  1. I bought mine at Nature's Garden.
  2. If you have the "tare" feature on your scale, you put an empty pour pot on your scale and hit the "tare" button. When you take the pour pot off, you will see the scale go to -8.6 or -10.2 (whatever your pot weight) so you are actually only getting the weight of your wax when you put your wax in. As for the spigot question. If you have a spigot on your presto, put the presto near the edge of your countertop space and put the pour pot underneath it. You should only have to lift up your pour pot if you have wax that is below the spigot. As for ladeling--it's not so bad...and you do get used to it.
  3. I think they are perfect for that scent.
  4. Peaks (1st choice) Candles and Supplies (local) Nature's Garden and once or twice Rustic Escentuals
  5. I put my caution label on the inside of the lid, and put the scent label on the outside of it. And I'm in for a co-op too. I love using those clamshells.
  6. I used the Pink Lemonade from Candles and Supplies last summer. It was tart! I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Good luck!
  7. I've seen them at Walmart in the craft section, Michael's, AC Moore.
  8. Great ideas, but be careful, the big hotels are not sponsoring your candles and may get upset. I would definitely do the themes, but not name them after the hotels. Once again, great ideas those!
  9. If you do a food scent, you could do cappuccino (spelling) & biscotti, call it coffee break?
  10. I have not had luck with glue dots at all. I have a very large roll of them and they suck. I only seem to have luck with the old glue gun. I guess I'll keep it around for gift baskets.
  11. One FO that surprised me was Med. Fig. I did not expect that to smell as nice as it did. That's a good fall scent IMO. White Tea & Ginger is my favorite (so much so, that I can't bring myself to pour it yet, I LOVE smelling it OOB).
  12. Geez, sounds like we all need a happy hour! LOL! Thanks for your suggestions. I think I need to get some pie crust FO, have lots of stuff to go with that. Ash--great idea with the freesia.
  13. I have received 16 oz. of peach FO, and I am not a big fan of peach, any suggestions on what to mix it with. I thought of cranberry and orange to do "Sex on the Beach" type scent, and Vanilla/Peach, any other suggestions? Thanks!
  14. I think the cantaloupe is a tough one, but I did get the Honey Baked Pears yesterday and I don't think it needs anything added to it. It is WONDERFUL. I'm so excited to pour it, I wish I didn't have a date tonight. LOL!
  15. To me, MF smells like Juicy Fruit gum, but depending on the buyer, will depend on the name for me. Monkey Farts does get alot of conversations started though.
  16. I use a preblended wax too, and I had soot with zinc, switched to Heinz coreless and have had good results. Good luck and keep us posted.
  17. I use zinc and that size is for votives, and I understand why you used two, but try wicking with a 60-44-18.
  18. I find I have soot with marathon burns only. What type of wax & wick are you using?
  19. I have made 90 baby food jar candles for 2 showers within one week of each other and I used votive wicks. As for pricing, they were for friends so I cut them a break, and only charged for supplies. Sorry I can't help. I will tell you though--people LOVE them.
  20. They are the coolest candles I have ever seen. Great job!
