  1. 70/30 is the magic number....70 soy or paraffin...or am I wrong altogether...lol

Basically I just want a really good 1 pour container wax in soy and paraffin or a good one that is mixed....any suggestions anyone

I wondered the same thing. I tried mixing 70 percent joy wax with 30 percent mp145. Turned out better than I thought although I should have wicked up one size. I use the zinc wicks.

  2. you should bring this up. I have been having problems with wicks I recently purchased. this was the first time I ever experienced this with the supplier. I e-mailed them last night so now I'm waiting for an answer. It is very frustrating when you have to redo what should have already been done. I mean this is why I buy them already tabbed. To save time not to make it more time consuming.

  3. I'm working on it. The first one so far is Snowy Pine (FH), it's a keeper!

I just ordered samples of Country Christmas and Christmas Cabin from NG; Country Christmas is on their best seller list. I also want to test NG's Hot Baked Apple Pie. (Any opinions on these?)

I'd be interested in what everyone else has to say too.

The Hot Baked Apple Pie is awesome!!!!!!!! And another one that became my favorite last Christmas was Hippie Christmas. I just loved it. I have been a NG customer for a while, and it seems they beat everyone with almost all thier fragrances IMHO!!!!!!!!

  4. The oil prices affect every aspect of our lives...everything is going up because freight costs are skyrocketing. My DH drives his own truck and our fuel costs for 7 days can be up to $1400.00:shocked2: . We are paying 400.00 more per week for fuel than one year ago. BUT even though freight rates are rising the actual trucker sees very little of the rise in rates.

That must really suck. My husband drives too, but he is company. thank god. Well, back to the original reason this thread started. I went to Nature's web site and just bought a case of my usual mp145 before they sell out and discontinue which is what they did with the mp123 I used for containers. Hell, I got a case of that for not much more than a slab of Michael's. Michael's can stick it. Even with the 40% off coupon that I did cut out of Sunday's sale ad it still wasn't worth it. Like I said it's not that great to begin with. The bad thing about making the order with nature's is that of course I had to order more f.o.'s, and my total ended up being a little more than $200.00. Oh well, I love doing it, and that is all that matters:rolleyes2 .

  5. I hope this hasn't been posted already, and if so I didn't see it. I went to Michaels the other day because I wanted to pick up a slab of their wax to make tarts. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price jumped to $29.99 for one stinking slab. What gives. It's not like it is the best wax in the world

  6. I have done these a few different ways. I have filled paper portion cups (ones you put ketchup in at restaraunts) about half full of sawdust (got for free at local lumberyard), then topped with wax. I have done this using cupcake tins with cupcake papers, and I have dipped the pinecones. When I dip the pinecones I melt my wax to about 130 degrees or so. That way it sticks to the pinecone and I don't have to redip. HTH. Oh yeah, the paper cups and the cupcake liners I added a short piece of cotton twine to serve as a wick to start the fire.

  7. Like pay attention. Last year before completely moving my supplies to the garage I was taking stuff back out when I was through with it, and bringing stuff back in to make candles. Well, I threw the black color block in the bottome of my melt pot and went to bring the block back out to the garage and get more wax. Well, I put the melting pot on the scale and added my wax, and need I say more............I forgot to take the color block out before I melted the wax. What a fricking mess that was....:shocked2:

  8. hello everyone, today I got an actual real life catalog from Candles and Supplies. I don't know about everyone else, but I like to look at the real book in my hands. Do you know of any other companies that have real catalogs. Any help will be greatly appreciated. P.S. Sometimes it is easier to look at the book rather than fight for the computer. Thanks

  9. Is that true? I just bought a case of MP123 (J-50) from them a couple of weeks ago. Are you sure about them discontinuing it?

Pretty positive. Over the weekend I went to the web-site and it wasn't listed. I e-mailed them and got the reply this morning. Something to do with the cost. so the mp123, and the mp145 are both going to be discontinued. Bummer, bummer, bummer:cry2: .
