Hi Country Tart Mama,
I use warmers from Candlewarmers Etc. and I love them. They have a nice selection. They are located in Utah and here is their website: wwww.candlewarmers.com .
I hope this helps...Sharon Kay
i placed my first order on 10/5...still haven't got a shipping notice. are they typically slow to ship?

DS's lavender FO is very true. i use that and lavender EO, and a titch of patch to anchor. i love the croatian lavender from NDA. and the price is pretty good, as well.
-
have you ever pushed the limits of recommended fragrance load for soy wax? the recommended load for my was is up to 8%. i'm thinking of pushing it to 10%. is the risk simply seepage of too much fo?

anytime! have fun!

you could replace with another goodie...cyclomethicone, dimethicone..or maybe a favorite extract or two, glycerin...whatever you want, really...or you could just add that % to your water.
-
that seems like A LOT of citric...i don't use citric, so if i were doing this recipe i would drop that as i don't see the point. the only thing i could think of that would be causing tackiness would be the type of ewax you are using, they are not all created equal.

%'s are way more helpful when figuring out a recipe. it's sort of like reading greek when not in %'s. lol! do you have the %'s?
-
hope they work out for you!

i generally do a 3% lye discount...then i don't have to mess with the neutralizing thing. i always get clear soap.

the best calc for creating LS recipes is www.summerbeemeadow.com never had a bad batch once i started using that calc.

well, i'm sure it's not impossible that something is wrong with it...wouldn't hurt anything to give mike a call and describe the scent to him?
-
i HATE to eat coconut...but do LOVE the smell. if you decide you don't like it, let me know...i'd take it off your hands. i do think the smell of the VCO smells like the coconut FO i have.
-
really?? that's what i use too and think it smells awesome! have you called Mike to talk to him about it?
-
only difference is the scent....have you ever combined your VCO with a nice vanilla FO? makes a great coconut vanilla cream! i love making VCO lotions/creams.
-
are you not using a stickblender? emulsions turn out better, IMO, with high shear mixing. i would try that...stirring with a spoon will not get it adequately emulsified.

I used WSP for the first time last month.
10 cases jelly jars = 47.50
10 cases lids = 29.50
Febreeze fo 16 ounces = 36.64
Dreamsicle fo 16 ounces = 20.00
1000 tea light wicks = 50.00
300 Votive warning labels = 15.00
Case IGI 1343 = 74.25
TOTAL = 272.89
I just built an order with the same exact items
10 cases jelly jars = 129.50
10 cases lids = 59.50
Febreeze fo 16 ounces = 34.00
Dreamsicle fo 16 ounces = 20.00
1000 tea light wicks = 50.00
300 Votive warning labels = 17.85
Case IGI 1343 = 109.25
SubTOTAL = 420.10
tax = 24.42
TOTAL = 444.35
- 105.03 pick up discount
FINAL = 339.32
That is an increase of 66.43 for the exact same items and I am picking them up so the change is shipping should make no difference.
An increase of nearly 25% in prices. That is a pretty big jump in my mind.
WSP did have the best price for jelly jars for me but guess I will be researching and finding someplace else if possible.
did you show them this and ask them HOW this is saving you (or anyone else) money??

if anyone knows of other places to buy heat seal sample packets i'd be MUCH obliged to know where!?! WSP supplies does have the BEST price on these even with the "free shipping". sooo, has anyone seen these other places? kangaroo blue has some but they are smaller and cost twice as much. SW has some and are white, which *would* work, but my client likes the foil.

are you using a base? is so, just measure out how much you want to scent into a zip lock baggie, add the scent, then squish in the baggie till incorporated. clip a corner and pipe it into your bottle. pretty simple!
-
could it be castor oil? i have never heard of a glycerin that was yellow. mine always looks like thick water...crystal clear.

You have a really nice website. Do you do your own labels or get them done?
Thank you! i do all my own labeling.

i was a bit dissapointed in the VBS in 100% 402. i used it at 1.5oz ppw and it still wasn't very strong. i put it in an 8oz JJ. if i burned it in my small bathroom in my shop i could smell it great, but it didn't smell up my retail area very well....and it's not all that big of a space. i am going to try it again and use some IGI4630 with it...see if that improves the HT. i test most fragrances in 8oz JJ, and most will smell up my retail area, so...
