  2. ty so much will have to hunt down the dry GM also I do add oatmeal and honey at trace? I thought I read online somewhere to add it there since its a addative. Is there a average to how much additive to add per pound of soap or can u use whatever
  3. okay my recipe is 1) 50% crisco 2) 15% cocnut 3) 15% cocoa butter 4) 10% hazelnut 5) 10% sesame So could I use the goat milk and also 1/2 cup ground oatmeal and 2 tspn honey? Would I have to add more goat milk than my recipe requires for water or leave the same?
  4. 1) I read somewhere about mixing goat milk instaed of water and now I cant find it, are their specifacations on it or where can I look for threads on this subject 2) on the soapcalc9 it gave me a hardness of 36 combined for my recipe, now what I was wondering is what is the average for a firm bar? 3) thanks so much for all your help again

Okay I know that the norm for pricing is 3 x for retail and 2 x for wholesale but when I ran it by a few people who are new friends they all said the prices seemed high, do you lower prices or not? Like my 8 oz jelly jars are $6 to me it does not seem high but was wondering what to do, still want to get sales but also dont want to hurt my profit too much eather.
  6. I am trying to rebatch a soap that did not set up, okay, here the question, it looks like a big blob of goo, is that normal? I put it in the crock pot and has been in for a hour or so and now its like firm jelly, am I doing it wrong, I have read everything on rebatching, and cant find the help I need, thanks all

  10. I got zapped! does that mean I have to rebatch? Or throw it all away? It has almost set all the way but still soft like dough, and by the way thats not a good feeling eather:eek:
  11. Does anyone just cut them in rough blocks and sell as chunk soap like in the olden days when they just made chunks? Thought of packaging it in something to make it look like it was made in the 30s or 40s, just wondered if it would go over?
  12. I have tried every place local and only 1 would even order it but it was 15.99 for 1 lb package and they had to special order it for me, was trying to find it online for good price
  13. so lets say like I said in a earlier post that I added the wrong amount of lye and water so then I readded the right amount that I left out, and if it does not set up can I TRY to rebatch it or is it botched?

  17. yes I did but when I measured it out I looked at my old recipe and put that amount in the oil, now what can I add the difference into it, well anyway I did, LOL, but it still wont trace, is there a way to fix it? or just pour and pray, keep mixing it, or pitch it?
  18. okay i tried to double my recipe but left the same lye to water ratio, is is destroyed or can I add the rest of the lye to water in now???
  19. made my batch of soap a few hours ago and its jelling but its also sweating, I touched it and it was oily what is happening to my soap:cry2:

  21. I have looked everywhere for citric acid, where did everyone get theirs? Tried a few places local but no luck
  22. I changed it and got 7 for both clean and bubble, lather was 25 and hardness was 32 is that a good bar?
  23. so I thnk this is close 45% crisco 10% cocnut 25% lard 20% grapeseed but the lye says .27 and water .76 is that not even a ounce or is it 2.7 ounces?
  24. 9 oz crisco 2oz cocnut oil 4oz lard 2oz grapessed oil I wanted to put it into the soap calc 9, but cant figure out the percentages to enter into it to make it right, wanted to check the hardning, cleanse and lather, I am no good at that calculater when it comes to the percentages, is there a easy way?
