  1. ok found what I was lookin for elsewhere - thanks
  2. oh maybe I wasn't clear..I dont want a "homemade" mold from something laying around...No he would make me a nice mold that you all are buying. If I am going to make soap I want to do it right...hes handy and I am lucky to have men in my family who are handy and able to make things.
  3. so dh asked what I wanted for mothers day~ I dont really want anything but then I thought I really want to make CP soap and I have been gathering supplies to do this...I still need a mold. I really want a log mold but am having a hard time paying $50 for it and then waiting for it to arrive. Dh wondered if he could make me one. Anyone else make one or have one made? Would you suggest wood or nonstick? Any ideas or tips I should suggest...i need to show him pictures and dementions etc... but this would be a lovely gift from him:grin2:
  4. those of you that use a slab mold ...why do you prefer it to a log mold??? Seems like the log mold is easier to cut-straight/even etc..I am curious thanks
  5. there should be a bow down to you smiley:yay:
  6. yep yep this is it! LOL hopefully its conditioning for your skin otherwise you wasted your money:wink2:
  7. I sell the larger ones...the size of tennis balls. I ship them wrapped in bubble wrap and haven't had a problem, i also only ship priority mail in a box.
  8. Shea body butter is thick...it will always be think, not thin. And it will be greasy due to straight oils & butters. Thats why a little goes along way. Nothing wrong w/ the recipe just how Shea is. You can whip the snot out of it to make it a little lighter however when it sits it will settle & get thick again.
  9. HI welcome... you can seach these boards for recipes or just type in the words and a TON of info is everywhere...perhaps more help & ideas that you may have not found before. As of the Shea are you hand mixing or whipping w/ mixer? Shea will be thick & greasy...its a thicker butter and made for smaller areas like elbows, knees etc...If you want something smoother, lighter you could try a lotion or emulsified recipe. HTH
  10. you have too much moisture: could be in the recipe or in the air. I am in the NW and make bombs...I dont put them in the oven, they always activate. I really go by a touch rather then what a recipe calls for...i have been making them for a few yrs now but when I started I could practice by the feel of the mix. Its cant be too wet, barely wet actually. Just enough to stick in th mold. i like to dry my molds in my laundry room- seems to be the perfect temp. GL
  11. no because it wont dry. you can use it to make scrubs, shaving creams, bubble baths...try the recipe search. GL
  12. My hubby is a GM for a printing company and even he says their cards are unbeatable at that price. i dont complain...i just stick to what I am ordering and thats it. I think you have to be careful anywhere you order on-line. We are always cautious and one rule of thumb I always live by is use 1 cc for ordering online. Use it to always order anything online & make sure its not your main debit/checking account. This way if there is any fraud you only have 1 card to deal with and your not stripped of you "living" money.
  13. so sorry about that BUT thanks for sharing- now I know what ricing looks like:embarasse
  14. THANK YOU!!! I think thats what I keep getting worried on- reading different stuff. I appriciate your details. I wanna make sure I am 200% informed:wink2:
  15. ok if I may bother you all one last time...as I am trying to narrow down all my info. for my first batch. I am trying to learn all the things that can go wrong or what it looks like more then anything in CP. Also trying to figure out more information on Zap testing? When you guys are testing for PH ..What do I do, when & what am I looking for. Akkk just when I think I have it all down I read conflicting info so I get too nervous to try it yet.
  16. Grump your the reason I wanna try CP...thank you for the inspiration.
  17. I saw that one just wondered if there was any others - thank you!! I really need one for sensitive skin.
  18. ok I have been researching different recipes for CP. I am so overwhelmed with how many there are. I am searching for one that is bubbles galore but creamy for sensitive skin...does anyone have a nice one?
  19. Little Black dress for b&b nothing but happy customers!!!
  20. I dont think I use enough of the butter to give any sluge. I mix butters w/ oils & butters & butters etc...depending on the type of bomb I make. I am a bomb addict and I just wash the tub as normal..I think if you use any oils/butters in your bath you have to becareful due to more residue build up.
  21. I use micas in some of mine...but just a little . Its mainly for shimmy left on the skin. I dotn use much at all. I also use more natural colors..silver & bronze etc...
