Not familiar with this, but was thinking of adding some to my shea butter, does anyone have any good/bad feedback on this oil?

Is it supposed to feel greasy?

I just tried it for the first time a few days ago, and while I liked it when I tested it out on myself, I was just wondering if I did it right-I've seen some pics posted of it and mine wasn't as thick. It looks solid at first glance but when u scoop some out of the bowl it isnt that thick-almost lotiony. Ummm did I totally botch it????!!!

I noticed on some shea butter i bought that the ingredients label said shea butter, fragrance & apricot kernel oil. So are you supposed to list them as their inci ingredient name or not? I'm confused.........

Ok, very stupid question here, exactly what is distilled water and where do you buy it? I thought it was boiled water, but I'm confused now.:undecided

Not sure if i did this right- 1% of EO, 7% of shea butter, 92% of base, which would be .16oz of EO, 1.12 oz of shea butter, 14.72 oz of base (for a 16oz batch). How do I measure these out exactly, I need to invest in a digital scale?:undecided

ok, the base ingredients are: deionized water ceterayl alcohol & cetearth 10 glyceryl monostearate isopropyl palaitate aloe vera triethanolamine tetrasodium EDTA methyl paraben propyl paraben received an email from CS@essentials and they said "We recommend no more than 7% because it has not been tested for longterm stability. In other words wether it will seperate or break down over time. As for the preservatives,that all depends on the Shea butter. If you are buying it from us then it is highly refined so this should not be an issue. If you are buying from another source we recommend you ask them if it requires preservatives."

ummm i'm not sure off hand whats in the base-but its a lotion base i got from essentialsbycatalina.com. I was thinking the same about putting the shea first, but just wanted to make sure someone else agreed with me.

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie, just wanna say i find this forum extremely helpful. I have been playing around with different whipped shea butter recipes and have been finding them too greasy. I just made a batch using half ready made base and half shea butter and it turned out awesome-thick, creamy, and not at all greasy. My question refers to labeling-how do i list the INCI ingredients-can i list the shea butter first and then the ingredients of the base?
