  1. I just can't help myself anymore. As you can see, this is my first post ... it will also be my last.

At first, upon finding this board, I was sure it'd prove to be a great community to belong to and network with and I was so excited. I actually looked forward to having a question to post!

...I was wrong. *sigh* I've lurked off and on for weeks. Steadily becoming less and less impressed by those of you, of which there are just too many, who seem to have WAY too high an opinion of yourselves.

Some of your haughty, arrogance makes me lmao (it's as if you equate candle making to rocket science!), some makes me cringe, some of it (like in this thread imparticular) just makes me sad becuase it's downright hurtful.

You people have way too much time on your hands and far too much ego and malevolence for my blood.

    I leave you to it.

adieu, au revoir, bon voyage, farewell Super Stars! *WAVES*

Well good-bye then! Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out!

  2. Wow, What a shock. Lots of little guys going out of biz this past year. And here we are littler than most, kind of has me quaking in my boots.

    Glo

It sounds like Snowtop sold out because of wanting more time to raise a family...doesn't sound like it was due to slow sales or anything like that...must have been to much for them to handle! You should be ok! LOL ;)

  3. Thank you for the suggestions! I actually don't buy any FO from BCN, so maybe I'll look into them.

I haven't used anything from ICS in a long time, so it might be time to try again!

If you hurry, you can get in on their 99cent sample sale but it ends today!! Just put samp99 in the 'comments' area in the checkout process. Great price to test their fo's!

  4. Have you tried Wildberry Zinger Tea from BCN? It doesn't have a tea smell, but is very strong in soy.

    -Kristi

I was just going to recommend the same one! LOL...I am testing it right now, and wow, it is strong...nice berry scent..I do pick up a mulberry in there too!

  5. Sucks don't it???!!!! We do the work, they get the profits!! LOL...this is why wholesale ONLY makes sense if you are selling in large quantities to them...if say its a case here and a case there, then no its not worth it to me, I could retail that case or two and make more, but if you put a minimum number of cases for them to buy, you can make it worth your while...

  6. The thing I dislike most when going to a website is that 'opening page'...ugh! If you don't need it, I suggest get rid of it! Its really annoying to have to click through that page just to get to your products page...alot of us don't care for the cutesy 'oh look, its a front door' type stuff on websites..I am just interested in getting to the products! This is just my opinion tho! :D

  7. Here are some posts from the message board:

    Hi Guys,

Well alright you guys convinced us! I've never had so many people request (or beg, lol) for one of our closeouts to come back like with this one! As I had told people before, we did find out we can get this formula released to us and keep stocking it on a regular basis... but the price was higher and we wouldn't be able to sell it for our normal price, so we didn't think it would work out. But since several of you keep asking and want it that bad, we've decided to go ahead and bring it back permanently even tho it is a higher price smile.gifThis one will be $17.95 a pound. We now have it on order and will announce on the board when it comes in stock!

Back by popular demand is our Key Lime Pie. It has just arrived here at BCN. It can be found on the main page of our shopping cart. Have a great day and happy shopping! smile.gif

    Amber

Yes, I saw that on the board over there...and it was 17.95 but not anymore...now 22.95! Thanks!

I may have to try a sample from ST...although I haven't tried any oils from there yet, I did say I wanted to try her this spring..LOL...anyone tried MC's KLP? Thanks for the input on ST!

  8. Well, I went to order some more Key lime pie from BCN and was totally shocked to see the price for a pound is 22.95! I don't remember it being that expensive when they brought it back....soooo...anyone tried bcn's, does it compare to anyone else's? I love this oil because it smells so 'real'...you can even smell the graham cracker crust!!! Thanks for any input!

  9. HI to all, I'm new to the message board and candle making. Can anyone tell me what is the proper temp. for pouring soy container candles.

There really is no 'proper temp' for pouring soy, its all trial and error, and personal preferrance. Start out with the guidelines from the supplier..then adjust til you get results you like! HTH

  10. Someone told me that leaving the lids off of your candle jars will make them lose scent.

Umm...was it GOD? Maybe he told you this too!!

I was also wondering - while you are waiting to do a second pour do you lose scent during this wait period? It can be several hours! I've left them overnight and poured the second pour the next day.

Why ask us, when GOD is giving you the answers?

My candles are still not coming out strong enough. I've put the fragrance in at 170 and 150 and still getting the same results.

Ask GOD, he is apparently the 'candle pro' here!

It must be my wax. I am using straight paraffin because I just started it and can get if for $8 per 10 lbs. I wanted to do that starting out, but now I think I may just need a preblended wax after all.

Again, what did GOD tell you to use? You must listen to him, if you don't, you really don't want to find out what will happen next!

    Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't know, I haven't heard from GOD yet, when he tells me, I will be sure and tell you (that is of course if he hasn't told you already!)

    :rolleyes2

  11. Okay, so I'm waiting on a few packages to arrive today and I see the fedex truck drive up. Well I didn't want to seem all impatient so I waited for him to ring the door bell. I can hear him talking on a phone outside my front door and I'm still waiting for the doorbell to ring, when all of a sudden I see him throw my box over the front porch and onto the patio. What??

I don't get it..if you were home, why not just open the door and go get your package...not wanting to seem 'impatient' is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! Its your package, you know he's there, go get it! Is there something wrong with going outside and helping these delivery men/women so they can get back on their routes? They have thousands of packages to deliver everyday, a little help once in a while isn't to much to ask for is it? If you were delivering I'm sure you would appreciate it if the homeowner was home and came out to meet you or atleast answer the door!

  12. I think I am wasting my FO, but to start out I wanted to go the whole way. I will experiment with that. Thanks! I did put only 1 oz of vanilla in one of my candles. It just seemed like enough.

The wicks are fine. They are perfect for my containers. Like I said they are burning even and clean.

Well, I have to run! Thanks for your imput!

I don't even know why I am bothering with this but anyway...just because you think the wicks 'work' for your container, it doesn't mean they will 'work' with every fragrance oil...this is the part you seem to not understand..at least from what I read, plenty of people have tried to tell you this...

  13. This scent is predominantly citrus - I love it! I noticed after I took the pic that there is a bit of loose wax that needs to be brushed off one or two of the candles - please overlook it! Thanks for looking!

Is that pom citrus from MC? If so that is an awesome scent! One of my all time favorites....love those candles..are you going to be selling them??? :yay:

  14. The supply business can be very difficult when times are good but with family health issues it always creates a new issue.

    [/quote]

Seems with BG there is a new 'issue' every single month! They are continually oos, or delayed on shipping, or closed or or or something! With a constant excuse for everything! Yes, they do have awesome oils!!! Its just to bad they are not reliable at all!

  15. Ok, I was looking at Greenleaf's site today searching through their oils...etc..then I went to JBN's site to compare oils, and noticed they had quite a few of the same sounding oils. So I looked through the sites more and was seeing 'word for word' descriptions on different items and such (lotion bases, FO's, reed diffusers etc) So I was wondering are these two companies actually partners? Like the BCN & BCS companies. Plus I get the same kinda 'feel' from both of their websites..meaning they seem very similar. Anyone know anything on these two companies or did GL copy JBN (word for word on some items)

  16. I guess I would add, if you enjoy candles and want to learn to make your own, to enjoy 'better candles' then go for it! But if your interested because you 'want to make money' then this probably isn't what your looking for. Its very costly, there is months and months of learning and testing that HAS to be done to make sure your candles are SAFE, and it can be years before you ever see any kind of 'profit' off it!:2cents:
