thanks, meredith...i found that thread right after i posted...<blush>...my prob, is i have no idea what they're talking about...it's all greek to me...i guess, i'm looking for something that will explain what one should look for in deciding on a wick...what all the different wicks do...ect...all the accronyms in that thread mean nothing to me...kwim?
i will try and do a search for what i am looking for.

looks awesome!
when do you add the GM? also...may i ask how much FO you use? is it a % of the finished LS? i have been doing 2% of the finished soap weight.
do you find that LS "mellows" with age, like bar soap? it seems to me that with the few batches i have made, my hands seem dry after using when i would test the soap after it was all done, but now a couple weeks later, it doesn't seem as drying....is this just my imagination?

AJ...don't now how exotic it is, but i recently started to blend MMS peach with NG's margarita, and a smidge of MMS coconut (this is the best coconut, btw, imo). i call it "peach cocktail" sells really well.

i have curing, a batch that i used 40% CB, 30% cocoa oil, and 30% babassu....i do CPHP so i make my soap with a 1% lye discont so that i can *know* what my superfat oil is....after the cook i added another 7% CB for the superfat. i also used aloe juice and coconut milk as part of the liquids. these were both added to the oils. it's a great bar...not crumbly at all...

simple granulated sugar is great for making hp more pourable as well and is something that is already in you home to use. i use 5% of the oils as sugar...so if i have 40 oz of oils i'll put 2 oz of sugar into my lye water...dissolve sugar before adding lye. i use this much b/c i have very hard water and it also helps with lather. others just use 1T ppo.

well, i figured i better have a first post and this is a topic i love so ithought it would be fitting to post here.
all i do now is crock pot HP....i just LOVE it!! but then i love the rustic look the soap has with HP. i love watching the trasformation of the soap. i know it's not as "quick" as CP, but i love the interaction with the soap....it's just cool to me!
i use sugar in all by batches...another thing is to always use the full liquid amount for better pourability.
