  1. 60.99?! OMG! I would'nt pay that price. Mine is the same as in the picture, the tall one, and it was $16.99. Pier One wants about $60 for one, which is nuts. I would shop around your local stores and try to find a good deal.
  2. What style jar and where are you located? I get my 10 oz frosted jars from fillmore and it only costs me $1.90/jar and I'm 4 states away. Theres fancycandlejars.com Other than that, and the jarstore, I havnt found many other suppliers with a variety of frosted glassware. HTH!
  3. I found mine a garden ridge, if you have one around, their the same a pier ones only about $25 cheaper.
  4. OMG! I did the same thing with peaks purple liquid dye! Glad I'm not the only one who did it! And Ditto, goo gone worked well.
  5. nevermind, just recieved a response from the supplier answering my question. sorry
  6. wow, those are awesome! definatly some of the nicest rustics i've seen in awhile. Love the colors!
  7. Thanks for noticing that on the rose ones. I agree. I think I need to redo that one completly because the layers on the far left candle are uneven, I just didnt feel like pouring a better one for the photo....Thank you everyone for your nice comments! Now if I could just figure out the right lighting to do my glass jars....Thanks again!
  8. Havn't posted anything in a while, here goes...I've been working on my photography skills, with a little help from photo shop These are scented wild mountain honey, rambling wood moss, and rose bouquet. I think I may use these on a future brochure. Thanks for looking!
  9. I love those colors together! there perfect!
  10. I've tried this with the fake rose petels in a cane with an insert and you couldnt really tell they where rose petels, too much wax in front of them. Now I've done a few where I make a solid plain hurricane shell, then used roses I pressed and dried and put them on the outside with mod podge then overdipped them in wax. Very time consuming, but beautiful results! I'd think that if you used chunks to hold them in place, you may see the chunks with the petals and it wouldnt look as nice. HTH!
  11. Yep, I've done many tests on this with flat braid, burns exactly the same for me either way.
  12. Just curious if anyone knows anything on this? I'm guessing Astorlite J223 is now an IGI wax? Has anyone used this version of the wax or know if the new version is the same as the old? This place is really close to me and I could pick up instead of paying shipping. They are the only place I see it listed as an IGI wax....so I'm a bit confused.... http://www.dpswax.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=55-4633-J223&Category_Code=PBL Also, are the J223s from Lonestar the same as Candlewics? I've just heard people getting a completly different wax (J223) from different suppliers. Hopefully someone out there will know, because I need to order many cases coming up but also need to save some $$. Thanks!
  13. I think it's the funnest thing ever taking a hammer to it and going nuts! But I've found if you use a large heavy blunt object like a sledgehammer and whak it once really hard in the center of a slab, the whole thing usually breaks all up in one hit. Plus it's fun!
  14. Awesome guys, Thanks! I think I can find that on my trip to wal mart tonight. Thanks Again!
  15. Thats what I thought. I had seen a post mentioning this. But what kind of wire brush do you use? I'm not too familiar. Do you know where I could get one? Thanks!
  16. Hello All! I tried a search on this but could'nt find anything as I dont know what to call this....Does anyone know how to get this effect on the surface of a pillar? What kind of tools work best for this? I'm assuming it was just a solid pillar and then something was used to make a criss crossed pattern on the surface, right? I actually tried wrapping a piece of screen around it and while heat gunning the sides, I pulled it tighter to leave an imprint, but geez, there has to be a better way and it didnt turn out very well.... Anyone know?
  17. Is it a 5 oz? I use that and just put a small hangtag on it. A folded in half one, so you have 4 places to put info on since it's so small. It looks really cute on those jars. Like This..... (just got a new camera, I'll use any excuse to take a picture)
  18. Does anyone else have trouble burning when using these chips? I read an earlier post about someone having the same problem as me but in tins. They Completly clog the wicks in my 4045H and J223(half a chip pp). I've tried 5 different scents that I have properly wicked, just with different colors. Poured some with Aqua, and every single one tunneled and drowned out. Anyway, I'm wondering if I maybe got a bad batch and should reorder some more and try again. Its such a beautiful shade! Can Anyone out there reccomend a similar color from another supplier. A light Aqua, in chips or liquid. I cant seem to find one that gives the same color as peaks. Thanks!
  19. Beautiful Candle! I love that jar. My only suggestion would be to maybe go with an off white or tan hang tag instead of white since you are using the raffia and those colors might go a little better in general with all different colored candles.
  20. I basically follow the instructions to the left under techniques and ideas. I just use an ice cube instead of a washcloth and make sure they're cooled completly, then stick it in the freezer for 1 min. and it comes right our with no blemishes. What kind of wax and mold are you using?
  21. I love your jars! You've got that frost look that I've always wanted to have in my jars but just cant part with my J223. What kind of wax do you use?
  22. I'm having a heck of a time wicking Peaks Black Raspberry Vanilla in my 3x6 inch pillars. I'm using 4045H 2 tbs stearic pp and 3/4 oz. FO pp. I've found that the RRD 50 and HTP 126 is burning good, but these wicks seem like they should be way to big, but their working....Just wondering what if anyone else has used wicks this large in their pillars(tried all my flat ply and lxs and get tunneling)
  23. I'd say it's because your pourong 10 degrees hotter, You need to pour at a lower temp to get a rustic effect. I know some people say to pour each layer hotter than the last so the layers will adhere to each other, But I've always poured each one at 150 with no problems. It probaly isn't nessecary to do a water bath either.HTH!
  24. You use regular ink and you take whatever fabric you want to use and cut it a little bit smaller than the paper size that will go in the printer(a thicker cardstock works best) Then you spray the back of the fabric with repositional adheasive(at any craft store) smooth it down on the paper real good and print. It peels right off the paper and doesnt feel sticky at all. It works really well and is so easy to do!
