  1. I've only tested one fo which is creme brulee...maybe that has something to do with it, not sure. I have some warm apple pie waiting to cure longer before I burn and see what happens there. I've tried serveral different size wicks and 2 different series in this wax with the same results so I don't think the wick is the issue. What temp do you pour at and are you adding anything to the soy?
  2. Do you add anything else to your C3? No, I stir slowly and pour slowly...tried different pour temps and results still the same with the bubbles. I pour at 180 now.
  3. I read the discription on both of these waxes, 444 & 464...similar but different melt points. My question is since it's 98% soy and 2% soy additive can you say it's 100% soy? Someone posted on here that 464 is 100% soy and since it doesn't state "100% soy" in the description I question if you can say that?!
  4. Glad to know it's not just me. Do you add anything to your C3 that maybe helps with it if you don't get them that bad? The longer mine burn the worse it gets. The very first burn seems to look the best...after that it looks like the picture.
  5. Here's a pic (didn't attach it because it attaches way to big), http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i170/workingmomathome/P7240199.jpg of two C3 waxes with lx series wick in them. As you can see there are these bubbles that occur when melted and cooled (looks like someone spit in it, hehe). I thought it was the wick at first but I changed wick series and still happening and was wondering from those using C3 or ones that know what this could be, is it 'normal' of C3 or how I can get rid of it so it burns with no bubbles? TIA!
  6. I'd like to know the same thing...what constitues a heavy and light fo? I glad I read the info about vanilla as I have a sample coming to me soon.
  7. I'm still new and can't really give any advice yet but some advice that was given to me was to keep testing that same candle all the way down. I was testing 2 different size wicks and not until the 4th burn did I know which wick to go with in that series. I'm still testing out wicks though to determine which series I like the best. Good luck to you!
  8. Ok, maybe that's why when I google 415 I don't come up with much...i'll try ezsoy then. Other waxes with different names but same soy wax? Yes, plan on try a few out before deciding...I see why it takes so long to figure it all out now!!
  9. I didn't even think about looking north of me, thanks!!
  10. Wow, guess you've been at this a while eh?! I'm focusing on fall scents and not familar with all the scents yet but I think she has it broken down on her site for holiday ones if I'm not mistaken. Here's the ones I'm looking at and you tell me what you think: My Mamma's Blueberry cobbler, pumpkin & pralines, vanilla buttercream crunch, vanilla maple surpreme, kitchen spice, maple pecan, buttercream hazelnut, toffee macchiato, brown sugar pecan, apple butter...what others do you think I'm missing for fallish type scents? Probably a lot... I think I've listed some that maybe too similar to one another (ie, maple pecan and brown sugar pecan). I also don't want to repeat too much from the Peak's list I just ordered. But I'm a sucker for ones that have the words maple, carmel, brown sugar, cream, hazelnut, etc... Whatever you think is good in soy is the most important though!!
  11. Dang...you've convinced me!! Thanks for the fo info...greatly appreciated!!!
  12. Ah ok...didn't see a vendor local for 415, bummer. I guess i'm a little confused...when you say you're getting yours in the form of ezsoy are you saying ezsoy and 415 are the same thing?
  13. What supplier do you get your 415 from? I'm in N. Dallas, btw. What series of wick do you like in it?
  14. Henry I'm back to liking the lx24, lmao!!! After 6.5hrs. on the 4th burn the hang-up on side actually caught up! I was plesantly surprised to see that. We'll see what happens on test burn #5 but the 24 is back in the lead. 26 is still doing fine just a big mushroom on wick compared to the 24 but zero issues getting a fmp each time. I can't wait to hear about your rrd experience...please keep me posted.
