My second batch is soooo much better than my first, I just cut it and tried a piece of it to wash my hands, and wow, it had rich lather and my hands felt clean and great after, better than any store bought mass produced soaps, I love the cocoa butter in it, and with the almond pastries scent by peaks, its smell great too. I cant wait to make more and more and more! LOL
  2. They say always use cold water for my 2 batches I have made I keep a jug of distilled water in the fridge to use, hot water could cause it to boil over out if container, with my second batch I even used 3 ice cubes and cold water to helpp it cool faster
  3. what would happen if my soap was solid before the 24 to 72 hours it says to keep in the mold and I took it out and cut it up? Would it go to mush? or is there some reason for it to stay in the mold the whole time? Thanks for being patient with me and my questions tonight
  4. what would happen if I used the soap before it cured? If I poured it before it had traced? Mixed the lye into the oil with the lye hotter than the oil? These are just a few questions I thought of
  5. I finally got it!!! but one last question,where it sayshardness, what number is good 50 and up or 50 and down? got the percentage thing down now
  6. so after that I still have to compute my percentage of each in the mix, after putting in the oz and oil type
  7. what would happen if you poured your soap before it had good trace to it? I got to thinkin bout that and if the lye temperature wAs higher than the oil?
  8. so how do i add the oils? I see I can put 1 oil in but how do i make it put another oil
  9. should I keep my CP soap covered till its done or not? I read somewhere that they uncover it during the jell stage, but not sure if i should just keep it on, will it hurt the soap?
  10. have you picked a recipe yet that is first, then post what your recipe your using, as I just made my first batch last night and second today I can TRY to help but first you have to have a recipe
  11. well instead of the wintergreen, I added 1oz of almond paisteries by peaks, and OMG is is STRONG, its in the box covered over and has been for a hour and all I can say is I hope this sets right cause it smells soooooooo good, and again I am a addict, I think I like making soap better than candles, I need some help, LOL
  12. I know, I am backed up on candle orders, and just started my second batch of soap and gonna try swirls, I cant stop, I even got up 2 times last night to sneak a peek at my soap, dreamed soap and all, I cant stop now! I need soapersanonamous, LOL.
  13. Im not sure I know what a stick blender is, I have seen hand blenders, the ones used for smoothies, are they the same thing or could someone show me a picture? I just used my regular hand held blender with one attachment and it seemed to work fine, but if there is something better, let me in on it

  15. have no camera but will get throw away 1 today, sry broke my digital, really need to get another one but they are so expensive, gonna go shoppn today and maybe get one, I will post picutes but they are not perfect squares, just cute them into blocks as will be using them for my personal use and for friends to try too.

  17. wanted a good recipe with coconut oil, cocoa butter, grapessed oil, and crisco but not sure how to put it all together to make it right?
  18. I just cut it but its not perfect squares, and do I need to cover it? or just set it aside? I am so pleased with the way it turned out will try to get picture of it too.
  19. What is the zap test to touch your tongue to the soap? What am I looking for when I do this? A feeling or a taste? explain to me a little more? Not sure I understand it.

I was so scared that I almost talked myself out of making the saop but last night I got up my courage and cut a recipe in half from the Miller site and all I can say is WOW, I added peach color and peach FO and today it is awesome it set, which I was afraid it would not. Now I have took it out of the mold and cut it but how will I store it for 3 weeks? do I put it all back in the mold or wrap it seperate? I cant wait tobuy more lye and try another one, this one had crisco, coconut oil and olive oil, cant wait to try it out, thank you all for your help you have been so kind and patient
  21. I just bought a 8.5 x 12" x 4 you finish it photo box gonna use it and I found coconut oil, grapeseed oil and bought some olive oil too!!!!! yipppeeeee, gonna go pick my recipe now since I have everything
  22. This may sound dumb but keep in mind I'm a newb! Can I put my CP into molds? I wanted to go into the nearest big city to Michaels and get a soap mold of some shape but did not know if CP can go into them or if I have to use a large one and cut it to size.
  23. I have a postal scale the digital one, I hope that will work, I use it with my candles. plus if I subsitute one oil for another do I always need to recalculate or will it be the same as long as weight in ozs is the same
  24. so i can just substitute canola for coconut, ill run that trought the lye calculater and thanks all gonna try my luck this evening
