  1. Ok thank you. I will try that next time. The wick that I tested last night was called "S-330T" I got them from Can-Wax. It burned beautifully, but what a pain in the butt to wick the tealight with it.
  2. Thank you! i orderd a sample pack today!
  3. Actually, that is what I have been using and doing too, but decided that I should test other wicks just to see what works best. I got some paper wicks (can't remember off the top of my head what they are, I will check later) and as soon as I put them in the tealight, they droop and lean and generally tick me off, lol. The thing I didn't like about the zinc core, was the mushrooming, but maybe that wasn't because of the type of wick?
  4. I have seen in a couple of posts that some people blend their container wax and pillar wax? Can I ask what the purpose of this is? Is it better to do that? I have been using the complete container wax for tealights and containers, and pillar wax for votives and pillars. Also, what ratio do you mix the wax?
  5. Ok thank you! I have never tried Premier Wicks, but I will definitely add some to me nextg order!
  6. Is Banana Daquiri a scent I can mix myself? The reason I ask is cuz I have a big bottle of Banana F/O .
  7. So judging by the scents you are all mentioning, people tend to go more for the mixed scents rather than plain scents like just raspberry, or strawberry, or melon, etc?
  8. What kind of wicks do you prefer for tealights? Zinc or paper? Or any other?
  9. Ok thanks! I got checking out my scent supply tonight and realized I am all out of grape anyways! WAHHH! lol. I guess I need to put an order in, lol.
  10. Hiya! I have made a few candles using grape FO, and I love it, but I was wondering what other scents I can mix with grape to make new combinations? Any suggestions?
  11. ok.....what is glass poly? How do you "crackle" it? What do you mean by "wick up" When you pour the overpour at 190*, doesn't that melt the chunks? Oh wow! Now I am full of questions, lol.
  12. I just dipped my wick in the wax before adding color, and let it lay flat and harden while the pillar hardened. Because the wick is now stiff from dipping it in the wax, it just slides right in, no prob.
  13. :highfive: Awesome! Thank you so much for all the info. Now I wanna go make another one to try it out, lol. But I just made some Saskatoonberry 4 oz containers and tealights. I live in Saskatoon, so I have been dying to try it...but I'm not happy so far. I had gotten the FO from CanWax. Is there another supplier that carries SaskatoonBerry?
  14. Yuppers! It's 4786! Thanks a bunch.
  15. Ok thanks. Can I make white without adding whitener? Will it look ok, is what I mean, lol. I have some on order, but I live in the middle of Armpit, Canada, and I have to order all my supplies in, lol.
  16. I was wondering if someone can help me decide on the color for Jasmine candles. I was thinking that white is probably the best, but I don't have any whitener. Will it look ok if I don't add any color at all? Or should I make it yellow?
  17. I hope this doesn't take up too much room. I kept the pics big so that you can see what I mean.
  18. I will see if I can get a good pic of it and post it. The mottled parts aren't really mottled. Hmmm....how do I put it......it's just on the surface, and it's only on about the bottom half.
  19. I have used my daughter's clay. I noticed that it isn't as soft and it seems to work good, and doesn't stick to the wick.
  20. Ok thanks. So I guess it's best to just leave well enough alone then? Is this normal for larger chunk pillars? I have never made one bigger than a 2x6 before, and votives. And they all usually have the white jump lines, which I figured was normal because of the chunks cooling the overpour.
  21. I prefer to use liquid. I find it hard to measure out the blocks. How do I know how much of the block to add for the next time I want a candle with the same color.
  22. Hi. I just started using an old deep fryer, lol. I started doing this about 4 months ago, and I was doing it on the stove, and then remembered that I had an old deep fryer in the garage that hasn't been used for about 10 years. I have never used a Presto Pot, so I'm not even sure what it does. I put the wax in my pouring pot, and then I have water in the deep fryer, and then I just turn it to the temp I want. It is so much easier than the stove top method.
  23. Hi! I made a 3x6 Chunk pillar tonight, and I'm not happy with it. Where the bottom of the mold wass, it's all mottled, and then the top half is fill of pits and air bubbles, which I suppose can't be helped because of the chunks. I was wondering what if I was to put it back in the mold and then slightly warm the sides with a heat gun? Do you think that would make it look a bit better? Or is that as good as it's gonna get?