  15. Awesome...glad to know that...makes me even more excited! Just picked what sounded good to me and I love the creamier/nutty type smells so sometimes it's hard to branch out. Yes, I really wanted that one the most, van. hazelnut (aka creamy nutty!)...wonder how long they are usually out of stock on fo's?? I'm trying to hold back from ordering a sampler pack from JS...their new scents sound great, pumpkin & pralines (might just have to try that one!), kitchen spice (have that in b&bw here at home and love it) & home for the holidays. Think you're a JS fan...what's your favs there (fall scents)? Yes, I will let you know about Med. Fig (someone mentioned that was good on the board...not sure what it'll smell like) and caramel apple (how can you go wrong there :~)!).
  16. Good to know as I just ordered a 10 1oz. fo sampler from them. As good as it smells now, I can't imagine what it's going to smell like in a week when I burn it! Was looking for fallish scents: #1: FRG-Cinnamon Buns #2: FRG-Cinnamon Buns #3: FRG-AmishHarvest #4: FRG-Banana Nut Bread #5: FRG-BlackRaspVanilla #6: FRG-CappuccinoHazelnut #7: FRG-CaramelApple #8: FRG-SugarCookie #9: FRG-WhiteTeaGinger #10: FRG-MedFig They were out of a few I really wanted to try...creme brulee, almond pastries, blueberry muffins, sweet pumpkin spice and vanilla hazelnut...hope they get some of those in soon!!!
  17. Those would look awesome in my houses...my colors! Love 'em!!
  18. Thank you Geek. I'm a C3 user currently but about to run out of my supply and thought I might sample another wax. I friend recommended 402 & has had much success and didn't know if 415 was a replacement for 402 or something. Very interesting about the mix of the two. So if there is more 415 I would venture to say 60/40 or 70/30 blend?? Am I close? LOL. Can you at least tell me what kind of wick you like to use with it? What is US?? I'm a newbie so sorry for all the questions.
  19. Yes, made perfect sense, thanks!! BTW, is it bad to say I've never bought a Yankee candle? I've always been turned off by the amout of black soot I see on friend's jars that I've never gotten one. I'm a Partylite girl .
  20. Yeah, I'm kind of understanding seeing the difference between hang-up and tunneling. Part I'm not sure on is when there is more than a hang-up on the sides (meaning tunneling looking on one side but FMP on the other) if that's considered hang-up or tunneling...thoughts? I think I'll retest the 24 again as I think Angela is right about it getting cut too short and that could be the issue.
  21. Haha...I'm finding that out quickly...who knew you had to figure out its behavior! Yes, I did trim the wick but you maybe right about it getting trimmed to short...not because I tried to do that but the mushroom broke off by just touching it with the scissors and seemed short. Yes, CDs were next on my list to get a sample pack of, ty!
  22. Is the only difference between these two 100% soy waxes the melt points (402 being lower and 415 being higher)? Anyone been successful using either one of these waxes and have a preference between the two? Kind of wicks you like with either one of these? TIA .
  23. Well I think I'm back to the lx26, haha. After test burn #4 with the lx24 I have no FMP after 5hrs. of burning . I did get a FMP within 3hrs. with the 26 and even though it does have a deeper mp at least it's consistant and produces a FMP each time within 3hrs. The 22 is limping along and no FMP after 5hrs so too small. I need something right in the middle of a 24 and 26, haha. Anyhoo, that's my findings so far. Next will be to test the rrd...Henry you try rrd in metro? Can't remember if you said you did or not, sorry. Oh forgot to mention the 26 keeps coming out of the metal tab...that's no good.
  24. Speaking of Peak I received a sample of warm apple pie and poured it today...OMG this is even stronger than the creme brulee I bought Cajun's Candles and I thought that was strong. Thumbs up to Peak!
  25. Haha, thank you for the info...I already poured a 22 before I got a chance to read your post. Give me 20 min. and boom you got another candle! I'll reply more later...we're (the family) are off to a drive-in movie in Ennis, TX, woohoo! One of the very last few around here. Thanks for posting the pic...good guide for me!! What kind of wick is in there btw?
