  1. they have so many wonderful oils, I love JS!! I know some people have issues with scents not throwing, but that is typical of many oils. I can't get much of anything to throw from ICS or NG, and others use them like crazy. I wish I could, as they have scents that smell soo good out of bottle... That said, here are some good ones from JS Sunkissed currant Captivatingly Currant Mojito Cocktail My secret recipe Egg nog christmas cookie pumpkin vanilla creme oatmeal scotchies caramel cinnamon latte choco cinnamouse buttermint candies berries and buttercream vanilla buttercream crunch ultimate vanilla victorian vanilla lace vanilla of pearl cherry vanilla sweet berry delight creme de la creme totally scrumptious holiday coffee hot buttered cinnamon cinnamon crunch Festival of lights cranberry spice cranberry orange cranberry sauce blueberry cheesecake candied blueberries my mammas wonderful cake strawberry white cake brown sugar pecan chestnuts and brown sugar serendipity black cherry
  2. Do they have issues with continuity between batches, or was this just a random thing? I remember reading there was a bad batch months back. I want to try the wax, but worry about constant changes---I cannot deal with that.
  3. You took the words right out of my mouth! Scary!!
  4. Thanks so much for the info. Do you know if their apothecary jars are the same diam. around in the three sizes? I liked the libbey jars that filmore carries, in 8, 16, 26 oz, but they don't sell frosted. Are the TVG easy to wick?
  5. I know for myself, (I don't use this blend, but do use a 50/50 wax) that after 24 hrs if I can't get a decent throw, I usually don't use the oil. IF at 24 hrs the throw is decent, I then test again at about 4 days or a week---it is usually even better. There are many oils that will throw awesome at the get go, and just blossom after a weeks cure time. Any oil that requires a couple weeks just wouldn't cut it for me, as I make my candles to order usually, and I don't have the time to cure that long
  6. wonder how long it will take for everyone to follow suit. I order quite a few things from across the country, I love that I can order via priority...too bad!
  7. Welcome to the board, Northwoods!! I love pumpkin nog, too---forgot about that one
  8. Great throw in 50/50 or soyat 9% here! This is a beautiful scent, I love it, and our stores sell it like crazy during the summer. I don't get a fuel smell oob or burning :undecided
  9. DIY is only 20 a month, and Beckie at Bizzy B's can do your stuff. She is awesome!!! LOVE her work. I would go for it---just take some pictures of your candles and stuff, it will be ok You don't have to do anything fancy, take them in an area that has direct sunlight--or is well lit, turn off the flash, as that tends to really wash out the details, and then edit them on your computer, they will be great!!
  10. Thanks for the replies--- I have been making candles for years now, and never had a problem --knock on wood--- so I guess, no need to borrow trouble. Glad to hear all the different angles on the tins, didn't know this had been discussed before:undecided My tins really do burn nice and cool, even power burned. After reading this I am glad I have always been insured! I am going to search for it now----
  11. No a fragrance oil supplier---BUT he also sells glass, so I guess he could be partial. He told me he 'hears' stories from customers about their tins igniting and becoming an exploding torch. He doesn't seem like he would lie, but like I told him, who knows what was going on for the candle to blow up...could have been a complete dolt making them for all we know.
  12. I thought the same thing I was just looking at mine....(bought one yesterday at the mall), fun idea, but I think it is overrated.....they smoke and soot like a chimney!
  13. This was the first I ever heard of this, I thought it was weird. I have been making tins for 4 yrs, and never an issue. Just wanted to check and see if anyone else has ever heard this from someone?
  14. You are the best, and I think as people in the candle business, we can all understand what it is like to have a delay from running out of supplies! Al least I can relate to this. Thanks for offering such great oils.
  15. Hey--went to go and check the site out (barnloftcandles.com) and it isn't working correctly for me....have any of you noticed this, or could it be my browser? I paid for advertising on there and it is down....
  16. I was speaking with a supplier today and he told me that candles made in tins can catch fire easier than glass, and it is very unsafe to make candles in tins. I was shocked, as I have never had this happen or heard of it, what do ya'll think about this?? He told me to take out some heavy insurance if I am making tins-----I don't know what to think
  17. I have been hearing from several of our stores that everyone likes the uncolored soy the best. So I am going to stop coloring mine, thought I would throw that out there---- What is your new jar for your soy? Are you still using the square jar you liked so much?
  18. I just got in Just Scent's Pumpkin Vanilla Creme and it is wonderful oob, I am going to be making some candles with it this weekend
  19. Is ICS strong in soy? I have to put in an order for vanilla hazelnut might as well try it, too
  20. Never tried Peaks, but Bluegrass is very yummy I currently use it or JS, either are very very good.
  21. Daystar's Ultimate Vanilla is sooo strong, and it is just like CC's vv, imo. Awesome scent. KY--Southern Vanilla, this is my personal favorite, it is buttery and super strong, house filling scent. Don't judge out of bottle, this one is strong!
  22. Hello everyone-- I have quite a few wholesale accounts, and want to streamline our line more...cut out the middle man.....you know. Have any of you ever ordered from IFT or the like and had scents you use in your line duped before? I don't know where to start, but know this is one of the companies most people use. Just wondering if you can save much going this route, as you have to order larger amounts??? Thanks!
  23. It is a lovely scent, I also am enjoying her new choco cinna mousse, this one is just like a mousse. I don't detect much cinnamon, it is very faint, and I caught it burning more than oob. Excellent scents.
