My wicks will not stay in the wick tab. I tried crimping with a pair of pliers but they still come out with the slightest tug. All I am trying to do is just trying to straighten out the wick a little to keep it centered. I have other CD wicks from another company and do not have this problem. I do not feel that I should have to crimp every one of my wicks (which still didn't work) every time I make a candle. They are closed today so I left them a voicemail, which is good for them because it could have gotten pretty ugly considering how ticked off I am. Anybody else with this problem? Hello all, How are you getting deep reds and greens using this in 464. I heard that mixing in some black will darken it, however, when I did this with the red it didn't come out like I thought it would. Not really a deep red. Also, what is the max drops per lb. that you are using before it would start clogging up the wick. I am using CD's. Happy Thanksgiving to all, Bob and DonnaMarie

Thanks for the input everyone. I will take out the part about the wet spots. P.S. Made green Mistletoe containers last night. I put them on the stove in between the burners where it was warmer and.......no frosting so far when I looked this morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello all, I am about to go through the last of my 464. Other than the frosting and wet spots, I am happy with it, however, I am looking for the latest in testing for the other various soys. What type of soy and how are you dealing with the frosting, wet spots, hot and cold throw? Just like everybody else, I am always on the lookout for something better. Some of the previous threads on the subject are pretty old. I am willing to do my own homework and test, however, ordering 10lbs. of this one and that one can add up to some major clams. Also, a Question: Can I add Frostop and/or beeswax to the 464? Will it help with the frosting? If it helps then I would probably just stick with the 464, because I do like to color my candles. Hello all, I visited a day spa near me today to drop off a halloween pumpkin candle. I got to talking to the owner who said she might be interested in my candles. What I was thinking about doing was a spa line. For example, green tea, citrus basil, etc. Are these the type of fragrances that would be found in a spa type setting? Any input is appreciated. I have been testing the 464 and it seems to be doing well, except for some frosting and wet spots here and there. How have the rest of you been doing? Has anybody come up with the perfect heating and pouring temp yet, etc? Is 444 any better? Bob and DonnaMarie

Moderators, I was wondering if we could have a new sticky where the members can post whatever shows they are doing on the weekends. I know that I wouldn't mind driving to a craft show and saying hi, if another member of the board was working it and it wasn't too far away. Unfortunately, we live in Westchester County, NY and I do not see too many members from our neck of the woods around here, which might also be a good thing because I can have the craft fair market here all to myself. Seriously, hardly anybody at any of the craft fairs and such that I have been to are selling candles and/or soaps. I see that there is usually a thread regarding ,What's in your pot for the weekend, however, I was thinking of having a thread where you just give the days, times, and location of the fair. Saw these today for a buck. I would say they hold around 6oz. maybe, give or take. They say votive holder on the bottom so they should be okay to make a container candle, right?. It looks like the design is sprayed on somehow, almost see through. The illumination effect should be pretty good. I'll test over the weekend. Bob and DonnaMarie

Hello all, Went to Boston last weekend and had this done by a caricaturist. Thinking about somehow using it in our advertising. My wife came out fine, but I don't think I came out too good, but then again it is called a caricature. I think matching tatoos is next. Thanks for looking. Bob and DonnaMarie

I actually bought this a while back. It had 25 tins and I used the coupon. Whenever I make a candle with a new scent, I will pour whatever might be left over into the tin and use it to show people at work to sniff. They come with round labels that I put on the bottom of the tin to identify the scent. They also come in a plastic bucket that you can carry the samples around in if you wanted to. Hello all, I found a logo/graphic that I really like on Google images that I want to use for my company, however, I am not sure if I am allowed to. Is the logo owned by anybody, and if so, would I need to pay any kind of royalty fees for using it? Is it considered copyrighted? I have asked a friend to design one for me just in case, which leads me to another question.
