  1. Awesome idea! I love my silicone molds. I just wish there was a RELIABLE source to purchase them from. My Silvermoon are my favorites followed by my 3 upland log. Unfortunately you either can't contact them to get more OR they are forever closing down (temporarily for one reason or another) and it is extremely frustrating!! I ordered a custom mold in the size I use in the white HDPE(?) and my soap sticks...to the point of ruining the sides trying to get it out. I know, I know...they need to become "seasoned" but how many batches do you ruin getting them to that point?? I am not willing to keep trying...while ruining the sides. I would love to order my custom size from Upland but who knows when she will open again....and then you have to watch close because usually she has something on the site about...no custom sizes at this time. Frustrating as all get out!!!

  2. I don't use your mix, but IMO it's both of what you asked. I'm trying to remember whose WVS I tried long ago that just didn't do much for me. It wasn't Peak's or Wildfire or even LS, but when I remember (if I remember and they haven't GOOB), I'll list it.

Perhaps MMS...theirs was extremely light to my nose...didn't like it at all.

  3. I've used GL's Leather and Lace. It will discolor your soap to a pretty dark brown but it hold well and does not morph. It will also discolor lotions.

I ordered in Green Leafs leather & lace this morning. Maybe I will try it with the vanilla stabalizer and see if I can keep it at a tan instead of dark brown. I have a pound of Sweetcakes Leather that I just got in and bought that based on reviews. To me oob it doesn't seem very strong? So I also ordered in Green Leafs Leather since I was ordering from there anyway. I am not a big leather fan so this should be fun! LOL

  4. I have an account that wants to add a Leather fragrance in soap & lotions. Anyone have a good leather that sticks really good in soap and also smells realistic?? I am also thinking of bringing in a Leather & Lace for them to try also....anyone know a good supplier for that one also? So far I have only found the Leather & Lace at Taylored Concepts and Green Leaf. Any others? TIA for any opinions on either one!

  5. LOL! I have sent Kim an email offering to buy several pounds if she has it in stock. And I am checking her site as she does say she will be listing everything and selling everything until her stock is depleted. Hopefully I can get several pounds from her that will last me for awhile and then hope someone picks up her line!

  6. Yea I saw that as I was at her site trying to order one her FO's that we use in a custom candle for a resort. They ordered more today and I am out of the oil. CRAP!!!! I wish her and her family the very best...just hating see all these suppliers go out of business!

  7. We base our testers on the size of the order. Every retailer gets at least one free lotion tester to start. The testers sell the products and it has been proven hands down. We do a display that also has 5 testers in it plus all the product....they pay for the display(wooden) and we offset the display price by giving them the testers (testers are figured at retail on the display) A display set up is over $500...the display is designed to hold 5 testers...one of each scent in the display. It is a package deal. If they don't want a display...they then get a free tester by dollor amount bought. Example $100-$200 is 1 free tester, 200-300 is 2 free testers, and so on. Trust me....if they can try it and it is an awesome product...they buy it.

  8. I make cream soap just for me and a few of my friends...we love it! Add some clay and it makes a great shaving soap. Use a poof and you will have bubbles galore! I do mine in the crockpot and it is easy peasy! I leave it in the crockpot for a few days and let it relax and then adjust the consistancy of it. Once that is done I put it in a bucket and let it rot. Whip it up as I need it. Just can't get much easier.

  9. I have the For Crafts Sake set and the bars are actually a great size IMO. They fit beautifully into my little glassine bags. My B&B accounts, small tho they are, are quite happy with them.

But different clients have different desires.

Very true! We use to lay out the different sizes and they consistantly picked out the 1/2 bar...so we quit offering the little ones.

  10. For Crafts Sake sells a B&B mold that is the soap mold, log splitter and cutter. I have one but never use it....all of our accounts want a bigger bar then that. We do a log and cut into bars then cut those bars in 1/2 again. Looks like a full size bar only 1/2 as thick. Everyone prefers them to the little bars. We don't do any hotels/motels just B&B's and resorts and they all feel that it looks less chintzy as it appears to be a full size bar and fits in the hand better.

ETA..Even cuting the 1/2 bar in half again would make a nice guest bar and would be more substantial then the For Craft Sakes B&B bar that in my opinion is just too small and thin.

  11. Oh I like Callisto ... may have to use that one lol.

I like Kamira also...but now I can't remember the meaning of that one. Oh wait......I just mispelled it and typed Kimira...hmmmmmmmmmm (already changed it). Maybe there is a reason I did that?? Has my name in it and it is my most favorite scent on the face of the earth right now. LOL

  12. Thanks Everyone!! It has helped my brain to "think"! I did some more searching and come up with words I like and now just need to get one that hits me just right or combine a couple.......

Raven, Callisto (means most beautiful), Destiny, Ancient, Kamira, Rumor, Enchanted, Exotic, Mystic, Earth........

Who would have thought renaming this scent was going to be such a problem for me...LOL

  13. Egyptian Dragon. This is a very seductive, alluring, earthy, spiritual, mystical, calming, peaceful and gorgeous scent but I don't want to use the name it has. I have been trying to come up with something for 3 weeks now and keep hitting a brain block! Anyone have any ideas?

  14. what software do you print from for your labels, I use printshop 22 and I have went in and made a label that is just a titch too big such as 2.65 x 2.65 and then printed it to help it go all the way to the edge but also the settings that come up when you hit print also can be adjusted to make it print further up or down or left or right etc. and that can be trial and error for sure. I print my 2.5 rounds nice though with full coverage from printshop 22 with no problems.

    janis

I use Adobe Photoshop 5.0 to do my labels and adjust them bigger then the label size in the print screen so that they over bleed.

Webgyrl.....thanks for that link! They have sizes that I would otherwise have to custom order from primera and if you have checked with them.....they are EXPENSIVE unless you want 10+ rolls at a time! We have gotten to the point where even the Primera isn't enough and will have ours printed digitally but I will always hang on to the primera to do short runs and special editions!
