  1. I was looking at the KY site and see that their prices are reasonable for these waxes. I have never used their waxes and was wondering if someone buys either of the waxes and how are they different...which one throws better hot. Are you satisfied with the wax, shipping, etc. TIA Rhonda
  2. Now I too am wondering if I might just go with the JS 50/50 if I can find who carries it and the shipping doesn't kill me. I know my customers love the fact that I'm using all natural soy wax the 464. Rhonda
  3. I get my wax from Gateway and they are across the US from me and they got me a great deal on shipping. They actually use a truck line to haul it. Maybe some of these other companies like Greenleaf can shop with them too if they are a better deal. It would probably help them get more customers to buy their product if they can get the freight prices down. Rhonda
  4. The GL wax to me because shipping is so expensive comes to $1.70 a pound! I can't even begin to afford those kinds of prices. I'm in the NW and Texas has a terrrible hub for shipping things. FO Lover
  5. Found their site (GL) and I put in 5 boxes and the freight was outrageous to me. With purchasing 5 boxes going to me in Vancouver WA the price per pound is $1.70. I in no way can afford that price! Dang it anyway...I was hoping to try a stronger wax. FO Lover
  6. For a jar that size I would try an HTP 1212 or maybe a 126 or 1312. I don't use that wax, but the first one I mentioned would be a good start...HTH, FO Lover
  7. Hi Geekrunner, I've been gone for a while and haven't been able to check the board, but I ordered 5 cases of the 464 based on what everybody has said about it and I couldn't wait or afford the expensive wax I was using. Now I see that you are all trying a GL 70/30. Where is that from and which wax do you like better? The 464 or the GL 70/30? My findings on the 464 is that if they get a good week to cure they are stronger. Every day when I check the candles they are stronger the next day even 5 days down the road. I also got the wick samples from Wickit and now I am not hearing very good things about those either. They are a darn good price...too bad! Thanks for your response, FO Lover
  8. I don't recall what Jason said about the max fo load for this wax? Anybody know? 10%? Thanks, Rhonda
  9. I have not heard of the 700 premier series wicks. Can I ask where you got them and how did you hear about them and how your testing with them is going? Thanks, Rhonda
  10. Thanks Purple Lilac, I'll go with the 150. Going to go test more now.
  11. Hi Jason, received my wax sample form Gateway and I'm a little unsure of melting temp. On the bag it says pour at 175-180 and that's what most people are pouring at here, but when we talked on the phone I wrote down that you said "melt to 150 & pour" of course adding everything you need to first and then pour. This wax takes forever to solidify and I'd rather heat to 150 to cut down on my time of waiting to pour. Will that work out ok? Thank you, Rhonda
  12. Hello I'm wondering if I can still use the 1212 that I have been using and now use them for the 464 in the pint mason jar or should I try wicking down to the 126? What are your guys thoughts on this? Thanks, Rhonda
  13. I've decided based on all the input supplied that I will use this wax! I am so excited!!! Now,..... how much is shipping? I'm waiting to hear from Gateway and they are closed tomorrow, so won't get anything till next friday...wahhhh . I'm happy though! Thanks everyone Rhonda
  14. Bobbie is so cute!!! Thanks for the great candle pics too! The wax looks awesome!!! Rhonda
  15. Hi all, I am new to this board but have been making candles full time going on 4 years. I am at a point in my business that I must revamp several things including my wax. I am currently using Calwax 119 100% soy so they claim on the soy part and it is costing me more than it is worth to work with it physically because it is in slab form and a pain to work with, load into melter etc. I just found a supplier in my area that carries the C-3 and I can pay $50 and just go pick it up when needed, no shipping. However, I am not used to this new wax and find I don't like the center portion around the wick to be so liquified for like 1-2 hours after pouring. I decided to research further and found the GB 444,449, and now from your posts 464. I know nothing about these waxes and I need a fantastic hot and cold throw 1 pour as I make the candles and they go to my customers within the next day or two after I've made them. I do not have the time to hold on to the candles to cure for a week or two. Won't happen. I am pouring 4 oz. tins to sell as samples too so people can figure out which fragrances they like in order to place orders to purchase larger candles from me that they really like. The GB wax is more expensive as it has to be shipped to me and then I have to buy 5 cases of it and have the room to store it also. I just don't know which one to use or the one that is the better one and ready to burn in a day or two with all the qualitys I need to be able to produce a winner??? I was told from a source that the 444 was the ultimate greatest thrower in the bunch, but I do not recall anything about the 464 on the site at GB, but am wondering about the 464 if it is the ultimate??? Of course I will test them and see, but I called Jason and left a message and have not received a call back from him to talk. I would really appreciate your help! Rhonda
