  1. i have been playing with my first peaks FO's...(sugar cookie...mmmmm!) on the bottle it says to add fo right before pouring....all the reading i have done says that it's best to add FO at a warmer temp...i have been adding it at 170-175*...i do 100% soy and pour very slushy....this wold not work to add right before pouring, obviously....so those that use soy and peaks...do you add your FO when the wax is hot? thanks!

  2. i tried to search to see if this has been discussed and didn't come up with much...so forgive me if this is repetitive...i saw a jar at walmart that i would love to try and make a candle with, but will need to have 2-3 wicks. my question is, how do you decide what sizes to start with? this is how i was thinking of starting....say the diameter is 5"... i was thinking i would use, say 2 wicks that would go into a jar that had a 2.5" diameter?? since i use ECO wicks, i would try two 6's as a starting point....is that even close to how you would figure what sizes to start with? sorry if this is a silly question of if my "formula" is goofy...:embarasse i appreciate your input...so thank you in advance!!

  3. thank you, again, for all your kind words...

the more i use these new labels, the more i love them and the ease of them over the hang tags...

southernscents....so are you trying to print on precut labels? if so, have you ever considered just printing on a full sheet and cutting them? it has saved me so many headaches, plus i can make any sized/shape label i need no matter what my container may be...i am not limited to only what i can buy as a precut label and i know my label will fit the container as i made it just for the container...kwim? good luck in your change over of labels and home decor.

  4. so i burned my candle made with the oive oil wax from Swan Candles....the first burn was good with a nice melt pool...but now, everytime i light it, it smokes terribly...even right away when i light it...the wick is not too long. i used the normal frag load that i do with my soy (1.5oz ppw, this amount does not smoke in my soy). does the smoke mean the wick is too big or what? if that's the case, why didn't smoke on the first burn? i'm using an ECO wick. thanks for any input!

  5. hi, flicker...thanks for the input...the one time i used soy wax, it was the only thing i had changed in my recipe...i don't use shea on a regular basis...or at all in lip balm, for that matter....you know how in a candle if soy is added too hot to the jar it sets up funny? that's what it seemed like the soy n the lip balm was doing....kwim? if you don't add the shea to the rest till it's starting to set up, how doyou get it in the itty bitty tubes? i am going to alter it a bit (as it's a sickness in me to NOT be able to leave a recipe as is...<blush>) thanks for your help!
