  1. candlebuddy, what size of muffins do the molds make, ounce wise? I bought a silicone mold out there before halloween that is hearts and I saw the muffin one and mini bundt one the other day and wondered if they were too big to use as tarts or if I could pop a wick in the muffin ones.

  2. lol Thanks! lol I don't ever want to be the votive queen. These are not fun! lol Of course, other than the nippling, it would help if my darn house was level! lol Oh, well, live and learn. I'm gonna play around with them some more, but don't be surprised when you see my votive molds in the classified ads! :)

  3. Candlebuddy, I thought about that but my boyfriend said it would probably melt the mold as the mold is plastic! I wasn't sure. This is a plastic 6-pack votive mold from pourette. I'm not sure how high of a temp it will stand. I'm gonna play around today and try a couple of things out. I know a while back, when I first started with clamshells, I had major frosting problems with the PureSoy and some dipping (for lack of a better term), and someone recommended to pour slushy. That helped out a bunch, though with certain colors I still got frost but I got smooth tops. Anyway, I eventually went to doing them without colors. I'm gonna try a couple of things today.

    Thanks!

  4. I did that and there was a line and the votive broke off where the 2nd pour was made! Talk about shocked! I have votives in pieces! lol I poured hotter and there was no line but I still have that stinking dip and then the nippling around the wick pin. I'm gonna play around with them tomorrow and see. I've got a lot of wax and 4 molds! lol Thanks, though!

  5. Okay, I've been making votives for 2 days now and they are a total pain in the butt! The colors have come out wonderful! I'm using KY all natural pillar/votive wax and it's nice to work with. The wick burns nicely in it! The problem is, I'm using a mold that has ring tops. When my votives finally cool, I still get the nippling around the wick pin and then a dip. I don't know how to describe it, but I'm not happy with it. I've done 2 pours and they're are just not cooperating with me. Is there some trick to this?

  6. Thanks so much! The green did come out pretty good! lol I also posted another pic I did of a jar and tin. The color was supposed to be dark red but it has a purplish tint to it. These are still color crystals. The other pic of the jar and tin are wickless.

  7. Hopefully these will be a bit better. I made these for a friend. She had a couple of jars and a tin and didn't want to pitch them and wanted wickless candles. These 2 are cinnamon but the color went more to a burgundy. Figures! lol

  8. Cool! That's what I got! My problem is, I'm impatient and I want to burn it NOW! lol Unfortunately, I can't play around with those tonight as I already have all my jars filled and have to wait for them to cure, so I'm gonna do some votives since I have no work on my job! lol I told my boyfriend we're gonna have to build a house with a full basement and I get the whole basement as I am running out of room in my house for my candle supplies! lol It would help if I didn't have a full room of craft stuff, but hey, I can't help it. Thanks for answering back. I'll have to post next week on how they burn!

  9. candlebuddy, what wax do you use? I'm testing CBA. I tested it in some 5oz apothecary jars with an HTP52 but did not work well, plus I don't think I want to use those jars anyway. I did let one cure for 5 days and got a scent throw on the first burn and then nada! Figures! lol

Also, I was surprised when I found the thread on what sizes of wicks to use in the square masons that someone posted using a CD18. Anyway, I'm gonna test them next week and see what happens.

  10. Thanks! Those were really fun to make and my green turned out awesome! lol Anyway, hopefully we will get a good digital camera next month because my daughter's cell is a pain in the butt to use and she got upset off because I used it! lol Oh, well. Anyway, thanks!

  11. I made 12 8oz square mason jars last night. I did 6 different scents. Each scent was wicked with a CD14 and CD16 as that was what I found researching on here. I'm using CBA. I searched by mason jars, mason wick, and something else, don't remember. It took a little while, but that's what I came up with. I don't know if your jars are square or what size, so the wick you have may work. Hope that helps, sorry if it doesn't! :)
