  1. Thanks! I may try that. We had a blast making them and poured them into the pots. The kit was cute. She has already picked out her flavorings from BCN! lol She's ready to make more. I didn't think about the lotion bars. Do they work well? I had never heard of them until I found this site.

  2. Me and my daughter were making her lip balm with her kit and I screwed up. Go figure! lol Luckily we had 1/3 of it that we could use and I just screwed up the other 2/3. Anyway, instead of buying another kit, could someone help me with supplies. I went to BCNs site but I have a hard time with their site not wanting to load, plus Shea Butter is almost $30 for 4 lbs! lol Anyway, if anyone could share where they get supplies I would appreciate it. Thanks!

  3. I only do 1oz pp but on some I have to cut back to 0.5oz pp because it is so strong. I use CBA and KY's all natural pillar/votive blend. I had first started out with Puresoy then switched to CBA because of purchasing some by accident. I mixed the CBA with some KY pv blend just to see how they would turn out and I still get awesome cold/hot throws.

  4. I just got my astorlite Q today and poured 2 8oz square masons. One has sugar cookie and the other almond cherry. The almond cherry is pink and the sugar cookie is blue because I wanted blue! lol I have not worked with it before but I like the looks, plus, according to nuscents website, it is supposed to cure in 12 hours. We'll see! lol I have not used those other waxes, but good luck and let me know how your astorlite turns out. I don't know how soon I'll test mine. I just poured them a few hours ago. I may wait until Sunday, if I can.

  5. I was wanting to try KY's perfect blend but is it all soy? It says soy blend but I didn't know what was in the "blend". lol I mixed my CBA with the KY pillar/votive wax and tempered the wax and finally got the frost to a bare minimum in my melts. Some of them didn't even frost at all! Finally! lol Also, KY is only 4 hours from me, so eventually I could drive there and pick it up as I do like the pillar/votive wax mixed with the CBA for the melts. Thanks a lot! I may give it a try. I ordered some astorlite Q to play around with, so it'll probably be a little while before I try the perfect blend.

  6. lol That drive does suck. We had to go just past Peoria to G-burg. It was 5 hours from my house to there! Also, we were in my boyfriend's truck which is a Silverado regular cab. Going up wasn't as bad as coming back. My daughter is getting too tall! We really need a quad cab! lol

  7. I've had the same problem with mine and didn't quite know what to think. Of course, I'm still in the testing phase which I will probably NEVER get out of! lol Hey, silvermoon, where ya at in Illinois? I'm down south. We were up near Peoria this past weekend for my brother's wedding. That was a trip! lol Anyway, I guess I'll do as suggested and dip my wicks in the wax to extinguish. Thanks for the ideas! :)

  8. I'm going to change container waxes. The CBA, even though I got it to almost no frosting, does not throw well enough that I care to continue testing it and I did not like how much the PureSoy frosted. I'm leaning towards trying to find something near me, but would like some hints of other waxes that are not darn near impossible to wick! lol I'm using 8 oz square mason jars and really do not want to change jars. I love these! Anyway, any hints or ideas are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  9. Oh, I see. I know nothing about lighting. Where are you at? If your near me, I could probably get him to do the pics, but he won't have his new camera until next month. Also, check with your local school. Our junior high and high school have photography classes. Maybe you could get a student to do the pics for you. Also, check the local college. Good pics and probably cheaper than hiring a professional.

  10. This is where I'm lucky, when I get to the point I need a website. My boyfriend does awesome with photography. I would hate to see what it would cost for photos for a website through a professional. Could you possibly do them yourself? I don't know much about digital cameras or anything, so I don't think I could do mine myself. I actually took photos with our old digital camera and then stood staring at the computer and the camera trying to figure out how in the heck to get it from one to the other! lol

  11. I agree and the trademarking of names kills me. I think there are certain names they should not be able to trademark, like sugar cookie! Of course, I don't make enough on my real job to do anything about it or trademark every little name I have to come up with! lol

  12. I saw the letter NG got. I change all the trademarked names. My cool water is cool mist. Another thing I found, if you change the name and it is too close to the trademarked name, they can still come after you. Figures! Anyway, I know I have seen candles similar to that at craft shows. Problem is, there are a lot of candlemakers out there and not a lot of them on the internet so they probably have no idea about all these patents companies are trying to get. It just irritates me! lol

  13. lol It just floors me that some people will patent something that other people have been making for years. Earlier this summer I was doing craft stuff and some I made myself, no pattern, but other stuff I bought patterns for at wally world. Well, come to find out, if you use their patterns, you cannot sell what you make from them. Some of their craft patterns are things I saw years ago at craft shows. I guess maybe we should patent everything we make so we don't get screwed! lol
