://www.midwestbottles.com/index.php?p=product&id=380&parent=11
  9. Thank you all for your answer. I have the pvs recipe just never got around to trying it yet. I have a few ideas rolling around in my head, just needed to know the consistancy of these bad boys. Not only is the cream of tarter a killer for priceing but the slsa is too. I searched and found cream of tarter. Heres the link http://www.thevintnervault.com/index.php?category_id=12&p=view_category 5lbs = $15.49 they are in CA dont know if there is a minimum order. Thanx again:)
  10. Can someone describe these to me? I have never tried them before. I am just sitting here wondering what they are like. Are they hard like a bath bomb or are they softer like playdough? Do you break a piece off of the 3.5 oz bar or do you use the whole thing? Some of those are really deeply colored, does it dye your water? Any input would be greatly appreciated THANKS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS
  11. I actually recall last year sometime, thumbing through a craft book or candle and soap book at books and borders I think it was. I found a recipe for making gel wax but I had no interest in it so I cant recall the book name or the recipe but I am sure if you call them they may be able to figure it out. However, if you would have googled it you would have also found the recipe and found that the 2 ingredients you need to make the gel are not readily available because as the others have said PATENTS.

    Curls

I use a carrot peeler and just add pressure to get a thicker curl. I have also been experamenting with the different shavers on a cheese grater. You can also pour a thin layer of soap in your mold and once it starts to harden pop it out and roll it up while its still warm and pliable then just embed it in your soap. When you slice your mold you'll have the curly look in it.
  13. Thank you so much. I would really hate to put so much work into a soap and end up having major bleeding colors. I like how they are specific for each color stating non bleeding or bleeding. I have checked a couple of other suppliers and they dont all always inform you on bleeders. Thanks again.
  14. Salt draws in moisture and M&P soap also has a tendancy to sweat so the 2 just dont do so well together. Once this soap hits the showers you can pretty much bank on it turning into a sloppy mess within a couple of days/weeks. This is just my opinion and experience. Maybe someone else has had some success that will chime in on this one.
  15. Can someone please tell me which colorants they were most happy with? That have never bled -out in your M&P
  16. I made these a couple years ago. (green and blue bars)I waited for the soap to cool a bit then added a mix of sea and epsom salt. They were awesome for about 3 weeks then disaster struck. The soap started to melt from the inside out. I never delved into it again but would like to someday.
  17. I had a customer wanting to buy a chai tea body mist because he and his wife used to get shadow & light and it has been disconniued. They are buying from different places to find something similar. This stuff, in case no one knows is scented with eo's and fo blends. The front label says an exotic blend of assam tea & authentic indian spices. I told him I highly doubt that my chai tea is even close. I am offering him a refund because I dont feel right taking his money for something I know he will be unhappy with being he is looking for a specicifc fragrance. Has anyone ever smelled this stuff and know of an fo that is very close? A dupe of some sort? Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanx

  22. Thank you both. We never used color in our soy candles and tarts and had no problem. It wasnt just the pinks and browns though. All of our colors frosted. some sets of blue frosted and some didnt, some pinks did and some didnt , Just wierd. I dont like that guessing game. Time to rethink a few things. Thanks again :smiley2:
