  1. :yay: Woot !! Thanks for your review . . Now, I know I am going to add them to my order to test. Thanks bunches !

ETA - May I ask which ones you got? I am looking at the peace, hope, love silver ones =)

  2. Has anyone got the new plug in oil warmers from OBI to test ? They are really neat but the website says most of them weigh 2#'s :shocked2: That seems a bit heavy too me for a plug-in type warmer. I am hoping someone has a review on them that they are willing to share.

  3. I called them last week inquiring about freight shipping and if the online prices with shipping applied when ordering / shipping bulk on a pallet. They told me if I were to use freight I would receive 25% off the website prices BUT I would have to use my UPS account for the shipping costs. I told them that I would compare pricing from other suppliers with the info they gave me and would get back with them. I bluntly let them know I would rather pay actual shipping costs than have them figure it in - on small and large orders alike ! I get alot of my heavy stuff from them and they did say I could fill a pallet with anything from their site but I would have to call or email the order to them to get around the website pricing. I am hoping everyone complains and they learn to leave their shipping alone.

  5. I must be one of the lucky ones . . I just received my Bug Off from OT and am going to be making lotions, sprays and candles today with it. It is the first time I have purchased it, I was a AGE Bug Buster customer and my stash finally ran out.

Can anyone tell me how much to use in wax? With FO's I use 8%, do begin testing at the same ratio for this EO blend ?

ETA - I really had to wick up with AGE's Bug Buster, but OT's Bug Off appears to be lighter in weight. Any guidance is appreciated =)

  6. Soy isn't any healthier than paraffin in the long run, as any and all candles that have a with and burn emits pollutants. Soy wax is chemically processed along with any other wax product, so telling customers it is healthier than paraffin is just a big fib!! :rolleyes2 I thought the soy propaganda stopped, but I guess it's making another round with a new batch of newbies.

Search the Natural threads for information on palm wax and no it isn't easier to work with. All waxes have their little quirks you need to work with!

Well put ChrisR . . I have tested numerous waxes and have the cleanest and best burning from a parasoy. To each there own . . . Testing is the key no matter who your supplier is ;)

  7. Thanks Top . . there is no zap so hopefully all will be good as it cures. I used a floral fragrance and didn't want it to move to quickly so I cut in half, now I wish I wouldn't have. Time will tell if the scent will come thru . . other than the soapy lye scent I am detecting today.

  8. One of my latest batches of CP that I cut yesterday smells heavy on lye yet after 24 hours. Instead of a full ounce PP of FO I only used half ounce PP and I water discounted. Will the heavy lye smell mellow as it cures or shall I chalk this one up as a rebatch? I know patience is the key but it looks so pretty and I am wondering prematurally if it will be reworkable scrap or good to go later. This is my first batch I've had with the heavy lye smell. Reminds me of my grandma's laundry soap . . You think it will mellow ?

  9. I have liner's I can sell you. I order in bulk so always have plenty. Last time I ordered I was told they would be special order only. I will only sell by the pack of 200 for $4.00. Sometimes the packs are misshaped and you need to push around to correct this. I'll send as they come to me... Let me know.

    Size 1 1/2" x 1"

Sharon - thanks for this offer :yay: I'll send you a PM !

  10. Does your local restaurant store have a website? I have visited Gordon Foods and they don't have them :( I used to be able to get Reynolds mini's at Krogers and another local grocery store but they can't get them either. Speaking with Vickey she said her supplier also made them for Reynolds (or vice versa) so I am hoping I can find my size somewhere.

  11. Due to all the raves I just got in Bert's Aspen Forest and in addition to it being a twin to Flicker's Balsam & Citrus it is also a twin to Southern Scentsations fragrance Holiday Scentsation.

ETA - Southern Scentsations Butt Naked is a dupe to At Wix End Butt Naked and Make's Scent Butt Naked.

  12. I think it is a good thing to buy local and support your own area.

EXACTLY . . ! To add icing to the cake I have had my customers ask me why is my kids selling the Yankme candles, we aren't buying we only buy yours. :rolleyes2 I don't understand . .

  13. GRRRRR - I honestly cannot believe how many different organizations have hit me up for donations this year already. Not that I mind don't get me wrong, BUT my latest request came from our local school who is currently selling YANKME candles for a whole school fundraiser AND they know of my business (obviously, they want donations). They have fundraising packets from my business that offers a higher profit margin and I periodically follow up with the administrative office inquiring of upcoming events. My candles have a significantly higher scent throw and burn clean and I have a high customer base from teachers and the staff, not to mention a large local customer base. It just grinds my @ss so I venting here. Sorry if I am out of line releasing my frustration ! I am half tempted not to donate . . .but most likely tomorrow I will have calmed down and will just for my business name sake. Sheesh :rolleyes2

  14. Candlemama6 . . don't be afraid to jump in after doing a bit of research. I have made a whole whopping 3 batches of CP and I must admit I have found a new addiction. I wish I had more time to soap but right now my candles are taking up all my time. Trust me once you try it you'll be hooked :laugh2:
