That sure is pretty.

There is nothing wrong with putting thick lotions in jars. Never had anyone complain about that. Besides, they look great in clear jars. I put my hand lotion in a bottle because it is thinner that my other lotions and butters.
-
They look great. Much better than those other things.
Bet they burn just fine.

Just for the record, the original poster in this thread is now awol... after having taken money for a co op that didn't happen. Correct me if I'm wrong, and forgive me if it is wrong to point this out....and it still is certainly a helpfull topic to some... but I just thought I'd let ya know. This should probably put to rest or someone can start a new poll.
Oh that's just great. Another thief.

Thank you MaryAnn,
I have no idea what wax to use. *lol* I have never made a candle in my life, of any kind. I am thinking maybe I need to buy some kit or something to see what it's all about. All I know is that I spend a fortune on buying candles from stores for other people, and I want to make my own. I've been reading this thread for hours. It is full of info!
Thanks again!
A good kit with a container wax would be good to try first. A great wax for wickless is Comfort Blend. It's a bitch to wick by itself.
Wickless are easy because as mentioned, no need to test wicks. I have yet to find a fragrance that doesn't throw in a wickless jar from the suppliers I buy from.

Worst website, shopping cart, bar none. How many years have people been telling them that?
-
And? What about it?

Can't find the post now, but I know I read it. IKS, you said you pay someone to do the CS. If that's true why are you asking about it? Fire your CS employee and find someone else. Just another "wonder why" this wasn't mentioned in the first place. Then the thread could have started with "How do I fire an employee?"
-
Time of year shouldn't have a thing to do with it. I would be on the phone to see if you can straighten it out.
Thanks for a heads up on yet another business with crappy cs.

As i was saying.. The problem with distilled water is that it doesn't have any "germ killers" added to it. Distilled water is simply that.. It's the purified water.. which means it doesn't have any resources to attack the germs and mold that are everywhere. Even a single skin cell scratched into a bowl of water can cause mold.
What? A single skin cell can cause mold? Sounds a bit crazy to me. Never heard of getting mold in smelly jellies using distilled water.

Hard to see in the pic. but I did notice one other thing, you have Approx oz's as to how much is in the container. You can't do that, the Government Agency of Weight's & Measures requires an exact measurement. You can say there is X amount in there but that measurement must be equal to or less then the average of all that size container.
For example I sell 8oz Jelly jars, they hold 8oz's of water but only 6oz's of wax, some a little more like 6.3oz's, but on average 6oz's so I put 6oz's on the label.
To find out how much a container has in it...
1. Place empty container on scale.
2. Press the tear button to take that weight out.
3. Now weigh several of that container, that is filled, and find an average weight.
You can list the average weight or round down to an even weight.
For example if your average weight was 6.7oz's then you could round down to 6.5oz's.
Now in your calculation of your cost you need to remember to go with the average weight so you get a more accurate cost. Otherwise if you used the rounded down measurement, to figure your cost, you would be loosing money.
That's right, it is against the law. Watch for the candle police, they are everywhere. Imagine having to wind up in jail over this. LMAO
Clearly it is an excellent example of what most of us would strive for. Wick is centered, labels are clear, no fingerprints that I can see, and why would there be candle man?
Again, beautiful candle.

Wait until the wax cools way down, but still pourable. Depending on the wax, usually at 150 or a little below. To get the best look, do it several times.
-
Those are beautiful.
Are those status jars?
-
Maybe a suitcase?

It's too, like, white. Nothing stands out. Have to agree with all the others.

Great job.

I am a two week old newbie. What the h#@# are tarts? Sure seems like a dumb question but...................
Not sure you have to be new to making candles to know what a tart is. I think you need to get out more.
Just so you know, a tart is scented wax poured into little molds and burned in a tart warmer.

Now that is adorable. What a happy boy. I would love that as a gift too!
-
Very cute. Michaels has those mugs with lids for $1.00 also.

Sliverofwax Dec of this year!!! no im not becomming a suppiler I am opening up a store a home decor store and a candle shop. and yes I am ordering suppy today,, and yes I am hoping to pour candle now like yesterday lol.. and 911 is on my speed dial! lolthe reason I asked the ? was I have heard some say that certain wax wont work with some scent and some wick dont work with some thing so I was wondering if I order scents from another company if it would work with the waxes I already had like say I am using the cb 135 soy and I wanted to order some new fo from another company with better cheaper shipping rate since I paid 50 bucks for shipping if it would interfer with the candle. also like some waxes are for votive while others are for contianer... I no it was probble a dump ? but im new so... i can ask dumb ?... Ive read and read but by the time yoou read everything its all differnt..
This stuff is what gives us a bad name. Sellers opening shops before they even poured a candle. Seriously ridiculous.
Makes people go right back to Yankme.

Can you try to make some sense. Hard to understand this review,
Thanks
-
I would think it's in your best interest to wait until you need a lot from one supplier. Consider the fact shipping can be high on just a few items.
That's a no brainer.
-
Yes, you need some votive or pillar wax to mix with the container wax.

Best I've seen yet!
Looking for unique tart molds but where?

You can use almost anything for a mold. Ice cube trays with shapes, mini muffin pans, silicone molds, the list is almost endless. I even use those portion cups people talk about as a mold. Look on ebay. I use jello molds, small ones, and I know there are usually tons on there.
